Sat at the chairs next to the ice rink and had a drink. The chairs had a fur throw and a fleece blanket, which were super nice as it was snowing. But the heaters and blankets made it cozy as the kids skated.

Terrific service. Great views. Clean, comfortable room, with an unobstructed view of your SO showering through the glass bathroom wall. That sort of place. Only complaint was that the mini-bar was well stocked, yet no in-room coffee option aside from a $20 4-cup pot from room service. "Should we start the morning with a $20 bottle of champagne from the mini-fridge, or a $20 pot of coffee?" Difficult 9AM decisions at the Standard.

This is my personal favorite hotel in New York and possibly in all the places that I've visited. The Standard did an amazing job with the atmosphere and the interior. The staffs were lovely, especially the front desk. And it would be wrong to not mention the stellar views.

This is such a fantastic place to stay. The rooms are large, for NYC, and very comfortable. The shower/tub is huge - and the water gets HOT and has great pressure. Only downside: no drawers for your stuff, or luggage stand.

Hip hotel located in the heart of meatpacking, surrounded by fancy stores and right next to the High Line. Small but well appointed rooms. Can be noisy if you are staying on upper floors (13+) or near elevators. Lobby and rooftop bar are a scene.

I am overly nice when it comes to reviews in regards to businesses laid out like this hotel. The rooms are cool and the area is decent. However, try and deal with the staff. If you have a large group, they will treat you absolutely terrible. My group was perfectly fine paying what we paid, with that said there's a certain expectation with basic hotel concerns that this hotel did not care to adhere by. Why would they? We had to pay upfront. This was a wedding party and the staff really disheartened us on the first day. Our group made it work and we had a great time, despite some of the staff. Some tried to help but the terrible/unprofessional staff members outweighed the few good ones.

As a guest at a party in the Boom Boom Room at the Top of the Standard, this is a truly special venue in Manhattan. The space, the views, and the service are unparalleled. The sunset was amazing! Everyone working here was extremely accommodating and kind. The food was also delicious and creative. Highly recommended attending any event at the Standard!

First time back in several years. Trendy as expected, with fashionable staff and common areas. No coffee in rooms, so need to order at the bar in the morning. How can I do that when I can't leave bed without coffee? Life is about tradeoffs.

Summary: Don't Go.

Summary: Don't Go.
As a former employee of The Standard Grill, the food there was amazing. Then they try to switch it. 3 managers quit and GM left, even the head chef.
Customers constantly complain of the new menu.
Also, new managers are micromanagers and don't respect employees. Don't waste your money on the overpriced food, and help your servers by telling how bad management truly is!
Do go to LeBain though

Fancy-ish hotel with a NYC + meatpacking vibe. Rooms are small, and only avoid making guest closterfobic by cleverly making the shower wall out of glass. Free wifi is nice, but not too speedy, though there is the option to pay for a faster 6MB/s option if you so desire.

Everyone should experience The Standard once. Fun atmosphere. Several annoyances you will notice include trying to grab an elevator to your room in the evening when everyone else is going to the 18th floor club. Also, the shower is ridiculous with no door/curtain leaving water everywhere, and a bed that's a little too low to the floor. Great views from the room over the Highline. Also, be sure to check out the beer gardens.

Positive- great location & views, room small but well-stocked with travelers needs, gym was immaculate and really well-appointed.

Negative- No heads up on website or at check in that valet was cancelled - parking was a total mess. The room was filthy (during covid times, at that!) when we checked in, with gunk on the table, the phone . The staff was less than helpful (woefully inept is the honest description) in dealing with a Le Bain reservation

I travel the world in business and loving staying at great hotels. And had high expectations on The Standard highline. It did not live up to it. It was cool and trendy but also worn out and totally overpriced for the experience.

Plus for:
- location (4 stars)
- trendy
- design
- view out of rooms (4 stars)

Minus for:
- feels worn out and outdated (if you are positive you might call it vintage)
- overpriced
- the included breakfast (it was a joke: a coffee, juice and some bread and butter, thats it. If you travel the world today you are used to great buffets or tasteful menus - this was a max 2 star experience. And no newspapers...)
- pretty tired service

Great

Paid a Deluxe King but was given a room without many of the features I paid extra for. Front desk told me they gave me an ADA version of the room because it was all they had left. Not sure how an all black shower with no lights is ADA-friendly. Either way, I was not given the room I paid for, due to their mistake, and they were unwilling to refund anything.

Horrible! We went to spend a our anniversary as a treat (we live in NYC) , and we were treated so bad that we decided to skip it and go back home...
Be ready to be treated with an attitude... And not necessarily a good one...

Recently this Hotel refused entry to the lounge by a Naval Officer in dress uniform because she didn't meet the dress code. This was on Memorial Day weekend. These people seem to forget the sacrifices our men and women in uniform make so they can have their swanky hotel.

Not a cheap hotel that still trying to steal some more money from you, even if it is $2 donation. Sounds like a joke $2 who cares, but if it ends up as 30 mins of your working time to handle it in your expense report, it is not funny any more. Be careful check everything that you sign, this is their suggestion (with a bit of sarcasm). While you checked in make sure that you unchecked the donation box. Why is it checked by default? So you assume that I will pay by default? It is like you bought goods in growers store, and fond the donation item in your receipt, and you ask why is it there, you didn t tell me anything. Oh sir didn t you notice that in the receipt your signed was the check box, by default you agree to donate. What will be your reaction? Oh sure go ahead why don t you put there $20. On wifi connection page on the place where terms and conditions check-box suppose to be, they have fast internet for 10$. So be careful they have some tricks. Unprofessional service that will transfer you to dead phone before you end your sentence.

Very cool hotel with a retro design inspired by late 60'ies Scandinavian design. Location on top of High Line park is awesome and the nightlife and restaurants of the Meatpacking District is just outside the door. Only thing is that even though you have floor til ceiling windows the view might still be a bit boring depending on the room.

Mixed experience. Location and general vibe is fantastic. Buuuuuuut, the reason 3 star is as follows. We stayed on 9th floor and could still hear music from 18th floor and kept us awake until early hours of morning. Even so, OK - young hip crowd, no worries. We figured would join them. Well not so easy; entrance is outside and we were not allowed up. We discussed with staff...wife had a few drinks and spoke her mind less conservatively - the response we received was that they were going to call police - not sure for what :-/. Overall disappointing. Will not stay here again and do not recommend it.

Considering the location and sweeping panoramic views, this hotel should be much better. The restaurant food and drinks have always been hit or miss, while the service in nearly every area has almost always been substandard. The rates here should demand much higher levels of service and quality.

I have returned for meetings and conferences which fortunately have always been hosted well.
