They have always been the best. But.... 7+ Years of consistent ordering, upgrading and recommending has made me realize, during that, quality control and customer service have all steadily dropped to the point I don t know if I can get an order anymore without it having an issue. My last 3 in a row have had an issue in some way shape or form; missing parts, something not working, etc.
Disappointing to see an A+ company fall to the problem of growing up and then messing up.

Great equipment, great people. Needed projector HID replacement for terrible 9004 bulbs in reflector housings -1992 Volvo 740 - and couldn't have been simpler. Used unmodified housings (no grinding of bulb socket) and small provided metal washer to mount projector housing in original bulb socket. Needed to trim tab on metal washer, but otherwise straight-forward. Used intervals of 10-15 minutes at 245-275oF to soften reflector housing glue, pried lens off with two screw drivers.
New light pattern is just unbelievably good!

Visited their showroom shortly after Christmas 2018 to pick up some parts I needed for a Dodge Ram Mini H1 Retrofit. I was in and out in less than ten minutes with all the parts I needed. Customer service was excellent and the gentlemen I spoke with (name unknown, unfortunately) was EXTREMELY knowledgeable. He gave me some great install and alignment tips! The quality of the parts were astounding to me. The Mopar harness was of unrivaled quality and worked seamlessly. Really made the retrofit easy. Everything turned out great and I have been trying to convince everyone to retrofit their headlights after seeing the difference.

This place is clean, professional, and VERY well presented. The staff is prompt knowledgeable and actually enthusiastic towards their trade.

Great place to get automotive lighting, if you have a newer vehicle they have full drop-in kits already put together, or building one is super easy and comes with everything you need.

Got a Morimoto Elite kit for my Sonata from their online store. The kit was top quality and the instructions made it super simple to install (I'm not a car guy, but I like to tinker). The bulbs actually fit better in my car and are easier to take on/off than the stock ones!

Anyway, after over 2 years I got a constant flicker in one of my lights. TRS support got back to me super quick and was very helpful in troubleshooting. We discovered the part having issues and they sent me a new one almost immediately. The kit worked flawlessly up until this point and sometimes things just break down - these are aftermarket kits after all.

Wish more companies had support this great.

I ordered a set of Morimoto LED assemblies for my C6 Corvette. They shipped the lights quickly and I had them installed in not time. The videos and other data they have online is exceptional. I could not be happier with the product and their support.

These guys are legit. I am a cheapskate and after looking all over these guys had the right price and rep for genuine products. I ordered some NightBreakers and couldn't be happier. I called for help and they were great with knowledge and meeting my needs, even directed me to another seller since they didn't have a product that was optimal for one of my request. I am going back to them for another need after that because guess what?...they had the goods for that need as well. Stop wasting your time....just use Retrofit..they even have video reviews of the products so you can compare for yourself.

I tried to post an honest review of my experience with their morimoto D3S bulbs, but they apparently want to block any negative reviews. That dishonesty is even worse than the bulbs were in my opinion. This place used to be reputable, but apparently going big time has started ruining that for both the business and the owner.

Here is the exact review I attempted to place on their bulbs (which originally was 2 stars)

Unfortunately after being a morimoto customer for years I have to say I can't recommend these bulbs.

The first pair I got for my 14 Charger had the hot spots significantly lower and to the left of the original osram bulbs. I reseated them multiple times and tried them in a pair of acme projectors that I bought from trs, and had the same exact result.

Trs sent out a second set of the bulbs and I had the same exact issue with those. While trs had no problems sending replacements and ultimately giving me credit towards some new osram bulbs (which line up fine in all of my projectors), they don't seem interested in figuring out why I got two sets of defective bulbs.

I used to trust and recommend morimoto bulbs, but after this I just can't anymore.

Ordered an item online with expedited shipping only to be told they are back ordered. If your backordered put it on your website so customers can decide to buy elsewhere. Getting a shipment next week doesn t help me this week when I really want them. Will not do business with them ever again and wouldn t recommend.

Ordering was quick and easy, and the items arrived relatively quickly. Even better, I needed some help during the install and the TRS support team was quick to help me out.

I opened a case as soon as my blinker stopped working on August 19th with Morimoto. For some reason The Retro Fit Source took over the troubleshooting. They sent me an adapter that was supposed to resolve the issue. It was an adapter with a white, yellow, and black wire just plug it in and it will fix it they said. I tried to connect it in 3 different locations. I took it to Herbert Automotive here locally as well and he couldn't get it to work either. It hyperblinks on the inside but the actual blinker doesn't blink on the outside passenger side. I prepaid and waited months and months for these to finally get built and shipped out and even paid extra to have them sent by air so I wouldn't have to wait on the slow cargo ship. The last guy i spoke with said he promised the dongle/adapter would resolve the issue. Now I replied on October 31st and it appears a new ticket was opened and they are trying to start the troubleshooting prices all over again. I spent 1300 for the lights, like 150 to expedite the shipment, 300 to get them installed, and now my blinker doesn't even work. It's poor quality and poor customer service. I spent way too much money on these to not be working and am sick of the back and forth with support. Give me my money back or let me come to the TRS shop and have you guys fix the issue once and for all. Or just refund my money I'll take my business else where.

Love my tacoma 2016+: Morimoto Elite. I had LEDS before and couldn t see very well at night. Most of driving is at night! Switched to my HIDS and i can see sooo much better! Thank you for amazing products!

This is the worst place to buy any lights. I also got the worst customer service and i could give 0 start i will do it! Not recommended.

Not only is the product solid, support both during and after the process was great too!
1. I used the online tool to request assistance with questions about 35w vs 55w
2. I promptly got a response with a time for a scheduled call back
3. Got my call and questions answered
4. Placed order online
5. Realized they were local and was able to change from free shipping to local pickup
6. Picked up & installed
7. Had an issue with humming noise in speakers and one light not working after install
8. Called support, answered within 10 seconds and rep was very knowledgeable. He knew exactly what it was and told me to swap polarity on the resistor.
Only a select few Silverados have this reverse polarity and in under 2 minutes he diagnosed and walked me through fixing it.
Lights look amazing and I can see at night much better. Would not hesitate to recommend. I will be ordering my fog lights and high beams from them as well.

Read thru these reviews carefully as they tell the true story. If your product works-good for you, but if you have issues you're out of luck. They do not stand behind the product if there's an issue (again read their reviews). We have had two kits we basically had to eat and switch the customer into other brands in order to provide our customer with the service they deserve. Both of these kits failed in very short order ( one bad out of the box). Good luck if you buy from them- you'll need it.

I had their hids on my 15 Sierra and they were great. Bought leds for my 16 chrysler 200 and had lots of problems sent them a video of how I installed it and waited for support. Which was very little help and finally headlights would work then I decided to return everything. Couldn't wait 2 days for support to get back to me.

I had some questions and a problem but the team at The Retrofit Source inc is the best hands down very smart and knowledgeable about their products and if you have an issue they will figure out a solution out and help you I will not shop anywhere else for LEDs accessories and hid accessories and lights

What an awful customer service experience. I have had numerous failures behind their products. I purchased through an authorized dealer and trs failed to provide warranty replacement despite countless errors with a flawed product.

Morimoto scammed me $1500 on headlights and fog lights. I have reported them to the policy and card company.

They have moved and stopped wallin sales. Same great online service

Got a few issues here.
1. They allow orders to be placed with no mention or indication of backorder until AFTER order is placed and you are charged. I was notified of backorder the next day.

2. Filtering reviews on your site. Shame on you. I gave an honest review about the design of one of your products. Guess what hasn't appeared 2 weeks later.

3. Returns/Warranty: "Sir, take your half functioning pair of ballasts, make them completely non-functional, send us pics, and we'll send you new ones. Or send us more money, whichever you choose." Great, sell me on retrofitting my housings, where I cannot go back to halogens, then sell me faulty products. THEN when warranty is needed, leave me to rent a car to get to work. At least I can manage right now with one headlight, or the other (which ever one decides to work that morning), but I cannot make a living driving to work at 6am with park lights only.

Great products great people great cars what more could you ask for???

I bought some LED bulbs but they didnt work for me, so i returned them and thr RMA department instantly refunded me. The process of returns was easy and fast. Soon gonna buy some retrofit stuff from them.

Excellent retrofit systems with more stylus and safety in lighting

I had a "life's best" customer service experience over the last 2 days with Jay Sullivan at The Retrofit Source. I have been eyeing some new LED headlights for my truck for about 6 months now and found them at a reduced price at a competitor's site. Having worked with The Retrofit Source for my tail lights, I wanted to pass my business their way this time too, but their price was higher. I passed on the price I had found and asked if they were willing to match...Jay did much better than that. He gave me the option of a discount and free matching LED fog lights, or a larger discount for the headlights alone. I ended up getting a better deal than the lowest price on the market and free 3-day shipping. I'm super pumped with these guys and encourage you to give them a call or email...you won't be disappointed!

EDIT: called to get my replacement warrantied parts sent out and they were very helpful and quick to get them out the door.

Customer service is great just frustrated with morimoto products in general. Shouldn t have to buy two sets just to have a backup in case this happens. Unreliable ballasts but build quality of all of their stuff is top notch.

Disappointed with the specific setup, had for a year and so far the igniters melted, and then one of the ballasts crapped out. It s specifically wired for the hids so I can t even use halogen when I wait to hear if morimoto will cover.

Set was sold and put together by a retrofit rep.

This place does incredible work for custom light needs. They are a bit pricy but that price is due to the astonishing quality of the work they provide you really get what you pay for here in the best possible way.

Terrible customer service. Unable to reach the company. Ordered a headlight kit and everything came but the bulbs. Worst company I have ever dealt with.

Better quality check all around and better customer service than most places I have been to or ordered from. Would recommend for beginners and advance retrofitters.

Awesome compamy!!! I purchases projectors and a morimoto HID system from them. When i hooked up the HIDs i found I had a bad ballast. I called them this morning, I spoke to Charlie and did what they asked for the warranty on the ballast. Im extremely happy doing business with them, they are polite and made the stress of getting a new ballast seemless. They cost more than other companies, but they make up that value with their customer service. Ive never been able to get a replacement for a bad product sent out so fast. Cant wait to find another project to do so I can order again.

My windshield is tinted in 5%, prior to ordering a full set of Morimoto lights, I was running 6 light bars and a set of pods in my headlights. My mind was blown away when I could see 20x better just through regular replacement bulbs! Nate hooked me up with everything I needed and made 100% sure that I had everything the first time! Had a headlight stop working so I contacted The Retrofit Source. After attempting some troubleshooting (with no luck), they emailed me a shipping label to return the light. Three days later I received an email stating they had fixed the light and were shipping it back to me. Thanks a lot to Travis M. and the whole team at The Retrofit Source.

I have a 2006 Honda ridgeline and the halogen bulbs it had sucked! I needed something that'll put out a lot of light so I went with BI-XENON: MORIMOTO MINI H1 STAGE III PROJECTOR KIT WITH LED HALO. It was a 2 day process but it was all most definitely worth the money and time.

Got some halo prisms from here and am honestly impressed! The quality of the product is amazing overall and didn't break the bank. Also the product shipped pretty quick, in 3 days. Overall very pleased with this company and the products they offer!

1 of the best customer service I've experienced. Quick response via email. Carlos from customer service walked me through 3 steps to troubleshoot a headlight which was going out after about 10 minutes of use. We finally found out which part went bad. The replacement part was shipped out immediately. I live in Hawaii and it surprisingly arrived in 2 days. Couldn't be more happy....

TRS supplies nearly all the parts I use when building custom headlights. Projectors, retro-quik kits, HID kits and components, LED halos and strips, switchback LED bulbs, clear lenses, wiring harnesses, even my favorite brand of butyl rubber sealant. Morimoto is the best value for your money in my opinion, but TRS offers OEM parts as well for those who want the best components money can buy. Excellent customer service and communication, their employees genuinely want to help make your project a success.

I had an excellent experience with TRS! I missed a pre-order by one day and called them direct and they were more willing to assist and help me with the promotional code. I pre-ordered the Morimoto XB LED Type F fog-lights for my F150 and after a slight delay (which I was made aware of) they arrived and were just as described! I would absolutely purchase again and recommend you do as well!

The retrofit source has always taken care of me. I've retrofitted all of my vehicles and every part has come from them. The prices are great and the customer service has been good so far. If you're looking to retrofit your headlights this is the one stop shop. If you can wait they have great holiday sales too!

Good luck getting them to answer the phone or call back. Paid for 2 day shipping, 3 days later they still hadn't shipped anything. Simply wanting to cancel the order I am an hour and half in "waiting for a call back". No email reply, the "live chat" on the website is offline. Certainly don't see the great customer service they claim.

I ordered a set of Morimoto XB LED fog lights from TRS online. My lights arrived super quickly even from across the country and came with everything as described at a great price. Now I can light up the road in any conditions, as my custom bumper has these sick lights cranking out 2400 lumens. Hawt damn.
