LeShawna and Susan were both exceptionally helpful, both going above and beyond to make my stay and dining experiences exceptional. Jess and Jaimie were friendly, too, unlike another waitstaff I encountered earlier in the day.

We were extremely disappointed with our stay and accommodations. Using the hotel for our wedding guest rooms, we were hoping to receive some hospitality and welcoming. Everything we asked for was met with difficulty and upon arriving at the hotel, we never more disappointed. Prior to arriving, we were told they would not hand out welcome bags, no early check-ins would be guarantied, nor were we able to reserve space for a brunch (unless we wanted to reserve a room for $500). Understanding there are policies and procedures, I was hoping for some flexibility - especially considering it was off-season.
When we got to our room, our frustration grew. I would not normally complain about not receiving any upgrade (having brought business to the hotel and celebrating our wedding) nor complain about outdated rooms, but it seems nothing was exceeding our expectations and the rooms were sub-standard. The morning after our wedding, when we wanted to sleep in, there was a man with a ladder working outside our room. It was completely disturbing and we had no choice but to leave the room. Coming back to the room a couple hours later, it smelled of paint (from the outside work). We had to switch rooms, as the paint was so strong. The next room they gave us was old and dirty, but the most disruptive part was the pipes banging every time we ran the water.
Several times throughout the 2 nights we considered going home. Needless to say I cannot wait to get back home and celebrate the days after our wedding relaxing and in comfort. I strongly do not recommend staying here, save your money and find another place to stay.

The room was very nice. I love all the art, great food and the bungalow room was interesting. My only problem is that the valet wreked my rental the first night going to a parking garage; they weren't going to notify me of the incident. I happened to go out for some drinks next door to fire&ice and seen the car upfront was hit and the police already wrote a ticket. The police was already was out there for one hour and was in the process of wrapping up his duties. So my question was.... when was I going to get notified??? took the rental back and decided to use uber the rest of the days. Then coMe to find out the valet company didn't let the hotel know they was in accident. ok when checkout came about. They charged for valet parking! Something I didn't have the luxury to enjoy and for some Oreos in a mini bar that I didn't have. There wasnt a mini bar and we I don't eat Oreos lol! so now im getting the run around about getting the correct deposit back! After spending $1,400 for 3 nights you would think customer service would be A1, but I will say James try his best to make me happy. the next day of the accident he did send a complimentary champagne. But it wouldn't matter if I'm paying for valet and being charged for Oreos! James was off the day for checkout. So the guys upfront were clueless about everything so I'm home with no deposit and was promised a call for a conclusion. When your suppose to get a cash deposit like how you gave them. Now I'm stuck with a $800 bill for my rental and their giving me insurance company a hard time by not responding and dodging calls! I have no money to pay for a accident that I did not cause!

The resort is undeniably located in a beautiful location on Lake George and the surrounding area. The exterior is picturesque and a throwback to great resorts of the past. However, the veneer wears off quickly when you go inside. The upgraded room we had I would rate as one of the worst I have ever had in over 30 years of extensive travel for both work and vacation. The room was tiny, the furniture dated (and not in a "quaint" way) and the bathroom so small there was literally no counter space. It looked like a room you might expect to see in a 20 year old Holiday Inn for $89 vs a $1000 room in a resort. We spent the previous night in The Adelphi in Saratoga Springs which was literally head and shoulders above The Sagamore accommodations for 1/3 the price.
While the food was fine (not exceptional) some of the service was sorely lacking in not giving the extra effort to provide a truly exceptional experience that should be expected at a resort supposedly of this caliber.
I would definitely not recommend the hotel to a friend.

We love going here for lunch or dinner and sitting right down on the waterfront! The view of Lake George is amazing! You don't have to stay here to enjoy the views with a glass of wine or beer!

Super pretentious and I can't see a valid reason why. The hotel staff is more interested in receiving tips then they are with accommodating guests. I was recommended this place by some of the locals and to their defense the building has a nice remodeling and the grounds are well maintained.

Best winter vacation. So much to do for the kids and adults without leaving the property!! Room was perfect for a family of 4 and the fireplace was a great addition. Food was really good from breakfast to dinner and the igloo dining at night was a big hit with our twins. Would definitely stay here again

The resort is beautiful and all of the staff is very nice. The only problem we had is when things get busy, as they did during our visit, the actual execution of service gets pretty rough. A quick summary: The valet lost our car keys (they were quickly found, but still troubling), asked for a shuttle to the main hotel from our lodge and it never showed, no shampoo or conditioner in the room so we had to call the front desk for it, our key card randomly stopped working when we came back from dinner, asked for breakfast room service and filled out the card as instructed - the card was never collected and we never got breakfast, the valet told me to leave my car with my keys in the ignition and they'd park it and a little more than an hour later, there it say by itself, unlocked with the keys for anyone to drive off with. None of these things were major, but being as we only stayed one night, it was a bit of a rough execution.

We left the hotel in 10 minutes after the registrations. We were planning to stay for three nights in Lake view suites but the room was worth one-tenth of the original charges. The manager needs training regarding customer service. Not worth it at all.

My room did not have a view, which was ok for me, but if are expecting a nice view be sure to ask when booking.. The mini fridge in the room was very noisy, waking me up multiple times during the night. Also the people walking around above me were easy to hear, as if there is no insulation between the floors. After a tired night of interrupted sleep, I tried to take a hot shower. The water pressure was very poor, and even with the handle turned to the hottest setting all I could get was a like warm shower. (I was the only one in the room, so it's not like someone used the hot water before me.) I give this place 2 starts only because the bed was comfortable and the room was clean (although dated, but that was expected).

The Sagamore is a very nice hotel . The staff is very professional and despite the hotel being upscale it is surprisingly very kid friendly. The restaurants are all very nice and the grounds themselves are great for walking around and enjoying a nice day. You never feel crowded since everything's very spacious.

We had our wedding rehearsal dinner and our weddin...
We had our wedding rehearsal dinner and our wedding party got our hair done at the salon for the wedding and it was nothing short of a nightmare.
Dinner at Pavilion: Our party of 9 waited an hour and a half for our meals and not a single one of them was warm upon arriving.
Both my mother and mother-in-law had severely undercooked fish. My father-in-law s steak was quite undercooked and my brother in law s steak was so over cooked he could hardly chew it.
I had the seafood linguini. It was very cold but I was too hungry to return it to the kitchen. Those of our party who did return their meals to the kitchen received them back almost immediately leading us to believe they were just microwaved. My mother was so upset she didn t even want a new meal and just didn t eat at all.
They did replace the overcooked steak and offered us champagne to apologize. They comped our meals and the manager was very apologetic. Our server was very nice but there is obviously something very wrong in the kitchen.
The salon: Our hair appointments on the day of our wedding went so badly it is almost comical as I reflect on it now.
All four of the hair stylists we encountered lack training and experience. I am nearly certain the woman who attempted to style my mothers hair was not even a licensed cosmetologist. She styled it so badly she had to wash it and start over. My poor mother looked like a poodle until we could fix it ourselves.
The stylist responsible for my wedding hair was so inexperienced she asked another stylist for help. The second stylist proceeded to take the entire style apart, threw my hair extensions on the floor and started over. I was 45 minutes into my appointment when she started over. We literally had to push our wedding ceremony out because I was running an hour behind as a result of this.
The quality of the work at this salon does not match the prices we were charged for formal hair styling. not to mention we had to completely fix our own hair AGAIN after we left.
My sister spoke to the manager of the salon and did not even receive so much as an apology. The woman did not care at all and just walked away.
Then my sister went to Caldwell s for a drink while they were reconstructing my head and there was a dead fly in her margarita.
The bathrooms were also absolutely filthy both days we were at the resort.
I m just glad we had our wedding somewhere else so we did not have to relive these catastrophic events. Shame on this place for nearly ruining our special weekend.

Great place with the best view of Lake George. Came here for this awesome view and we were not at all disappointed. The hotel is huge like a castle and it's very clean. The views are splendid. My date and I went for a quick bite at Mr. Browns Pub at the Sagamore at 8 pm. Our waiter was attentive and our table outside was bug free and there was a light breeze - beautiful! We ordered to split, the Fish Sandwich and the Rubin Sandwich - both came with fries. The Fish Sandwich was delicious! The Rubin was a mushy, soggy mess! Next time we will try the half- pound burgers!

I have been coming to the Sagamore for family vacations and for business outings for over ten years. This past weekend s visit confirmed the same disappointment I had two years ago. The food (especially at Bella Vita), spa treatments, and staff are not the quality it once was and is not worth the price!! When returning from a day of skiing one looks forward to soothing sore muscles in the hot tub (which should return to the spa area) without having to dodge children who are clearly under 16. Only positive experience was dinner at Mr. Brown s Pub. The staff was very accommodating to the wishes of our party of 7. I would suggest trying the better eateries nearby.

Our stay was a memorable experience. Service was excellent. Rooms were dated but we spent only sleeping hours in our room. Ate at La Bella Vita for Breakfast and walked to town and ate at Chateau. The views from the grounds are just stunning. We opted to pay a little more and stay in the main hotel. very convenient with a quick elevator ride. View and ambiance from the pool out to Lake George is simply stunning.
