Very clean, welcome detail, very well located, a varied breakfast and everything fresh and quality.
I will repeat when I return to Rome.

Hotel Raphael in Italy

Hotel Raphael in Italy

One of the best hotels in Catalonia
The hotel is located in the heart of Rome, just one street away from Piazza Navona and close to most of the city's most important tourist attractions, including the Pantheon

Part of the story

Part of the story

In the heart of the most splendid Rome, a few steps from Piazza Navona and the most beloved monuments in the world, I still have a certain effect to see the "Raphael" closed.
Many remember him only for throwing coins at the person who came out, identified by many as absolute evil, at the twilight of the First Republic.
Instead, it is also a historic and magnificent structure, with the characteristic facade covered with American vine, the ideal starting point to immerse yourself in Roman elegance in all its meanings.
Feeling at home surrounded by many works of art is a pleasure reserved for those who know how to appreciate it.
Usually the most refined, those with sensitivity and a strong sense of beauty.
That's right, beauty will save the world.

Hotel unworthy of a 5 stars. Ridiculously small room, bathroom with shower curtain too short / no care product. Noisy at night. What about more of a hotel that has not redone its decor since 1980. Simply obsolete.

Coughed for 350 euros a night .. When we see that the St Regis or the Elizabeth are also considered as 5 stars, we wonder how the raphael could get as much.

Positive point, the exterior plant facade is pretty.

Restaurant to visit in the summer on a warm evening, best to arrive before sunset to enjoy the change of light. We eat outdoors. Mainly vegetarian menu, without particular hints for those who love meat and fish. Prices around 80 euros. Tasting menu at 90 or 120 euros. Impeccable and competent service.

Hotel could not be better placed, friendly and helpful staff. Clean, tastefully and boldly decorated, romantic baroque atmosphere! No breakfast but the coffee down the hotel makes a price for its guests.

Roof top view was ok, it took an hour to bring 2 beers and 2 cocktails, which seemed drastically over priced for the venue, however understandable due to it being a 5 star hotel. It then took another 30 minutes just to get the bill. Overall the waiter was well meaning and polite but when paying 12 for a beer you'd expect significantly faster and better service, won't be going back.

Art hotel, like an incredible view. Very attentive staff. Close to everything, you can walk to various places, including the Brazilian embassy. The super comfortable room with a wonderful bed. Spacious and with a wonderful breakfast. It is worth the slightly higher price to pay. Would go back again for sure

The hotel is framed by ivy and wrapped in a charming atmosphere. The service is excellent and above all they have a wonderful terrace overlooking Campo Marzio. The only drawback: should modernize a bit 'structure and rejuvenate customers by offering youth events

Vegetarian and vegan restaurant in the attic of the 5-star Raphael hotel, with an outdoor terrace offering an incredible view over the rooftops and bell towers of the center. The cuisine is excellent, with elaborate dishes but with a simple taste. Excellent choice of wines, even by the glass. Very courteous and prepared staff. High prices but in line with the location and the cuisine. Classy place.

We arrived in Rome two days before Christmas, and the place we had originally booked was awful. We were gritting our teeth, preparing to endure it for 6 nights in Rome, but then the hot water pipes burst, making our rooms uninhabitable. A quick search on TripAdvisor brought up the Hotel Raphael. It was right around the corner from our original lodgings, and, when my husband and I were in Rome on our honeymoon, we had dreamed of staying at the Raphael we we returned to Rome. My daughter and I walked over to the hotel first thing in the morning to see if they could accommodate our family of 5. After a conversation with wonderful Rita at the front desk, her colleague, Sanjeewa, came with us to retrieve our bags and we relocated to the Raphael.

The three children were in a beautiful suite on the 5th floor. It was sunny, roomy, comfortable, and impeccably clean. And it had hot water! Our room, on the 4th floor, was also lovely and cozy. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were lovely, and the service at the hotel could not have been better. The breakfast buffet that was included in our room rate was delicious, healthy, and plentiful. We fortified ourselves each morning for a day of sightseeing in one of the most interesting and beautiful cities in the world.

The location of the hotel, just off the Piazza Navona, was central to everything. We walked everywhere, except to the Vatican for a very early morning tour and to the Colosseum, because we wanted to save our feet for exploring the sights.

The Raphael was a gem, and we will be back! The service, especially Rita and Sanjeewa, was among the best we have ever experienced. Thank you to them and the rest of the staff for saving us from our original lodgings and making us feel at home in Rome!

Most lux hotels we have stayed in feel just like a lux hotel in NY, which is not the experience we are expecting in Italy. The Rafael feels very Italian. The staff is perfect. the room (although not large) was amazing with a bed that had dual controls to lift the head or foot. The breakfast was the best we have experienced anywhere. Way over our normal budget, but a worthwhile experience.

The rooftop itself is worth the experience. It s a beautiful view that includes St Peters and the Pantheon. Watching the sun set over Rome never gets old.

It s also lovely to have a vegetarian option for this kind of restaurant. Everything we had was thoroughly thought out and beautiful. Some of the bites were wondrous, though only a couple of the dishes were truly exceptional.

The amuse bouche was my favorite, closely followed by the gazpacho.

Restaurant with an incredible view you can see the Vatican from up there! Better still go when the sun is setting! Impeccable service and the food was delicious! The eggplant parmigiana was sensational, although the photo did not turn out good! Remember that you have to book before, because this view is very crowded!

A beautifully appointed hotel, great location and very accommodating staff. It is a "Bio Hotel" however which means several things one of which is that they have transformed one of the best dining venues in Rome- their rooftop, into a vegetarian restaurant which is devoid of anything anyone who us visiting Italy would want to eat. A shame.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. I would like to comment how pleased I was with the service provided by the staff at this wonderful hotel!
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast and the view from the roof terrace were also great. The hotel was also within walking distance of the main tourist attractions of Rome.
I want to stay at this hotel for our next trip to Rome.

You might think you have arrived in the tropics and instead palm trees and vegetation hide a jewel: the Rapahel hotel. Just behind Piazza Navona, right in the center, the structure offers refined rooms of two types: in a contemporary style by the architect. Richard Meier is in traditional style. Some suites have a lovely terrace and on the top floor a wonderful restaurant with an incomparable view of Rome. Fantastic bathrooms with blackout windows overlooking the room and large double showers! Inside you will find precious collections of Picasso ceramics and other works, courtesy of the property. Also here organic food is a must and there is a splendid vegetarian restaurant.

I specify that I did NOT sleep in this hotel, I was just having a drink on the rooftop but what I saw (lobby, elevator, corridors) left me very perplexed and certainly did not encourage me to stay here next time.
I really struggle to believe that this is a 5 star, in this case other hotels of the same category (hotel de Russie? Eden?) Should have at least 8.

The lobby is old and sad, without any appeal, the access corridors to the terrace even more: in fact, you pass by the staff offices and to indicate the direction to follow they stuck A4 sheets with printed arrows on the walls, without even doing it. effort to glue them straight, what sloppiness!

The bar itself is without infamy and without praise, for goodness sake (but in Rome it is enough to go up on any terrace to appreciate the magnificent view) but other than that, nothing special; Even there, as in the rest of the hotel, the floor would need some maintenance, the tiles are chipped and worn.
The waiters do their job but look bored, making no effort to make the customer experience more enjoyable.

In short, everything is "ok", but in fact we are very far from what should be the minimum standards of luxury hotels.

This could be such a good restaurant. The setting and the view is amazing, staff is friendly and they serve organic produce. But the food is just not good and the prices are over the top comparing to the quality that they serve.

Fantastic multi-level rooftop vantage point at this stunning eco-friendly hotel. Last time we stayed in Rome it was nearby also with a wonderful rooftop to plan your ventures about the city but this is exquisite in comparison. Rates in the 450 euros and up with Richard Meier designed rooms on certain floors beginning in the mid 500 euros range, it won't disappoint in accommodation or fine dining. There's almost too much beauty everywhere you look to take in at one time. Friendly and helpful staff will assist you with virtually any request graciously and expeditiously. The facade of this hotel is covered in greenery or bougainvillea and climbing vines that set it apart from most other properties anywhere. Quiet courtyard opposite is where you start and end your days throughout this eternal city. Within walking distance of most sites, literally around the corner to picturesque via dei Coronari, Piazza Navona and approximately 1 mile to the Pantheon and a Gelateria we enjoy too.

Great location! The hotel is in a prime location for walking to great restaurants, seeing the sites, and easy transit from train station.

Overall staff was just OK, we had one very helpful concierge (great dinner recommendations and directions!) but outside of that nothing special, if anything less then accommodating.

Our room was nice, clean and spacious enough to move around fine.

The view is among the most beautiful in Rome.
The quality of the dishes definitely below expectations and, unforgivably, the waiters who don't even know what's in the dish they are bringing you.
Disappointment.

The view is pretty amazing and it is nice to have a drink and watch the sunset over Rome. However, the drinks are ridiculously overpriced and the service is poor. It was far from being a busy evening when we were there and it took an incredibly long time for our drinks to arrive.

Very elegant, it is not my favorite terrace but it still has a beautiful view over the city. The dishes live up to the Michelin ranking it leads. I love that they are vegetarians. All very fresh in a very elegant and refined atmosphere.
