Went to see comedy on a whim, and the show was great. Comics were not well known names, but the exceeded expectations. Didn't try the food, but it looked good. Mocktails were delicious. Place has a good vibe. A little upscale, but not snooty.
My wife and I were here for the the 9-10-17 late show and this place is awesome. The food was great, drinks were strong and the show was hilarious. We will definitely come back next year when we are in town.
It was a wonderful evening. The comics were great and the staff was very pleasant and welcoming. Great place to go to get away for a few hours. Hope to visit again.
Always a good time and a good choice for a weekend adventure!
Great food, a little pricy but it's worth it. Hilarious comedians!
Beautiful and bigger space with great comedians as always
Recommended if you are looking for a place to enjoy stand up shows
With the weather being so gloomy on the weekend, this seemed like a great indoor activity. We arrived at the club and sat at the bar for our seating for the show. The server was very friendly and when the time came around to be seated we were politely directed to our table, which was right in front of the stage. Yes, and you know what that means, question time! It was great though, we laughed as hard about the pokes made at us. Especially the fact that they had a Canadian traveller sitting amongst them, not bad eh?
We ordered the truffle mac and cheese, we both knew that we just HAD to try it. Two words, No regrets! We, sorry, I gorged on the healthy portion size and when I say healthy, I mean like caveman healthy :-D Sliders, truffle mac and cheese and a few glasses of wine warmed our bellies while we listened to the wonderful line up of comedians that night.
We got really lucky with the standup lineup that night as we had the following people help us laugh the night away:
Michael Che
Ari Shafir
Jeremy Hotz
Nick DiPaolo
I don't know if this is always the case but that night by checking in on yelp as a guest, you got a free dessert! FREE :-D We went big and decided to get the salted caramel pretzel bread pudding, need I say more? My fork didn't touch the table the whole time we ate.
Overall, it was a superb evening and as we left the club, the MC apologized for being so cheeky with us, but we didn't mind it one bit.
Will I go there again? Ofcourse!
Great stand up, no drink minimum. Been here twice before and planning to go back.
The brunch here was BOMB!!! I had the Full NYC Breakfast it was one of the best brunch plate of food I ve had! 10/10 would recommend! The bottomless mimosas were just perfect! Our server was super welcoming and very friendly! Such a great experience overall!
Nice atmosphere, cozy with some sophistication, food is quite good and the drinks are tasty, adequately priced, full and served with a smile.
Bartender Chelan made the place even nicer with her friendliness and how fast she can whip up a drink lol
The best comedy spot in NYC. The acts are amazing, the food is great and they dont stick you with Minimums...
Good ambience, walk on and headline comics, good mix. Restaurant by harold Villarosa good range of food .
My favorite go to spot for comedy shows nice stage area always a good line-up to see. The bar on the first floors great always as well always like the staff working, food also hits the spot when needed.
First time to this comedy club, but we had a great time. Very modern space with wonderful snacks and artsy drinks. Will definitely be back!
Went there for brunch. Excellent service, great atmosphere. If you're looking for comfort food and good portions, this is your spot. Jonny Cakes are really tasty. My burger was big and juicy. Haven't seen comedy here yet. Definitely want to go back for the food though.
Show and food was good but they didn't have the drink I wanted.
the toasted marshmallow thick shakes is the reason to go here. the hamburgers are good but the shakes are the best
Awesome comedy, fantastic food and bar upstairs. Downstairs at the stage is classic perfect NYC comedy club. No drink minimum and the staff is super nice. Most comedy clubs in New York have a two drink minimum and it feels like a hassle. This place there's a modest cover and no hassle, just laughs and fun!
Would leave no stars if I could. Horrible horrible place! Pizza was undercooked, crust was super doughy. Supports hate speech. Had a comedian there who made offensive jokes about Kobe Bryant s death. Would not recommend.
Have been there 6 time, have always had great food and cold beer
Small, intimate comedy setup that can really magnify the energy of a great set.
I thought the food was really good. My bf wasn t happy with his portion size but I thought it was fine. We went for brunch and we never had to ask for our drinks to be refilled. The server was very attentive and really nice. Plan to come back and try the pizza ! I took a star away because they had banana chips on the French toast. I don t know who thought that was a good idea but they need to invest in real bananas or change the menu to reflect that.
Great small comedy venue with top comedians from TV and good food
Great night! Hosts were friendly and attentive and the comedians were hilarious!
Great music upstairs and great comedy downstairs. Like that they dont have a two drink minimum for the show
hadn't been over to Gramercy recently but when I came across this restaurant it looked interesting. Went for Brunch with some friends and the food was great. Mixed and matched the entrees. Busy.... Would definitely go back.
We were very well attended! A very fun night for sure!
Absolutely Great Fast Friendly Attentive And Accomodating Service !!! Amazing Food ! Hilarious Talent !
A winner, congratulations to all. Looking forward to more comedy and delicious dining.
My favorite comedy club in the city. Great Bar, Cool Staff, Best Comedians (have seen Bill Burr, Louis C.K, Norm MacDonald) delicious food and an intimate showroom.
Nice place. Interior was beautiful. A fresh and healthy food. Staff were pleasant.
Bottomless Brunch was 10/10, the food was pretty good and they keep bringing you Mimosas
best comedy rooms in the city. best cocktails in the city and best comedy club food in the city. and with a no minimum policy, this place is a solid go to for any type of night you want to have
Probably one of the best burgers I've ever had.
And the comedy ain't too shabby either.
Great comedy. Food and drinks are ok but the talent is worth it.
This is review of the comedy club: We went with my husband on the 10pm show on a Saturday night. The first 3 comedians were ok, not great, but dissent. Pete Lee was funny. Then it went downhill from there. One of the comedians (Kurt Metzger) complained that he just does not want to do his set, because he is tired and he just ate (turkey). Another comic kept saying it's the audience fault we were not laughing at his jokes. Not professional at all. Seemed more like open mike night than a professional show.
This is club is like no other. First, the owners actually care about comedy and the patrons that support it. They show it by providing a first class experience for true fans of the artform. If your idea of a comedy show is getting trashed and taking your friends out to watch you yell at someone while they're at their job, this place ain't for you. However, if you really love it, and want to see how it's presented right, then by all means hit The Stand regularly. The club is great, the food is the best in any club I've ever been in and the staff is fantastic.
Wish I had taken pictures but I didn't. I forgot.
Went for the pulsd brunch deal. 2 entrees and bottomless mimosas, screwdrivers, bellinis, bloody Mary's for 39 bucks.
Sounds like a great deal but you're really just paying the money to drink. The entrees are pretty small and lackluster at best. If I didn't have that deal and went there for brunch? If give them 2 but probably 1 star for that brunch. The "side salad" you get is not a side salad at all. Its like edible garnish. That's a better descriptor of what it is.
I got the lump crab cakes and they were deep fried on a English muffin. They were like crab hush puppies to give you a better idea. I've had lump crab cakes and these were the worst.
Once again, the ONLY reason why I give a 4 star is because I went to brunch on the pulsd deal and the bartender that served us, he was quite pleasant and nice. He was 5 star!
The intimate feel of the comedy club is fantastic -- as is the caliber of the comedians at The Stand. Each time I've gone, they've been consistent with booking stellar & killer line-ups.
That said - if you just want to grab a beverage and something to eat, the upstairs is wonderful and has some tasty treats --- I had the 3rd Avenue (a refreshing, summery bourbon drink) and noshed on some of the Bone Marrow Dumplings and devoured the bubbling hot and delicious Truffle Macaroni & Cheese.
Highly recommend going there to catch some awesome comics and fabulous dishes.
Had an awesome night. We had booked the midnight show, which if you book online with the code MIDNIGHT is only 5 bucks, great bang for the buck.
The comedians are very good and the show is quiet long. Only complaint was that we were given dreadful seats, despite being the second group in line. The drinks are nice but expensive, so be aware.
I spent some beautiful hours in this fantastic restaurant. The delicious food combined with the beauty of the restaurant and the performance of the comedians gives you a lot of pleasure. The price is the last thing I think and it is justified.
For a comedy place, the food and drinks are SO much better than what you'd normally come across. However, it's far from worth the prices you pay- have an expensive dinner elsewhere before you come to see a show.
Wonderful experience. It had a nice atmosphere, the food was surprisingly exceptionally great, and the comedians were pretty funny. Food was slightly pricey but when you consider the show that comes with it it's a nice deal. The time here was so good that I thought about leaving a review telling people how good it is. Definitely coming back here sometime!
Great experience seeing the Stay Humble! Comedy show in the main room!
Big comedy fan! Everything about this place is great. From the great lineups of Comedians to the drinks and food! Throw in a amazingly friendly and professional staff and you have a great night! Wish 6 stars was an option! Really!!
Gets almost all the same comics as comedy cellar without the drink minimum price and strict rules.
We went whilst on holiday last Tuesday and are still raving about the experience to anyone that will listen! We are a British couple and had an absolute ball. At $5 a ticket, it's an absolute steal. Would happily pay more!! Laughed until it hurt and the location was cute and intimate. We had dinner before hand and the food was to die for. All the staff were great, especially our server Graham, and they really added to whole evening. If we lived closer, it would be a weekly outing for sure!
Speed in one night to see The Bennington Show host a Comedy 101 radio event. Thedrinks were strong and fairly cheep the table I sat at was right up front and the laughs where a plentiful.
I little cramp due to the amount of folks they pack into the basement there and It got a touch warm.
I would definitely go back for more shows.
The talent was great.. the customer service was not!! I went to a late night show alone for my first night in NYC and I was the first in line to enter. The hostess (Adele) stated she would fill the front row first then move on to the other seats. However, when she asked how many were in my party and I said one, she asked me to stand to the side. I ended up being the last person to be sat even though I was the first person in line... Then, again, sitting by myself and only had 2 beers.... The same hostess approached me 3 times telling me that I was being a distraction to the show and that I needed to stop calling out. I never called out and didn't feel I was laughing too loudly either. The only time I said anything was when the comedians spoke directly to me. After the second approach, I explained that I didn't know what she was talking about and I was only responding when they spoke to me, because it would be rude not to, but she insisted I was taking away from the show and others' experiences. In the meantime, there was a party of 5 that the comedians were also joking with that got sat in the front row (they were also behind me in line and got sat after I was told to wait); but they never got approached for interacting with the comedians. Anyway, I read another review that the same thing happened to them!! I couldn't believe it - I was simply trying to enjoy some comedy on a night out by myself, which I did, but unfortunately I ended up leaving early because I was tired of being harassed by the hostess!! Good comedy, but you can find that in so many other places in NYC!!!
unsure why the official tiktok account for this place has been leaving rude & misogynistic hate comments on my posts
The social distancing measures for indoor dining that started yesterday were great
Great service and music taste. I tried the red velvet waffles with a little bit of heat to them
Please people, if you have any self dignity, don't go to this place. I have never been treated so terribly.
If I could give them no stars I would. The only part I liked about this place was Ronny Chieng and Graham, the waiter.
My family and I came here for a fun night out before everyone goes their own way. As soon as the first comic came on, I was told by Adele that I was being disruptive. I felt really offended because I didn't understand what I had done wrong. I have gone to many comedy shows and laughing is a typical occurrence. All I had done so far was cheer for the oncoming comic and laugh.
I asked the waitress to speak to the manager. I couldn't believe that Adele was the manager. She did not handle herself in a professional way. As soon as we got outside of the restaurant, Adele threatened to call the cops on me. For what? I have no clue. I was upset, sure, but I was asking her what I did wrong and she couldn't answer me. I am a believer in the truth. I believe that although truth hurts, it is the beginning of an understanding. But Adele couldn't even tell me what I did that was disruptive. I was doing things that I have observed to be of normal activity at a comedy show, laughing and cheering for the next comic.
Adele said she was refusing my business. I know the law and yea she does have a right to refuse my business. But on a sidewalk, I have my right to speech and I want to know what I did wrong. I don't want to repeat whatever it was that was so disruptive.
Paul came out to smooth my ruffled feathers. But he too couldn't tell me what I had done wrong. I'm glad Paul offered me a solution but the night was already ruined.
Changes daily
Fabulous vintage chosen by talented stylist
Something at every price point- from vintage Tiffany & Co to Jimmy Choo and much more! Every piece is one of a kind and these girls will help you look stunning head to toe!
Don't forget to talk to Shantel about the bows and Akilah about custom designed shoes. Ann can tell you exciting history of her vintage pieces.
The stand is back baby! We missed you guys! I hope to catch an outdoor show soon! Dinner was great and the servers were super friendly and great about masks and social distancing. To go Capri sun style cocktails were fun. I hope to catch a live outdoor comedy show soon!
Terrible experience here for NYE. The comics changed out from under us (and were not funny), servers were unfriendly, and they charged us 4x as much for a bottle of champagne as they charged for a half bottle. Never never again.
Went to the 10 o'clock show on Friday and it was hilarious. Excellent comedians in a cool, cozy atmosphere. Nice bar upstairs to hang out before or after the show
The best kept secret brunch spot in the city. People wouldn't think that a comedy joint would h ave such great food as well as a good comedy lineup on any given night
Amazing food. Great Drinks, and the quality of shows and talent that you get make this an outstanding choice for entertainment. Anyone who tells you anything different is lying.
Good night out. The venue is a little cramped with limited restroom capacity but that isn't a show stopper. Unlike a lot of the other comedy clubs in NY you can just buy a ticket for the show without having to have two drinks as part of the price. We did have a pre show drink and two during the performance as well as some food during but this was handled well by the serving staff and we were not pressured to buy anything if we didn't want it. Comedy was of a good quality and nicely varied.
love the look of the place, its about time we get a fancy place that does good stand up comedy. Great setup and vibe.
Excellent spot to watch stand-up comedy. The prices are relatively cheap.
A solid comedy club with great comics. Intimate venue the way comedy should be. As with any club, if you are the type of person who can be offended by a stand-up comedian, research the show you are attending.
Great people.
Cool shows
Always something going on
Decent comedy club. Easy to get tickets to. Food is fine.
Had a great time the staff was nice and food came out quick.
Fairly crowded and disorganized. Went to a show and had tickets and got there early, still took forever to get seated. It felt like it was their first time seating a crowd. Limited drink menu. Hot and cramped downstairs.
Favorite comedy club in nyc. Always great lineups. Great drinks & food. Professional staff. But back to the lineups, always great. Amazing drop ins too. In 2 years, this club has already established itself as one of the best.
