My absolute favorite comedy club.. Drinks are good.

Fun bar that wasn't too crowded on a Friday night. Friendly bar staff, comfortable seats, and a reasonable volume so you can actually speak to the people you came in with.

Its one of my favorite comedy joints in the city. An easy going small venue with solid acts result in good times all around. Been back about half a dozen times and will continue to frequent as they continue to provide top bar service. Prices are average->below average for nyc and the food is great, highly recommended.

Best comedy club in New York. Eat the tater tot nachos and make sure you see Mike Vecchione sometime. Both are fantastic.

Cannot say enough good things about The Stand. Incredible place to see some great comics. All my interaction with the staff was so pleasant. Looking forward to coming back here, it'll be there for a long time I'm sure!

Great little room under a really cool bar/ restaurant

Saw my friend perform. It was great! Good food and cool place.

I went on a Friday night and the comedians were not really funny enough to be worth the $25 per ticket. If you go here, make sure you arrive early to avoid getting seated in a corner where you can't see and are constantly bumped into by the servers.

Always a great meal and a amazing bartenders. The wait staff is always friendly and super nice and the brunch deals make me and my wallet oh so happy!!!

This was our second time at the Stand and we had a blast!! My wife and I come to NYC from Ohio a few times a year, we really enjoy coming to Gramercy and now have made the Stand a must.

Expected a dive. Got beautiful interior at the bar and a tightly maintained and organized comedy area downstairs.

Surprisingly great food and drinks, no need to come just for the comedy. Not a fan of most crab dips, but friends wanted it - turned out to be refreshingly not your average crab dip. Friendly staff is a bonus.

Went for brunch 3x. Was good the first two times, the third time I ordered the cookie dough pancakes it was burned and severely lacking in cookie dough. I was disappointed, especially because I brought friends that time

The absolute BEST comedy club in manhattan. Food is delicious, cocktails are fantastic, the staff is great, and the talent is always top notch. Love their outdoor set up and can t wait for more visits here!

Amazing talent and pretty good food and drinks at this stand alone comedy cellar.

The main floor is beautifully decorated and has a full bar and seating. The comedy cellar downstairs is a little small but gives you that real authentic New York City comedy cellar feel. I was able to see several famous comedians.

Ive been to the stand twice and honestly its a great place to sit and watch comedy. Drinks are inexpensive and the comedians are great. The first time we had Kevin Hart drop in and do a surprise set. They get some of the premier talent up on that stage. Cool place.

Watched a few stand up shows here. Great space and acts. One of the shows was free which is rare to find in NYC.

The Stand is one of my favorite places to visit when I'm in NYC. Great selection of food upstairs and amazing comedy shows downstairs. There is no drink minimum like every other comedy club. The New Raj is my favorite drink here and I just love the tator tot nachos and bread pudding.

I wish there were more comedy clubs like The Stand here in the Bay Area with the great menus and awesome lineups.

A good variety of comics make for a fun evening, but don't let the cheap tickets fool you into thinking it's a cheap night out: the price of food and drink could bankrupt a country day school. Though, to be fair, it is not totally out of line with the price of such things in Manhattan.

I went here with a group of friends for the birthday of a girlfriend. We purchased tickets using Best Comedy Tickets, a great website which has schedules of all the NY comedy clubs. It was our first time here, and it certainly did not disappoint. Atmosphere, great food, and of course good quality comedians: The Stand has it all. Their sandwich steak is to die for, and be sure you don't leave before you have tried their delicious waffle fries. Lots of fun, so lots of stars for this place that has it all. Thanks guys for a great evening!

One of my best experiences in new York during my vacation, all the comedians are funny, sitting in the front row the jokes were not too personal so my wife and friends felt comfortable. The Mac and cheese is delicious

Always have a good time here, generally solid line-out, drinks aren't bad.

Pretty good restaurant with an intimate comedy in the basement. Their mac and cheese is very good, steak sandwich is great.

Great talent. Laughed my ass off and had an amazing time while in New York from Chicago. The food and drinks were just as good as the comedy and when the bill came I couldn't have been more pleased. Very reasonable prices!!! I highly recommend this place for an amazing night out in NYC!!!!

Whoa!!! We just got home from a night of raucous, downtown NYC, off-the-rails, "nasty" (according the the comedians themselves) comedy. Love the new home of The Stand (though we were OK with the 2nd Avenue digs as well--considering the quality of the entertainment), as it was our 1st time at the 16th Street location--que chic! Love this place!

Great prices and good food. The service was great. Make sure you try the tater tots for the appetizer. When we went with a group of friends, we got free dessert! There's also a comedy club downstairs.

This place is closed, probably forever. Google maps is not yet updated, but do not go there. Anyway... amazing area.

It was empty and the bartender still ignored me. I left bc I wasn't able to order. The cocktails looked good nevertheless

I went in mid February with three friends. We had a great time. Our check was for $67.00 which I used my Amex to pay the bill, then I collected $5.00 each to give the waitress a twenty dollar tip. A generous gratuity for sure. Several days later I noticed an additional "unauthorized" charge on my Amex for $13. I spoke withe Adel the manager who explain that it was probably the gratuity their establishment normally adds. I asked why weren't we told as they were no signage, notice on the menu or mention by the wait staff to expect a separate charge on one's bill. I's been several months of contacting Adele, the manager, who promises to reaccredit my account. Hasn't happen yet. Granted it's not a lot of money but given the principle of the matter I think customers should be informed. I wonder how many other uninformed patrons have their credit cards charged in this covert manner, and for how many years?. By Rafael

A great experience, not the best I have ever been, but we really enjoyed outselves. The host was actually in my opinion the funniest that evening, even though he was hard on the edge of being just mean, not funny

The Stand Burger and sweet potato fries were delicious! Nice ambiance and the comedy show was fun

The comedians I saw that night were very funny. The food was a little pricey and the portion size for the fries was extreme. It was a meal by itself. You can save money by eating elsewhere beforehand. Otherwise, it's a nice spot for a date or a night out with friends.

One of my favorite comedy clubs. Has some of the best comics around. And like the Comedy Cellar it's very comic friendly. Which means a way better experience for the audience. And very important...they have great food. Not just good food FOR a comedy club. But actually great food.

Nice service, good food but the sangria and the Mimosa are a bit tasteless

Once had consistently quality lineups; now it's the same rotation every week. No one likes Big Jay Oakerson.

Went on a Sunday for the brunch and Comedy show. They put a twist on the chicken and Waffles. It was pretty good the chicken was sweet and spicy it worked well. I have the crab cake Benedict it was okay the crab cakes were a little too lemony but it was still pretty good. The comics were all pretty average. none overwhelmingly over the top funny but I probably got lucky with just having a really good crowd of good people. the environment made the show a lot of fun. I will definitely come back and I would recommend it to people.

Such a great place! The old location was a great spot. This new location is even better. Awesome comedy shows and super tasty food. Amazing eats, Amazing comics.

I've gone there more times that I can count on my two hands. I've never been disappointed. Derek Gaines makes it all worth while!

Comedy scene is great. Drinks are weak & overpriced. Food is typical greasy bar food, but tastes pretty bland.

Go for the comedy. But be drunk & fed beforehand.

I went to the stand with a Pulsed voucher. Not only was 3 of our meals made incorrectly, but the voucher was valid for unlimited drinks and we were cut off after have 3 rounds....

The food once made correctly was ok. Will not be returning.

Great brunch food, great customer service, and good drinks! They were very accommodating when I rented out the basement for a nonprofit fundraiser and even let me bring in a 3piece jazz band. Really great experience!

Wonderful place! The staff is great and the space to see the shows is nice and small so you can interact with the comics. A lot of them stay and hang out after so you get the chance to meet and talk to them.

Kind of small but the crowd & staff are very friendly

My 2nd favorite comedy venue in NYC behind Comedy Cellar. Have been here a few times and never had a bad night. Bigger acts sometimes show up and try out material, which is a cool bonus if you are lucky to catch one.

We'll be back. This place has potential. I went with a friend. Our cocktails, despite the interesting ingredients, were disappointing. So was our food. The place, however, is a very nice upgraded version of the earlier Stand on 3rd Ave. The servers were nice, friendly, and prompt. Cool fun no-attitude vibe too. We'll be back.

We went only for dinner and it was wonderful! Our server was so much fun, but not imposing. The food was delicious and good size servings.

A group of us went out for a work party. Such a fun atmosphere. Food was ok, nice to get a snake and a beer but the entertainment was the best!

Nothing really to complain about it was a great experience and the comedians are funny. Nothing too special to give it 5 stars but it is a great place to visit and spend the night

I showed up tonight after purchasing tickets on Goldstar and the hostess treated me and my party rudely and said they were sold out and that goldstar was supposed to tell me. Goldstar said that it is the venues responsibility to honor all tickets they allocate to Goldstar. I ve never had problems with goldstar tickets at any other venue or been treated so badly. Will never be back. The place also had a funky odor of stale beer and greasy food, so I wasn t to upset that they refused to honor my purchased tickets.

What a great place - the food was amazing and the staff was attentive and kind!! The comedy was so so good and the set up of the room downstairs was one of the best comedy set ups i have ever been too!!! Get the pizzas and the s'more dessert!

First I have to say I don't post many reviews. Many places in NYC are outstanding and I enjoy them. However I was extremely impressed with The Stand. We were going to a comedy club and found the food worthy of a Michelin star. We had Charley as our waiter and he was outstanding. All the staff from the Hostess to the busboys were. Then when the food came out. Wow!!!!. Chef Harold Villarosa's food was amazing. I love steak and have been to most steak houses in NY. I would never expect that quality and taste at a comedy club. What an amazing night. Oh and the comics are funny also!!!

After having many great times at the last location I'm happy to say things have only gotten better with a completely personalized new venue at The Stand. Can't wait to bring friends and family.

I've been here many times for brunch with friends. The food is mediocre but the drinks are nice. The bartender Graham is wonderful. Get the pulsd deal to save some money.
