Powerscourt is a great day trip or half day trip from Dublin. Located just outside Enniskerry in county Wicklow it is easy to get to. Set in spectacular scenery the estate has a hotel, golf course and Powerscourt house and gardens. The Avoca cafe has excellent food and coffee plus views of the gardens. There are a number of craft row shops here also. The only caveat is that it comes at a price. Access to the gardens is 7.50 per person so come prepared.

I have visited this park during an holiday study one year ago. It is one of the most beautiful park that I have ever visited. I recommend to everybody who want to spend a day between nature, flowers and relax.

Good.

Really nice garden.

Really nice garden.
The shop in the building is a bit expensive but the view makes everything better.
A walk is worthwhile.
You can even get audio accompaniment and listen to the various stations

We were only able to visit for a short time, as we arrived close to them closing, but the house and grounds were beautiful. Also entertaining were the staff coming out at closing time ringing bells as they walked around the grounds to let guests know it was time to go.

Very picturesque Victorian garden: ideal for an afternoon put on a sunny day. Seeing all the gardens can take over 2hours. It is better to go in the summer or springs, the nature will be even more exceptional.

Very nice place to visit. Not far from Dublin, good picnic spot, sufficient parking. Food is good even for vegetarians. Nature at it's best, well maintained gardens, nice scenery. Good for children as also adults. We had a good time. Many photo spots, nice flowers.

It is an enchanted place, a little fake, because it is too perfect: the lawns are shaved with extreme meticulousness, there is no blade of grass, the trees are well-kept, there is no broken twig, a dry leaf, the garden Japanese a spell. Needless to say, the total absence of waste bins goes hand in hand with the total absence of waste paper, butts or other. The shop with plants, seeds and tools is also well stocked.
With the sun it was beautiful, but cold. But they tell me that in spring / summer it is full of people.

Superb place to visit for a few hours with a wonderful restaurant. Drop in to Taras Palace upstairs which displays a dolls house with miniature waterford glass wine goblets amongst other things.

A world renowned, spectacular gardens with a backdrop second to none. In my opinion nicer than Londons Kew gardens and the palace of Versailles because of the setting and overall look.

I wonderful place to visit with family or as couples. Enormous gardens that has a variety of species of trees and roses. It also has the longest tree in Ireland. Good thing they provide free audio guide devices for both children and adults. Totally worth my visit for the second time.

From the moment you pass through the gates you will see the most magnificent tree lined drive. The house was built 1741 and had 68 rooms. In 1961 the Slazenger family purchased the house from Lord Powerscourt. Unfortunately in 1974 a fire broke out up stairs destroying the roof, bedrooms and reception rooms. In 1966 the house was re roofed and was opened to the public by President Mary Robinson in 1967. There is a wonderful Avoca restaurant. A breath taking view of the Sugarloaf mountain and a magnificent waterfall. No wonder it was voted No.3 in the Worlds top 10 gardens. Well worth a visit. Garden centre , shops and wheelchair accessible and toilets. Now a new distillery where you can also visit.

Gardens were gorgeous even if it did cost 8e to get into takes almost an hour more if you choose to relax by the fountains.
I can't believe I've lived in Ireland all my life and yet have seen so little of it.

Absolutely beautiful house, could not recommend it more. It s around 8 euros for an adult to see the gardens but it s well worth it. The house itself has a restroom and there are many elegant shops inside. Don t forget there s a movie inside the house you can watch which explains the burning down of the house and it s restoration into its current state!
