An excellent hotel in a very central location, the Trafalgar provides, large well-furnished rooms and attentive service. The hotel appears to have been recently renovated, which means that the rooms and hotel spaces are immaculate. This is in stark contrast to many other similarly classed hotels in London whose age tends to show. The staff were very helpful, and were able to secure upgrade benefits through the Hilton Honors program without having to ask.

Just hotel, super location. reasonably high price.
roof terrace was closed (that was one of the reasons to book this hotel) and the wifi has to be paid for. rooms are just okay. 4 stars mainly because of the location.

Lovely historic property that's kept its roots but added the Hilton standards and service quality. This was our second time here and continued to enjoy our stay. Service is consistently great and love the mini fridge amenities refreshed daily, what a great addition! Only caveat would be the pull from Concierge. Understandably this is not a 5-star luxury property, but it would be helpful to have concierge with more pull with restaurants and exclusive entries. When we stayed at the Intercon Park Lane, Concierge made magic happen. Also, our Housekeeper kept refilling/adding more bottles of toiletries, even though we didn't use them. By the end of a 3 night stay we had 11 bottles sitting on our bathroom counter - wasteful!

Lovely staff , attentive, really accommodating since we hadn't reserved a table ; calling in at the last minute. Fantastic view on a sunny day watching the world go by whilst sipping champagne. Very conducive to wanting to stay longer, relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to return.

This is a fantastic hotel. We arrived here late one evening and our check in was quick and courteous. The hotel staff went out of their way to get us comfortably settled into our room. The room was a double queen and it was perfect. We had a great view of Trafalgar Square and the busy circle surrounding it. It is within easy walking distance of many shops, restaurants, and attractions.
The restaurant is very good as well. The food was great and the service was excellent. The hotel was pricey but worth every pound sterling we spent for it. Next time we are in London we are definitely staying here.

Amazing hotel and staff!

Amazing hotel and staff!
Cocktails and finger food served on the ground floor by highly trained bartenders who still consider education and good service the basis of every profession. Get advice based on your preferences but entice even if you are not a big drinker because a mocktail (non-alcoholic cocktail) will delight you. Then if style and class distinguish you, or if you want to make a magical atmosphere, book a table on the Roof Top from which you will enjoy a wonderful view of the enchanting Trafalgar Square ... recommended even if the temperature is not the same. better given the possibility to enjoy the terrace also in the covered area. Multilingual staff will always be at your disposal. Enjoy !!!!

Visit the roof top bar, grab a drink & dinner, preferably at sunset (I was there in May 2015) and pass the evening away with friends and a great view overlooking Trafalgar Square, The Eye and Parliament off in the distance, you won't regret it.... Just remember on the weekend's the Tube shuts down (I think) @ 00:00hrs.......... we missed it!

Fabulous hotel. The most friendliest staff you will ever meet. All very helpful and knowledgeable. Lovely room with 2 double beds suitable for a family of 2 adults and 2 children. Mini bar all included in the price of your stay. Comfortable beds. Food was excellent. Breakfast was one of the nicest hotel breakfasts we have ever had. Excellent location for shops restaurants and theatres all within walking distance. Would not hesitate to stay here again. And also a lovely rooftop bar. Wish i could remember the names of the lovely men at check in and checking out as they were very nice to us and very friendly to the children.

A well appointed hotel right on Trafalgar square. The hotel's decor is modern British. The theme is pop culture. Rooms are good size, with all the amenities one might expect. The bed is comfortable. The shower stall is tiny, my one complaint. There is a nespresso machine in the room, a great luxury. Staff is friendly and attentive.

Amazing hotel tucked away in a nice corner in the heart of busy London. Amazing rooftop view and the staff was extra accommodating for us and our infant child. Amazing service and generosity.

The hotel is beautiful. We stayed in the family room which was perfect. A nice king size bed for the wife and I and a fold-out queen for our 3 year old. The staff are very polite and welcoming. The all inclusive breakfast is delicious and quick. To go items like muffins are nice too for quick out the door days. The hotel is also nestled around many restaurants and places to see. Would absolutely come back,!

Racist server insisted my wife (a woman of colour) present her credit card to be held hostage before she would be served. He insisted it was the bar's "policy" . We watched as the rest of the white patrons were served without presenting their cards.

Disgusting.

Stayed in one of the suites. Their bathroom & shower were the best parts of our stay tbh. Absolutely enjoyable. Sofa bed in elevated living area was a nice touch. Definitely gives you that little bit extra square footage

Awesome hotel. Fantastic rooms, great service, amazing rooftop bar and fabulous ground floor bar with truly exceptional cocktails - try an old fashioned. One and only gripe is the breakfast, which was ok, but not brilliant. Also, if you wanted to order off the menu and not have the buffet you pay full price, which is not on. Other than that small point, I highly, highly recommend it.

I am a Diamond member and stayed at this hotel 4 years ago when the Iceland Volcano erupted. It HAD a fantastic staff who made me feel at home. This was the reason that I re-booked this week for vacation starting on the 4th of April.
Everything has severely gone downhill. The AC in the first room did not work, was fixed by maintenance then broke down 4 hours later. They said they would look into moving me to another room (this was 10pm with a skeleton staff) and I had to wait and keep asking them if it was possible. One hour later we moved. The room we moved to had working AC BUT the vanity mirror in the bathroom was missing. Seems like no one cares about the upkeep and maintenance of this hotel. Also, 4 years ago, as a Diamond member you were given FULL breakfast, now you just get continental. In two days of stay there were many other incidents of low quality. Very DISAPPOINTED. Stay at another Hilton if you are Diamond and want your expected service for your brand loyalty. You will not get it here. Posted by M. Glover

I love how they renovated the rooms. I have been staying here for 10 years, and the hotel started to feel that it needed a refresh. The rooms look very smart and beautifully appointed. The bed was very comfortable, and I loved the new Molton Brown toiletries. The staff are friendly and courteous - as always. The new restaurant is great. Like, really great. I had lunch there and enjoyed it very much. Breakfast (a continental one was offered for free as a Honors benefit) was great. The only let down was a virtual lack of any Honors recognition and benefits. I was asked to pay for any upgrade higher than one category, which felt really cheap. They used to offer drink coupons (I guess because there is no lounge) but that was removed. Still, a great place, and I love coming back here (and would gladly do that again).

Overall a nice hotel with very large rooms. They look a bit old, but that wasn't really an issue. The wifi however is extremely slow unless you pay for the Premium access. The breakfast is excellent and the hotel is perfectly located in front of Trafalgar Square. Not much choice on room service and expensive tray fees (5 pounds).

I m so glad that I decided to pay more for a hotel and chose the Trafalgar St. James. The room was clean and very modern. The walk in shower was push to start! I ve never seen that before lol. Complimentary drinks/snacks are provided in the refrigerator. You can drink/eat them all each day and they ll be restocked the next. I choose a room/breakfast package that was a great value! It was a full English breakfast buffet with a variety of pastries, charcuterie and the best plain yogurt ever. The rooftop is the cutest and has the most amazing view of the city. I ordered room service one night and must say I had the best fish and chips ever! The streets were blocked off due to a race on the day we were scheduled to leave. The concierge arranged for us a limo and walked us/pulled our luggage to our pickup point. We walked several blocks, so were most appreciative of him handling our bags. I wish I could say I didn t have a single complaint, but there were a couple gnats in our room. Thankfully we didn t see them until the last day, but that s the reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

An amazing hotel placed in the heart of London. Enjoyed our stay and thought that we wish to stay longer here. I give it 4 starts for two reasons:
One is at the breakfast, the apple juice was sparkling meaning that it was off; but the manager solved it quickly and apologised.
Secondly on out dinner at the roof we had some minor issues. We joined that view after the sunset meaning not a lot of light was given by the sky. Unfortunately the waitresses only gave us small lights after we nearly finished our food. Also at the ordering it looked funny and kinda embarrassing for me that the waitress put down our order on a peace of paper which she took out from her coat just the moment ago.
Other than these we had an excellent stay. The guest manager gave us a lit present for my name day which lifted up the whole experience.
The food was amazing and the cocktails were well made and had an amazing taste.
Definitely recommend it to every person.

I recently stayed at The Trafalgar St. James with my boyfriend for a few days at the end of June. The morning of our checkout I realized I had forgotten an expensive new coat at the restaurant I had eaten at the night before. We had to catch a train at 11 am to Amsterdam and the restaurant would not open until noon. As a last ditch effort, I asked the hotel concierge if there was any advice on what I should do. Without hesitation, he took down my information and the information on the restaurant and said he would try and track it down. No less than a week later he had driven to the restaurant personally and confirmed the brand of my coat and put in storage at the hotel until I gave him an address to ship it to. My coat arrived at my home in the US before I even got back from my trip. This kind of service was beyond anything I could have imagined.

On top of that remarkable effort on their behalf, the breakfast was beautiful and delicious, the rooftop bar had spectacular views, the newly renovated bar in the lobby was stunning, and the rooms were magnificent. Whenever I am lucky enough to visit London again I will without a doubt be staying at The Trafalgar St. James. I am also going to recommend this hotel to anyone who is going to London in the near future.

We have stayed here many times in the past few years but were amazed at the make-over on our last visit! Gone is the rather cold and dated decor and now the bar is a lively and welcoming place to sit and have a drink in the evening. The rooms are better too - more sound proofing so that you don't hear the traffic anymore. Staff as always are helpful and friendly. well done! The location is perfect for visits to the theatre.

The Trafalgar is one of the most extravagant hotels i've been to. It has excellent service and quality. It is very central in London which is helpful if you just want to walk to the National Gallery, or the Underground (which will take you pretty much anywhere). It is also right next to the next to the Trafalgar square. It is a nice hotel and I hope to go there again.

Excellent hotel , i was not able to visit inside but it looks really great and awesome I really liked the place. Most happening place in London and at the center. I liked the culture of the london very much. The street singers are the main attractions here. I loved to listen some of them. It is near to piccadilly, oxford street, regent street, London china town whose are the prime attraction in London. It is really a happening place with lots of attractions.

Actually very pleasant surprise, restaurant has nice decor, great service, lovely food, and good selection on the menu.... Well done! Terrace on roof top a bit overrated... cosy, good views, but nothing too exciting

touches like free soft drinks from minibar. The rooftop bar is a highlight. Location is very central, maybe too central. Nothing but tourists and monuments around

As you walk out of the hotel, you re about 5 meters way from Trafalgar Square. Location is A+++
The rooms are spacious and the beds are heavenly to sleep in.
We ve stayed here for Two nights and would love to come back on our next visit to London.

Came for a quick drink at the roof terrace. Staff were very welcoming and I was seated quickly without a reservation at a window seat. Although not the largest roof terrace, the view of Trafalgar Square and parts of London are quite a sight. Cocktails are creative and reasonably priced. The burger I had was great.
Would go again
