This thing asks you to describe your experience- well ours was not good at all our mother was in the place for a very short time and is now in the hospital in ICU. I would recommend sending your loved ones else where. This place is so out dated and dirty. Our mother would have to wait for almost 20 min for anyone to come and see what was needed and that was when someone was visiting her who knows how long if we wasn't there. If I could give this ZERO STARS I would!!! Very sad place

My sister lives here and I am hoping to get her moved very soon. The nurses are mean to the women. One told my sister last night when she was changing her that they didn't have to wipe her butt. She then told her that her hair had to be the worst one there. 7 times now in a year they have run out of her medication. When I call I get the run around. It's always someone else's fault. They told me they have an emergency stash of all meds but are not allowed to take meds from there even if some one runs out. I have been told she has to wait her doc is out of the country. She has gone without important meds and pain meds for a week. If my sister wants to get up to go to lounge or cafeteria they get her up then continue to leave her out of bed by telling her they are short handed don't have time to get her back in bed. . So they leave her there for 6 to seven hours. She has been called bad names by employees. I hate seeing her being treated like this. I have gone there to find her in a wet bed many times. We can't be there 24/7. I would give a 0 star review if it was possible but you had to check a box to write a review. The food is 90% of the time Un eatable. Why would u serve spicy food to 80 an 90 year old people. My sister would like to do some of there games a social things in cafeteria but can't get any one who isn't to busy to help her get there and back. I worry daily about her care and the care of many other guests in there home because you can tell the level of neglect. You can ring a buzzer and wait two hours for some one to come. Then they turn it off and say be back. Yep in another hour if they remember.

I have been working at Medilodge of Grand Blanc for 3 years and I genuinely love it here. We have a great therapy team and very caring nurses and respiratory staff. I am proud of the staff here and all of the hard work that is being put in to make this a great facility for our residents. I'm glad to be a part of this team.

Continuity of care. This place is the worst of the worst. Not one of the nurse's will read a chart the have given wrong medications or just out and out not give them the aid would rather sit at the nurse's station and play on there cell phones. There is total of 5 aids out of 55 total that I would give an A+ the rest are a C- or less the nurse's 6 out of 20 total get a B+ 2 get an A. The rest are off the deep end. Hope fully the State will step in and straighten the place out before they close it. I feel bad for the good ones.

This place is worse than terrible. The nurses are a joke like to take breaks as soon as their shift starts you go looking for them your told they have stepped out of the building. Never felt so guilty in all my life walking out that door at night. Patient is home after being dishcharged from hospital and improving daily 2 wks that he was there developed severe sores from the neglect don't make your loved one suffer by sending them to Medilodge of Grand Blanc

The care here is incredible.I had no idea what to expect! But I am overwhelmed. The staff is so caring. They are kind and gentle in every way. They do everything they can to make you feel comfortable. I wish I could give it more than a 5 star rating.

I have worked at Medilodge of Grand Blanc for over 3 years now. I have built a great relationship with staff members and the residents here and would not want to be anywhere else. I look forward to coming to work and being with my extended family on a daily basis.

UPDATE: After less than 24 hours leaving and transferring to a different facility, my family member is up walking on her own with a walker, talking, recognizes family member again, eating, took a shower, and looks and feels more like her old self. Amazing what proper care will do to a person.

The aids are TERRIBLE!!! My family member was only there for 4 night and she was not going to stay another night there! Unbelievable the way they treat those residents, keeping them drugged , not answering call lights, and then tell them to just use the bathroom in their pants instead of helping them to the bathroom...smh and so much more. I wish I could give them negative stars!!!

My grandma acquired a nasty bug while she was there for rehab. It was too deadly for her at her age, she died from that bug. Why doesn't your staff pay closer attention to the infections of the patients they put in the same room? I am beyond devastated. Why do you instruct your employees to rate and review on here? That's what GlassDoor is for. TO THE POTENTIAL NEW PATIENTS: VISIT ON A WEEKEND AND YOU'LL GET AN EYEFUL.......UNPROFESSIONAL. MOLDY. VIRAL. TRANSPARENT INTENTIONS FOR PROFIT, RESULTING IN POOR CARE AND UNNECESSARY DEATHS. TRUTH.

I have worked in this building for 30 years. I started with floor care, laundry, and housekeeping. Recently my mom got sick and I brought her here to keep a eye on her since she has been here they have done a lot for her, her eyes were bad, she had a hard time seeing, she got surgery on her eyes. She likes the staff. And they do a great job taking care of her. She has not had any complaints about anyone here. I know if I'm not around she is still safe and if there's is a problem I know I will be contacted.

This place is an abomination.... Please don't send your family here. If they have to go to the ER at any point in time get your loved ones belongings before someone else does. They constantly smell of human waste, staff is mostly on their cell phones rather then working. They do have some good workers but day shift is the worst. When my mother in-law went to the hospital they didn't call to let us know, we found out from admissions! Sure you can call adminstration and they will write a grievance but let's see where that goes. I am scared for my mother in law but cannot give her the care she needs but might have too chance home care to give her a better shot. We are finding a different location and spending the extra on gas

Overall I think that the staff does try to provide...

Overall I think that the staff does try to provide good care. However, there are issues there involving the management and owners which affects the patient care in a negative manner. This nursing facility is owned and managed by a corporation in New York. If you look at the website you will not see that mentioned anywhere nor will you see the names of any administration whom you can contact with problems. Problems with this company include frequent turnover of management and administration at the local level, not paying some employees promptly, sometimes for months. Pay is lower than the area average, and the managers of the units have less than a year of experience. Very little attention is paid to records, and while staff do attempt to provide care, their efforts are not always fruitful due to frequent changes in management with resulting chaos. There is a shortage of employees (purposeful, to save money) which result in some strange practices such as requiring both nurses and assistants to take turns working their lunch hour in the resident dining area as servers and busboys! There is insufficient room and departments such as respiratory (very important as this facility accepts vent patients), wound care, and others must use supply rooms for their office or sit where ever a spot can be found. And where do these departments store their records or supplies? Answer: where they can. This results in frustrated staff who are reduced to spending a lot of time looking for records, missing items, and a quiet place to do their paperwork. No wonder the records are in such a mess! There are many other problems, mostly related to the frequent turn over of staff and problems falling between the cracks. As they say, problems roll downhill and these issues come from the top down. It's too bad because patients and staff alike are suffering due to the mismanagement. As a former nurse I found doing care difficult because I didn't receive my paychecks for 6 weeks and I was constantly worried about how I was going to pay for gas or pay my bills! It was a daily fight, calling payroll sometimes several times a day trying to get the problem solved. I constantly received references to the New York office who issues the checks but never was able to get a name or number to contact, very secretive! I had the impression that they liked the turnover due to the lack of interest in solving problems (maybe because they did not have to pay for benefits for staff who left prior to their 90 days?). Really, not a place I would consider returning to or sending a loved one to. Think about it, wouldn't you rather work in a place where management does their job so that you can do yours? No wonder there are issues with care!

Had to give a star just to comment. No star deserved a law suite yes. Hair was so matted had to have it cut to get them out. Skin crustie, never shaved it took 3 of us 3+ hours just to clean her body. They said she wouldnt eat home 4 1/2 later days she has had all home made meals hamburger chicken wraps, omelet s, pancakes bacon, beef stroganoff, and more. Never once did pt or ot and she was doing well with her hands and arms before. They just gave her a death notice. Just a shame.

Recently I had a family member at Medilodge it was the saddest thing i have ever witnessed she was neglected , the little area was in was filthy when we we visit her which was everyday you could tell that she was not being taken care of in everyway no one should ever be treated that way people beware where you put love ones especially when they can't talk for themselves the staff appear to be friendly and caring but don't be deceived by that this is not a nice place even if you are sitting there watching them.

My son passed away who stayed there and instead of getting a card or even a phone call I get a bill. So to me he didn t mean nothing to you but money and I think that s sad. I really think that if he never would had came there his health wouldn t have been that bad. Because he didn t get physical therapy although you were billing his insurance for it. They didn t check on him only when they made their rounds and my list can go on. I m glad that he didn t pass away in that place but at the hospital . Although Medilodge was the reason he stayed at the hospital more.

I have been working at Medilodge for 6 months now, I can say I love what I do. I have a lot of fun with the staff at work that makes the day go by fast. Everyone is very trusting and helpful. The nurses are really understand and there to help when you need it. The residents really enjoy your company and appreciate everything you do for them. Its overall a good work place and I highly recommend working here or putting family in this home.

Absolutely horrible...... I would never recommend this place to anyone!!!!! My sister was sent there for rehab after a Brian injury.... They promised that they could give her the therapy she needed in order to get to a place where she could do more intense therapy.... What a joke. The therapist Wouldn t send daily up dates to the insurance company, they only do reports every 10 days.... The insurance company took it as if my sister wasn t progressing.... So then they insurance company wouldn t pay for therapy... I couldn t get the Case Woker Laura Norman to return my calls.... My sister was in this hell hole for 71 days 61 days NO therapy....... nothing!!! I had to be there 10 hours a day to make sure she was taken care of. She was in Hurley 2 times from Dehydration...... When we Finally got her out of there her health was awful...... And she definitely declined .......
If just one person would of showed some compassion ....
I also had to call The State of Michigan and elderly abuse For the poor people who are stuck there...
This place needs to be shut down!!!!!!!!!!!
So so sad!!!!!!

An excellent place to send someone you don't like or care for.
My mother is a Quad and your staff literally left her sitting in bed until she had bedsores that will forever have her on pain medication. It took years to heal. All you had to do was turn her ONCE a day to relieve pressure from her upper thighs... apparently even just that was too much to ask.
I wouldn't send my worst enemy here.
Her name is Manda Etheredge and what you did to her is abhorrent.
How many times can one nursing home change its name?

I have worked with Medilodge of Grand Blanc for the past two years. The nursing and respiratory staff have always been responsive to patient care. In my experience they are forward thinkers and are devoted to helping their patients reach their highest levels. The therapy department is well versed in the treatment needs of their patients. I have been very impressed with all that Medilodge does for their patients. The building has a lot of heart and you can feel it if you spend some time there.

Be sure to do your due dilligence before you allow your loved ones to be sent here. This building smells moldy and musty, is in poor repair, and should be demolished and replaced. I had some issues with the quality of care here and found no resolution until my Mother was moved to a facility in Oakland County (39miles vs. 12miles very inconvenient). Management is dreadfully slow to return calls (if at all) and hardly on site if one were to show up in person to voice concerns. Check with The State of Michigan and google some of the people's names that supervise the operations of this place if you doubt my opinions.

I can honestly say that Medilodge of Grand Blanc have good employees who work really hard and diligently to make sure that the residents are well taken care of. I believe that every nursing home facility have there flaws and short-comings. However, for what I can see, Medilodge of Grand Blanc are trying to make improvements on the quality of care given to the residents and they are trying to make renovations to the current facility.

Please research this place and do a weekend visit to see what care is really given. I worked for this place for a brief time and any place the employees complain about on a daily is not somewhere to send your loved one. Google this place and do a pop up visit!!! Very unprofessional and bias management making it hard for the very few good employees they do have!!!

They don't wear gloves when giving out medicine, they also don't clean the blood pressure culf after each patient, they only get cleaned once a week, they don't check on them regularly and they get cleaned when they feel like doing it. But there are some people there that actually care about their patients but there's some who is just there for a check . They should take a training class at least every month to freshen up on what they don't do.Because I'm getting sick of telling them myself about things they should do even when I'm not there watching.
