Lovely old school pub, very relaxed atmosphere & friendly staff
Very lovely staff, amazing food. Would recommend especially when parents or in laws are visiting.
Fantastic hotel, the restaurant a little less but still recommended
Great atmosphere as the bars and restaurants were really busy. Good service at the bar and in the restaurant. A great British Pub with a great restaurant.
Great fine dining with a hearty twist. Quirky decor and great atmosphere
Lovely pub. Busy, but service was still prompt and friendly.
We are fans of the Wykeham but today we made the mistake of ordering pastrami sandwich at the bar. It had one slice only of meat, a very poor imitation of what a pastrami sandwich should be, not good value - must try harder Wykeham!
Nice environment, nice smoking area and friendly staff.
An historical pub close to Cathedral and full of pieces of English stories. It's a perfect way to taste typical English food not only some good beers. I want to come back again and again
Poorest service we've had in a hotel for a very, very long time....
Steeped in history, this olde worlde pub is next to Wykeham College. It's a Fullers pub but also usually carries Goodens Gold from the Cheriton Brewery. Beer is well kept and the food is good too.
Nice rooms
However a bit shocked by rudeness of waitress when as a party of 5 we sat in wrong area of pub. This was disappointing as we d not experienced such a poor attitude when we d stayed here before.

Amazing food and great service. Would definitely go again
Still my favourite place in Winchester despite the wealth lf competition. Great beer, food and traditional ambience in abundance.
Famous Grouse? No, we serve Johnnie Walker, a superior blend - I think you'll find.
NO! I'll take my custom elsewhere - I think you'll find!
Lovely classic pub in historical old Winchester. Beautifully English.
Great food and drink in an historic pub. Endless interesting relics to look at (I don't mean the punters!)
Superb atmospheric Olde school pub in Central Winchester. Well worth a look.
Very disappointing vegetarian option although we were not charged for it.
Lovely pub, only stopped in for a drink but will definitely be going back
A little expensive, but great drinks. Would definitely consider going there for a meal. Will visit again.
Absolutely fantastic pub and the food is outstanding but the girl with black skirt and maroon top on needs some serious training in customer service. Everything was delivered by a sigh and it became the talking point of our meal. The rest of the staff and service was as usual excellent.
My friend and I had a lovely lunch with excellent service. The environment is wonderful.
Friendly staff , excellent food walm and welcoming would highly recommend it!!!
Really cosy pub. Friendly staff. Felt safe with he COVID measures that were in place. Good selection of beers. Didn't eat there but the menu looked great!
Great atmosphere, friendly and warm with excellent range of
Good old style traditional pub, no chrome and plastic.
Food excellent. Wide choice of drinks. Very popular
We went here for our 5 year anniversary, recommended by a friend. The atmosphere was lovely and cosy and the service was so good. The food was amazing with each course! A really lovely place to go, however only found out when we got there that they had a car park out the back, as we had parked a good walk down the road!
This is my favourite pub in Winchester. The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is good. Always a pleasure to visit.
Great place to stay.food 5 star.Staff lovely. Really would recommend nice location for Winchester attractions.
Great friendly pub. Old style. Good food. A bit pricey, as long as you know. No parking but close to the center of town.
Outstanding food in a cosy, quirky atmosphere with great service. Couldn't ask for more!
Great classic English pub with great choice of beers
Loved this place, friendly atmosphere and amazing staff, couldnt do enough for you
Check into the hotel was an awful experience and was treated as if we were bothering him as we had the dog. We were not given the room planned, again the dog was blamed. This is supposed to be a dog friendly business. When we got to the room it was less then impressive. No toilet paper, water stains and cracks all over the ceiling. We also found a dirty old sock by the desk. So it obviously wasn't cleaned very well. There was not enough tea in the room and milk was not replenished and we needed ask the staff for some. Not very happy at all.
Called in for lunch and was impressed by the quaint surroundings and excellent food. Staff were friendly and very helpful. All in all The Wykeham Arms is a great place to visit.
Surprisingly fine food even though we have been impressed by food here before. Friendly and relaxed setting.
Fantastic food. Good service. Great drinks. Would deffinetly go back for lunch or dinner. Would very much recommend you book tho! Characterful proper pub in historic Winchester. But a step up from your average pub in terms of quality. Not cheap but worth it.
This is a lovely combination of an extremely comfortable hotel and a great local pub/restaurant. Good beer, excellent wines, good food, and exceedingly comfortable and stylish rooms, located close to the cathedral in a quiet backstreet. Very highly recommended. Note however that the weekly council refuse collection occurred at 5.15 on the morning of our stay. The hotel has repeatedly complained about this but occasionally it still happens.
Gorgeous old place. Easy to miss, so make sure you don't!
Great service at the Bar, warm and welcoming atmosphere. Food was exquisite!
Qaint pub plenty to look at, interesting bits and pieces of history. Historic pub good choice of beer, lager and spirits. Good food.
Food was amazing! We were really well looked after by Adam and the rest of the team (who were all rushed off their feet adhering to the new covid restrictions). Beautiful pub, lovely hardworking staff, extremely clear safety measures that didn t spoil the atmosphere and delicious food! Couldn t recommend more!
It was absolutely lovely. We were a large part and booked ahead for lunch. We had our own lunch room upstairs. The food was amazing and so were the staff
What a delight this pub is. Much bigger inside than expected. Within an easy walk from the train station. So warm and comfortable. There is a good selection of drinks for all tastes. I would recommend this bar for a good natter with friends More
Ahh... the Wykeham Arms. Like coming home and sinking into a well worn, but particularly comfortable old leather couch. The smell of the wood-smoke, the eclectic mix of antiques and old school furnishings, and great craft ales on offer all combine to create a cosy and friendly atmosphere. They also do pretty delicious food. Especially the Sunday roast beef, which is always a real treat washed down by a couple of glasses of house claret. There's not much else you'd rather be doing on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Interesting and historical. We rented a a room upstairs for a family tea after my mother's burial.
We spent time looking for various relatives names on long past Winchester College year lists.
This pub has a very good reputation, it s nice historic location and pub. For me it s disappointing the food is over price and the attitude of the staff isn t great for what you are paying for. There s lots of better pubs in the UK I experienced.
Gastrointestinal public house at Gastrointestinal prices. But very nice.
Great beer,i personally liks Gales hsb and have not been disappointed here.
Nice place, but not child friendly!
We were not allowed to go to the bar area as it's their "policy" so only eating outside with children is allowed.
My daughter is 12 years old, she didn't need a kids menu, besides nobody from the staff could tell us why she was not allowed.
I like the place, but not your approach to children.
Bishop on the Bridge never questioned us about it.
Comfortable rooms just by the King's Gate into the cathedral. The pub itself has good beer, open fires and a restaurant. Friendly staff. I would stay there again, though note the rooms are up steep stairs so no disabled access at all.
Amazing food, great staff, really cozy feel to the place
Thank you for the warm welcome, fantastic room and delicious food.
Great warming food for a rainy day. Followed all COVID guidelines. Book ahead as the pub is very popular!
Good atmosphere and great location in Winchester. The food was imaginative and tasty but the high prices and very small portions make it hard to recommend.
An excellent hostelry. Possibly my favourite pub. Great beers but most of all always interesting.
Lovely atmosphere good beers friendly staff fully recommend best pub in Winchester by far
Been here on both of our visits to Winchester, a really excellent unique pub that everyone should visit. Beautiful decor and a warm welcome awaits. Although on my first visit I thought there were more beers, maybe I am getting fussy with age
