I'm a huge fan of this zoo. I think the keepers are very knowledgeable and the zoo itself is run by a not-for-profit. The landscape is beautiful and is pleasant to walk through. The tiger, small clawed otters, grizzly, and jaguar enclosures are some of my favorites.

The food is only OK but you can bring your own and there are plenty of spots to picnic. The store has some unique stuff and the pricing is pretty much what you expect from a gift shop but there are plenty of toy options for kids.

If you live in the area I think it's definitely worth it to get a membership and for visitors, there's always the Seattle City Pass thing.
