Beautiful place and the peace you feel is only a little expensive but the pass well - good breakfast and clean and large pools you can go with children - tourism on the boat is part of its attraction and is included in the price of the room

Great staff, friendly and helpful. A little overpriced for quality of room and we staying in the most expensive suite. The experience with staff and food selection made up for it. Would stay here again.

Checked out this morning after a 3 night stay and I have to say it was great! Beautiful rooms and grounds in a gorgeous setting. Food was fantastic and service was amazing. Everyone was so very nice and helpful great customer service!

Gorgeous sprawling resort. Pool and tiered seating area overlooking the lake. Loads of kids activities, plus kayak/paddle board rentals in site. Definitely expensive, but if you have kids and take advatage of all the amaneities it can be good value.

It's a nice place for a vacation, and the amenities provided are valued by all who come. From an indoor pool to the many excellent restaurants on property, the Sagamore Resort has much to offer.

Beautiful location, well appointed rooms and friendly service staff all over the place. Was there for a work conference and they did a great job of providing adequate space for all the vendors, activities and conferences. The food was very well prepared and served for the meals that we had there.

I was looking forward to my stay, and spa services that were gifted to me by an organization that gives adult cancer patients (I myself am recovering from breast cancer), so my entire stay was organized and paid for my this organization, including room, spa services that were scheduled, dinner at their restaurant, breakfast in the morning, as well as all gratuities. It was beyond uncomfortable that everywhere I went (except for dinner, dinner service was amazing, the food was amazing and they knew well ahead of time who we were and to not make us feel responsible for any payments. Dinner service most definitely made this trip!), I was asked for my credit card information, etc and then looked at like I was crazy when I tried to explain the situation. At the spa, my masseuse did a good job, but cut my massage short by at least 8 minutes, and the pedicure was the worst I have ever gotten. Staff were stand-offish and made me feel uncomfortable. What was supposed to be a once in a lifetime luxury day and night for me while going through one of the hardest times in my life turned out to be an extremely over priced uncomfortable time. We were handed a bill at breakfast (where we literally took to go in order to catch the boat ride, so my mother and I grabbed a couple of donuts and some bacon and an orange juice each) and it came to $63! The woman who could see I was visibly nervous about missing the boat and had misunderstood how the breakfast worked could have explained ahead of time that we would be billed, at least we would have grabbed more to eat! (We were under the impression that the buffet was included in the price of our room and not that the organization would have to pay for it separate, otherwise we wouldn t have gone to grab any food at all and bought ourselves lunch on our way home!) Not to forget the evening before when I went to enjoy the pool, as water therapy is great for my side effects from surgery and radiation, only to have a group of 4-5 employees (housekeeping staff from what I assume with their uniforms) literally standing outside of the pool area STARING at me as I walked in the pool for exercise. It was SO UNCOMFORTABLE! For the prices people pay to stay here, let alone eat, or enjoy any amenities, the least they could so was have staff who know what they are doing in their profession (i.e. pedicure), say hi to you when you pass them in the hallway, and say thank you when you make a $150 purchase in their gift shop. I wish there was a way I could let a manager know about all of the things I experienced, but in the end, I doubt they care.

We had an awful experience. At check in they told us Orbitz gave us the wrong price because we didn't belong to triple A. Orbitz never told us we had to be members. After much arguing they finally said OK we will honor it. We were in the lodge at the very end. First night heat. Next night when it was -6 there was no heat it was blowing cool air. I was in bed with hat and gloves on. At 3:30 pm room was not made up yet. We called they said they are getting to it. My husband also suggested space heater. First space heater didn't work. Second space heater worked until 2:AM. We froze Sunday night. I hope I don't get sick. For all that they offered a complementary breakfast. Really was disappointing. Don't stay there. The front desk set the mood and it was not good.

Place is a hustle......let you book a room, don't tell you that you WONT be staying in the main hotel. You get a room in a "lodge" a 6 minute walk away from the main hotel. $350 a night + 35/day resort fee + taxes to stay in a musty basement apartment. I'm sitting in a rocking chair in the back "patio" staring at stones and some plants......below street level. Paid an extra 150 bucks to get a golf package, after check-in concierge tried calling the club house twice. After he got 2 busy signals he said we were free to call the club house to arrainge our own tee times.......I'd love to have that job. The main hotel looks awesome, but I'm staying in a basement in a separate building. Buyer be ware..... my stay at the ritz in maui was cheaper......

Update: started POURING rain around 9:30 PM. Called front desk to tell them that the drain in the outdoor "patio" was backing up with rain water and looked like it was going to start flooding our room since we were below grade. Front desk said they were gonna send someone, and I quote "right away" 10:20 some tubby dude knocks on my door and I let him in, asked him why they are showing up almost an hour after I originally called the front desk, guy has THE BALLS to tell me "yea we were busy." With what? Eating donuts?

This was our second time to stay here and both were great. I had read some reviews after making our most recent one and was somewhat concerned. A few of the reviews said they didn t see people wearing masks, staff was not friendly and room was not up to their standards. I didn t see anyone without a mask except maybe late in the evening some young people strolling through the lobby without one. Outside everyone wore a mask as well as in common areas. The elevators are for only your immediate party at a time which I also really liked. Check was very busy but plenty of staff to accommodate. Please make sure you read all the reviews and don t make your decision by a few bad ones. This hotel is very old and I think they do a pretty good job keeping it updated.

The inside feels a bit dated but I think that's part of the charm. It sits on the perfect location with plenty to do for all of the family. We attended a wedding here and had the most amazing time.

Beautiful resort on Lake George. Rooms in the main hotel are very expensive, but very posh. There are Lodge rooms that have been added to the property that are less expensive. So be careful when booking rooms.

We had some issues at check in, but other than that, the stay was great. Staff isn't pushy or over eager to serve you, the restaurants are fine, and the amenities and rooms are clean and useful. Bolton has a slew of shops and restaurants and a local grocery store and the village of Lake George has equally good shops and restaurants.

This is my absolute favorite place to go on vacation. I love the historic feel of the hotel, but also all the other amenities. The pool and overall setting/views are breathtaking. The food, especially at the Pavilion, is amazing! If you re looking for a place to stay on LG, this is it! Great for families and couples.

Now we haven't stayed there but when we called to make reservations for the spa for our anniversary the lady at the desk was extremely rude and not very professional on the phone. When we asked about making reservations we were told we would have to call back on Friday. So we call today which is Friday and we are told that the resort is closed until the 26th of March. I'm sure the rude woman at the front desk could have told us instead of drag us along. We were really looking forward to the sagamore but we will take our business and money elsewhere

I was treated like utter trash by the resort check in Miranda. She told me she had no reservation and I couldnt't stay with my family when I came for a family reunion. She then tried to double charge me when my family had already paid the resevervation. Add on to that waiting 30 minutes waiting with a toddler at night for her to finally find the reservation and I am told there is no crib when I ordered it ahead. Finally sorted things but Miranda was totally snide and unapologetic. Terrible service wont be coming back.

The Lodge Suite was perfect for our family or 4. Having the extra space (kitchen, dinette, and living room with a gas fireplace) really elevated the comfort of this vacation. With two children under the age of 3, vacationing can be challenging. Lodge #1 was walking distance to the main building. We had a walk-in suite making it stroller accessible. While there are a lot of stairs in the main outdoor space/lawn, we were still able navigate to where we wanted to go by use of elevators indoors. The staff was superb, as you might expect at a resort, but genuinely friendly and accommodating to our family. The ice bar was definitely the place to be for most while we found ourselves cozied around a campfire with s'mores kits. We enjoyed a very picturesque view from our room and snapped some night time photos of the stars over the lake. We enjoyed the nature trail but had to swap the stroller for a baby carrier since the path had ice and snow. Saturday night was complete with fireworks that we were able to view from our balcony while our children were fast asleep. We hope to come back during the warmer months so we can explore even more of the island!

Quiet ,secluded and off the hustle and bustle of the lakeside motels and resorts. They are basically a self contained compound albeit on the pricier side which is really the only drawback.

I went to the Sagamore Resort on business and it is a gorgeous place! The lounge is gorgeous with and amazing balcony to the lake, and conference building is great. The people working there are very nice and professional. This fall it looks absolutely amazing. It was one of the most amazing places I've ever been in the northeast. And I didn't even stay for the night! But I sure wanted to...

Stayed for a conference recently. The Sagamore is a beautiful old classy hotel/resort. The location on Lake George is fantastic, the views are gorgeous. Being there for a conference , I did not get to experience much of the food, the little we did was very good. It is close to the town where there are many good restaurants and lots of shops.

For the reputation and cost of this place I expected more. It's fancy, cozy rooms but the services were mediocre as well as the food. View of the lake is beautiful. They also tried to add $10 onto my tip room service, could've been the deliverer trying to add another 1 in front of what I wrote down.
Plus, I called and ordered 2 rooms (one for a friend) but got charged for 1. My friend called and cancelled his room and they told him they didn't charge for his yet. Now I learn they DID and because of an error my room wasn't charged until now. This is 2 (3 if you count the tip) issues that arose from a 1 night stay. Not returning. Not my cup of tea anyway.

Just arrived today, gorgeous fall day, mid to upper eighties, sun is out, lake looks beautiful and the driveway up to the main house makes you feel like you are in for an amazing weekend. Unfortunately this is the only nice thing I can say about the Sagamore. This is my fifth time staying here and I'm thinking my last. I am up here for the NY business council meeting and luckily work is paying. Because I would never drop another penny to pay for the Sagamore. I tend to stay at 5 star resorts and today I wish I was staying at a shack on the side of the road. Customer service, wait staff and I would like to say the quality of food but I can not say so because we walked out from two Sagamore owned restaurants to come back to the room to eat left over Chinese food and crackers. There are too many mishaps to even put in this review. But I will tell you I mentioned something to the staff at the 'Lake House' then when we attempted to get beverages at 'Caldwells' I finally had it. As it's after five and I'm still trying to feed my children lunch, I went to the front desk. What's laughable is I wasn't the only guest that was appalled. The front staff was overwhelmed by the amount of guests complaining, all for various reasons, from the spa time, to getting into a room, to restaurant wait time and lack of staff. I was told that the general manager was not on property and a different guest was told he was on property. I hope the general manager sees this and works with his staff and his facility to improve these deficiencies. I hate that I have to write this review because Lake George is one of my favorite spots in the world. I hope the Sagamore will get their act together or I will stay at other properties on the lake that are worth my money.

If your idea of a great vacation is to spend $800 a night for a mediocre motel room, then this is the place for you. The front desk staff is just awful. They make you feel like they are doing you a favor by letting you stay there. Really unpleasant, disingenuous and poorly trained. The rest of the hotel staff is nice and seems to work extremely hard. The property is absolutely beautiful and that is the only reason I give it 2 stars. We have been coming to this hotel for over a decade and this experience has been the worst by far. My family has had so many wonderful memories there and I'm sad to say that we will probably never come back. I'm not going to get into the details, but between the front desk staff and the condition of many of the rooms, its just not worth the aggravation, time and money. There are many other beautiful places to go to.
