Megan Jablonski Review of The Standard Hotels

During my stay I found an open red bull in the fridge, food crusted on the edge of the living room table, holes in the duvet cover, and the shower would not drain properly, which is open to the rest of the bathroom, so I had to mop it up with towels. I informed the front desk of the red bull as soon as I noticed it. Right before checkout I saw an open seltzer water on the shelf, and upon checkout I found I had been charged for $60 of mini fridge items, which they did remove from my bill. However, the next day after I left, I got another charge for $75 of items that I did not have either. Not only is it unsanitary to leave items from previous visitors, but it seems to have caused a lot of confusion.
On top of that wifi was slow, room service food was cold and soaked in grease, but at least the staff was nice.
Edit:
While the hotel was very helpful with the first accidental charge, they were not as kind with the second. I was charged for a $55 bottle of tequila among other items. When trying to get a refund I was redirected to a phone line that would not pick up. I was able to get slow responses through email. Through those emails, I was told that the staff confirmed the removal of the items and that the housekeeping follows up with what was taken out of the room after the stay. I understand how mini-fridge charges work, but I didn't touch those items. They were condescending and said they would do an adjustment as a one time courtesy. It is not a favor for me when you incorrectly charged me for items I did not consume and were probably not in the room in the first place. I see other reviews stating the same problems. Please fix your system. When there are open items in the room on arrival, you obviously aren't tracking your mini-bar properly.
