Great place though not good with manual wheelchairs. Costs $25 to rent a scooter.

Have always loved this zoo. Enclosures are great and staff are friendly and can tell the love the animals.
Refused to refund or allow medically exempt individuals into the zoo. $80 and a 90 minute drive to the zoo was completely waisted because of the inability to wear the masks. Will never be returning.
The zoo is great all the exhibits are amazing. It does take some time to see the animals come out. Once they do it's really worth the wait. In our trip we had a hard time seeing the tiger jaguar and the lion. But everything else was great. The middle of the zoo has a large open Safi with a few mix of animals that you can watch from viewing areas. My experience at the woodland zoo was great I would give your self no less then 4 hours to explore. I can't comment on the learning/shows that really place at the zoo as our visit was later in the day and they had already ended. All in all this is a great distention for families
First visit, early December did not see even half of the zoo. Did like we what we did see will be back.
This is a really nice zoo. I have to give it props for having a map that was easy to read and had no problem navigating around. It takes about 3-4hrs to see everything so be prepared to spend some time there, probably even more if you have kids.
Zoo lights is always a magical experience, esp when you land it on a night with no rain. Definitely a wonder for kids and grown-ups alike.
Favorite zoo lights I ve ever been too! I ve been coming here since I was a kid and have loved every single visit. It s a good place to just walk around too when the weather is nice. All the exhibits are so well kept and the food is pretty great as well.
Amazing zoo! Have gone since I was a kid and it s great. For Covid they have a one way walkway and make people 5+ wear masks, I felt quite safe.
They have food you can buy, and the membership price isn t bad. They also have a zoo store! The animals themselves are so great to look at, always new babies!
We love this zoo, everyone is very nice and we see lots of animals everywhere.
Great place to see a concert B B-52s Berlin and OMD. Concessions were a little bit pricey and hard to get to between bands. Next time I'll be prepared where I won't have to buy anything.
This is on amazing place! The kids and I had a wonderful time and planning a return visiting next summer. The staff were very knowledgeable about the animals in the exhibits and we learned a great deal from them. Now my eldest wants to work animals now.
The zoo is always fun, clean and educational. We have enjoyed it for years! I am writing this review specifically because of Rosie. I called with an unusual question, and she was more than friendly and helpful. She went above and beyond to accommodate my family. Her friendly and understanding manner was very refreshing . She is a keeper and I'm thankful that she was the one to answer the phone. Thank you Rosie! I hope they are taking great care of you!
Nice place to visit. They have one way paths marked to keep people away from each other. Overall very pleasant experience.
It was really rainy when we went but the zoo was well maintained. We got to see the giraffes peaking out of their enclosure which was super cute and they have a huge variety of aviary species to view. We had fun despite the dreary day.
My kids love it. The only problem you might face is getting a parking spot. Woodland zoo has four parking lots around the zoo. When we went to the first parking lot we saw that it was completely full so we went to next nearby one which was surprisingly empty.
Amazing zoo. Kids loved it! Came from Vancouver BC to see it!
Great place to take the kids to see beautiful animals
Awesome time!! BERLIN, OMD, and THE B52'S!!! Good venue, but if you arrive anytime before 7:PM, PLEASE wear plenty of sunscreen, a hat, AND take an umbrella. Trust me! You will fry!!
Best place ever couldn t imagine going anywhere else my kids loved it
What a great zoo! Lots of viewing points, a number of employees who walk the grounds with a lot of information regarding the animals.
Lots of fun animals. I'd like to see more informational signs though. Plus it would be nice to *just once* see the ostriches!...I've been to this zoo at least 25 times as I've had year passes off and on for years and never see them.
Took the whole family and it was so much fun! If the food wasnt so damn expensive I would give 5 stars
It s more of a safe haven for animals than a place to actually see them. No rhinos anywhere. It was cool for what it is
It's a nice zoo, the animals seem healthy and happy.
Came down from Vancouver seeing as though we don't have a real zoo, the GVA zoo is a joke, Woodland Park Zoo is an amazing zoo, gives all the animals plenty if room room to roam. We went and had to park a few blocks away because it was so busy, but the zoo is so big that with all those people in it, it still didn't feel crowded. Highly recommended!
Great field trip spot or family outing. Animals are organized by region of origin with a decent amount of signage and interactive features. The staff and volunteers are always helpful, too. Bring a pack lunch and water!
My granddaughter love it here at the Zoo. Very nice today to see the Lion and new Rhino, and the gorilla and the wolf and jaguar. Not enough inventory for T-shirt .
Good zoo. Workers were kind of rude. Volunteers were extremely nice.
Before I left Seattle I stopped by here. This was one of the attractions you can go to using the CityPass Seattle and save money. I took the 5 bus and it drops you off at the park. I honestly loved this place...here you will see a large number of animals such as lions bears wolves billy goat birds penguins and gorillas and more. Even though it was chilly when I went I still enjoyed my visit here. Expect to walk ALOT while here and I strongly suggest to get and use their maps to show you where you are at snd the location of the different animals. After you can have a bite to eat in their food place in the park. Staff was friendly and many people brought their young kids here. Really nice to see the animals up close. Also they have a small petting zoo with sheep goats cows and a small pony that I saw on the distant.
The zoo seems small in pictures, but it is pretty big to walk about and meet all the animals. We spent a good 4 hours and we didn t get much done. There are places to eat some food and rest a bit, water fountains and restrooms along the way and some stores, lots of parking and even a rose garden outside.
My kid had a blast here. The park was really well kept. All the animals looked very comfortable and had huge runs. Unlike the Vancouver zoo
Great value and family activities. The zoo staff have activities for young kids too. Feeding the giraffe or penguin is also a treat. Parking is pay but get there early and you'll find free street parking.
Woodland Park Zoo is a beautiful zoo with a variety of animals. I have never seen a snow leopard earlier and they had two of them. Right from the lion, tiger to the one horned rhino, the lemurs, the Jaguar, it was amazing to see birds too. I suggest you give it at least 2-3 hours to see everything.
Woodland Park Zoo is amazing! We actually stopped to renew our membership today. Not a lot of time to explore what we managed to see the Penguins and take a ride on the carousel. I'm looking forward to going back there is so much to see here. I recommend an annual membership if you're local. When you go say hi to my penguin friend Gomez. He doesn't have a mate yet but I suggested her name be Morticia. We had a great time and look forward to visiting again soon. The zoo is open rain or shine. The more rain the less people.
Great opportunities to view wildlife at an old zoo.
The map was a little confusing, but everything else was pretty great
I went on President's Day on a whim, and I had such a blast. The crowds were low, but even though it was still snowy outside, the animals were super active. The facilities were clean. I really appreciated that the bathrooms were warm, which was nice because the temps outside were in the low forties.
That is not a zoo it's. Horrible agh
Please if your a tourist don't waste your day there
I live in Seattle I had to take my kiddo there but I can't wait to travel to take him to a real zoo bad experience
This is a wonderful gem in the heart of Seattle. Safe in Covid, well organized, inspirational. Seeing animals, I get a little hope for some humans
Alot of different animals to see. Really a nice zoo. You can definitely make a full day out of it, big.
Unique fun, beautiful animals and friendly staff. I would recommend this to anyone. The map was helpful so we didnt miss any creature
This is a beautiful zoo. The exhibits really reflect natural settings, and are well maintained. They have many cultural and conservation exhibits that they change up around the year, and a concert series in the summer. Concerts are featured in an open field within the zoo, with food and vender booths, near the historical carousel. There are plenty of bathrooms, cash machines, and food booths that offer a variety of traditional junk foods and local fair (like chowder). Parking is a real problem though, especially on event days, so be ready to hunt for a spot.
By far one of the best zoo s! It was raining on and off and we still saw all the animals! We came here on a week day. It wasn t crowded so we practically had the whole zoo to ourselves. I believe it was $6 for parking which is ample and very close to any of their entrances. When you come in they let you donate to an animal habitat of your choice! Depending on the time of year you have the option to feed the birds in the sanctuary or fish to the penguins. We fed the penguins and got some additional knowledge while we were there. It s about $5 a feed which only includes 3 fish so it s a pretty quick experience but since no one else was there that day they spent more time with us. You can bring cash which is easier or you can go around the corner and pay by card.
They have quite a few places to eat but our favorite was the food court . At first we were worried there wouldn t be vegan options but guess what! They have them!! And let me tell you the vegan burger ROCKED! We ordered 3 for the family and a bunch of sides. Till this day the kids say that s the best vegan burger they ve had! Also, If you have kids on the smaller side they have an indoor play area across from the food court and it s SO cute inside. A bunch of interactive stuff to do. All 3 children had a ton of fun and it keeps you out of the rain while still getting to visit the zoo.
Now! Be prepared (if you re visiting from out of town) because it wasn t raining at first so bring an umbrella and rain boots (for the deep puddles throughout the park) anyway. We ended up renting umbrellas which became pricey and then because the park is so big we ended up renting a stroller too! Eeeek! The prices are high for this so bottom line, if you re in Seattle and you ve already seen the Gardens, the Cruise and the Pike definitely stop by the zoo. It s totally worth it for adults and children. What an amazing day!
Beautiful zoo with great attention to animal habitats and plant diversity. Highly recommend. The animals seem comfortable and healthy. Every staff member I interacted with was kind and helpful. The food areas were great. Google said most people spend 3.5 hours there, but I was there almost the whole day and didn't get bored.
My wife and I went during the WildLights event. It exceeded our expectations as the entire zoo was lit up everywhere you looked and had beautiful animal displays. Some of the displays were animated. Although the event was focused on the lights, they did have some habitats open for viewing the live animals. There were some fire pits set up where we sat down for a break. We will definitely go back during normal hours to see all of the animals.
Went to lantern lights and was amazed they had lots of lights and displays. We spent about an hour and a half to see it all, can't wait to go back next year as we are making this a new tradition.
Extra precaution is being offered at every station there. They have hand sanitizer and ask that you use it before and after each station. Def recommend going here if your looking for fall fun! Masks are mandatory for all adults!
This is one of my favorite zoos in the states: Large exhibits, lots of greenery, new benches and tables throughout, friendly staff and knowledgeable keepers. Note that everything is expensive here but a small portion goes to the zoo. Visit early mornings during the weekdays to avoid the crowds.
It has the charm of an old European zoo. Beautiful mature trees that can keep shade even on a hot day, love flowers. I highly recommend it.
It's hard to beat a zoo like this for our area in the pnw.
Just get the year pass. Wonderful for family to get out and see friend's/animal's.
Went to the Christmas Zoo lights. They do an awesome display. So much fun!
It was so beautiful and so big. It takes at least 3 hours to see all the sections.
Even though we had to deal with covid stuff we had fun.
First Class park and zoo.
Animals look well kept and happy.
Park has beautiful flowers and plants in summer. Come early to avoid the crowds.
They do an amazing job of saving animals and educating the public
Great place. Plenty to see plenty to do. Especially for kids there are some nice playgrounds both indoors and outdoors.
The zoo is beautiful and it has great trails taking the kids through. Very educational and you will also find spots to rest and grab some eats if you ever get hungry. Parking is plenty but is a bit on the higher side in my opinion.
Took my 3 year old and 5 month old there! Had a great time. Loved the indoor play area where my daughter could run around and we could sit and relax for a moment! The staff we came into contact with were enjoyable and it wasn t over crowded which was really nice.
It was easy to find parking, the food was fast and delicious, employees were friendly and the park was very clean.
Love it and it has handicapped excess thru out the zoo. Our 3yr old grandson enjoyed very part of the zoo. Its huge so take your time adventuring.
I ve gone a number of times and I always enjoy it! Great exhibits, I feel like the animals are treated well and lots to do. We fed the giraffes last time we were there. Plus I was impressed by the food options. Obviously expensive but quite good!
A wonderful home for our wild life. We love supporting this natural habitat for the animals, flying creatures and crawling ones.
It was great best time ever the people and the staff are so nice
Amazing place for both kids and adults. I ve visited a dozen Zoos, but Woodland Park Zoo for sure takes the first rank. The number and variety of animals was great. The design of cages also was fantastic. However, other amenities such as bathrooms caught my attention by being filthy.
Woodland Park Zoo is big and very nicely maintained. We were in at 9am and out by 5pm, but we did cover the whole area in that time frame. There are some areas which are closed, and I would recommend to save those for the times when it rains. Lions, giraffes, chimpanzees, zebras, monkeys they have animals from all over the world. One tip I have is, if you have a Microsoft prime card, make sure you show it, there is a great discount with one. They do not accept prime app on your phone though.
I think some of the animals were missing but the aquariums were great
I go to Woodland Park zoo with my girl at least once a week. This zoo is amazing. From wonderful exhibits, to great conservation efforts, they really try to make life for their animals filled with good terrain and fun enrichment. They throw in pumpkins and hide treats for Halloween and have fun Christmas lights during the season. Memberships are very reasonably priced. The grounds are clean and worked on all the time.
Probably the most fun I've had in awhile with a great friend. Hopefully we will have more to come
Beautiful zoo, took the family this weekend. We loved it and will be back! Offer more healthy food options if possible.
This is the best zoo I have ever been to. The exhibits are fantastic. It was a very close up and personal experience. Having zoo personnel present at most exhibits to answer questions was icing on the cake. I highly recommend this zoo.
I would rate 5 star. I had a great experience of my life.
Cute little zoo. They have an odd set up but it's a nice place
This place is a zoo! But seriously, it has a wide variety of animals to see. My family had a great time and we were able to see the whole park while we were there.
This place has been in my families life for 3 years now. It was my daughter's first zoo and out first zoo in Washington. Starting with the animals, they are super active and most of the time put on a good show for eager spectators. If you are lucky you might catch the lion yawning and showing all those teeth. Or you might hear the wolves howling as a pack. The staff is wonderful, they really love their job and it shows in how they treat us.
Great experience for all ages! Beautiful grounds and a pleasant stroll on a nice Northwest day.
I have loved WPZ since I was a child. They have set up new social distancing and a one-way path through the zoo, which is like 95% perfect. My only small complaint is that the signs weren't clear that you would miss some animals if you followed a specific route, so I didn't get to see my fave animals (the tigers). But we're members, so I'm excited to go back when the close-up experiences are open again.
Huge and Beautiful with the animals in their natural habitats. It's great for 1yr to 100 years old enough enjoyment for everyone!
I'm a huge fan of this zoo. I think the keepers are very knowledgeable and the zoo itself is run by a not-for-profit. The landscape is beautiful and is pleasant to walk through. The tiger, small clawed otters, grizzly, and jaguar enclosures are some of my favorites.
The food is only OK but you can bring your own and there are plenty of spots to picnic. The store has some unique stuff and the pricing is pretty much what you expect from a gift shop but there are plenty of toy options for kids.
If you live in the area I think it's definitely worth it to get a membership and for visitors, there's always the Seattle City Pass thing.
This zoo is spacious in terms of the layout and walkways. However most of the enclosures for animals seemed too small and not well-kept with overgrown forestry. The actual viewing areas are small-medium sized so with the new covid rules you will have to wait for others to pass before you can see anything to abide the 6 feet. The animals today were all in hiding so it was disappointing to walk from one exhibit to another. Also one of the restrooms were closed and the next one was pretty far away.
Interesting!!!!
Was good look the differents animals there
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Our kids had a blast!
My husband and I really enjoyed our visit. Keep in mind you'll likely have to pay for the toll bridge and Zoo parking is $6.50. The extra expenses didn't take away from our trip. It was cloudy and a bit chilly, but there were plenty of active animals to see. We came right before feeding time for the hippo, so we stuck around to watch that. There's several bird exhibits where the birds roam freely. The glass windows for the more dangerous animals get pretty close so you can usually get a good view. It's a nice place for a day trip.
A fantastic example of the PNW wildlife. Great Zoo for children.
The Wildlights event is a great time for all ages! Anytime you come here, however, is a wonderful time. Staff is kind, park is impeccable, animals seem satisfied.
Only went for the wild lights, but it was super disappointing. Most free Christmas light exhibits are better than this.
I love this zoo! It is so beautiful! I love that the animals look and seem healthy. I also love that they set up most of the enclosures in a way that even during nap time the animals are visible.
The place is great but the food very expensive there... just bring snack if you can, otherwise you will spend a lot of food!!!!
We had a great time here. Unfortunately not many of the animals were out, or they were out seeing the doctors. We went on a Friday so it's not what I expected. So great that we have this wonderful gem hidden in the middle of our busy City.
I love this zoo! The animal exhibits are nice and spacious, and the staff is always friendly. I had such a good time during my previous visits, I have now become a member. Great for a quick visit with the kids to enjoy some lunch in support of the zoo, or to check out the new additions to the zoo family like the baby Gorilla and Tapir. Easily stay all day with the park like atmosphere that is near the carousel. Perfect spot to enjoy the shade, let the kids play, or have a picnic.
Our family had a great day at the zoo. We risked a busy Sunday visit, but it didn't feel nearly as crowded as we had expected. We arrived at about. 11am, were able to find parking with relative ease, and had a great time walking through all the different areas seeing a slew of different animals. The only drawback was the price of admission, but as a special treat for our little ones it was well worth it.
First time returning in 8yrs and was very impressed with the upgrades and improvements made to the Zoo. We will be returning more often to enjoy with our family.
