The first place I've always gone for my retrofitting needs is TRS. Their customer service is top notch and their prices are unbeatable. The very few times I've had issues, they've been very useful sorting out my problems. Their customer support representatives are knowledgeable and don't send you in circles trying to find the information you are looking for.

I have never written a review on a business before but I am feeling the need to do it now. I ordered some lights for my truck that I needed for vehicle inspection to be able to register my truck. I ordered with 3 day shipping on Saturday so I figured it would be here on Wednesday/Thursday. However, when i got back from being on ship on Thursday I was confused as to why my lights haven't came in yet. I figured they were maybe busy or something and didn't think much of it. (huge mistake) When Friday came they still weren't here and I was approaching the weekend when I was needing to get them installed so I decided to call them. They had ended up moving the product to a pending status so they wouldn't mail it out because my mailing and billing addresses were different. And after all that my item is on back order. So here I am, without my product over 2 weeks later. So Thanks The Retrofit Source Inc.

Bought hid kits from several place an some were cheaper an more expensive . But hands down these guys are the best I've been running 1 of there complete projector kits on my suv for over 2.5 years no issue and I now just put one on my bike about 6 months ago an what a difference from the stock headlights on both applications output is amazing.

I bought their hids because i read good reviews on a forum about their lights, However mines turned to be the worst lights i have ever have installed. The colors dont match, they left headlights flicker and shot off every some times. I have checked the relay as their customer service told me to check and it look to be good to me but they can't figure out whats the issue. I have a 17 tacoma with factory projector lamps. Until today's date trs cant help! I have email them 15 days has been now and no response. No good customer service. No even with new lights or refund.!!!!

I bought a truck that already had a HID kit installed but was having issues with one of the lights working sporadically. After troubleshooting and replacing some components, it was discovered I had a faulty harness. After searching the internet for the best harness....all roads led to the The Retrofit Source. What I got was a quality, robust harness. Nothing like the janky, cheap made harness that i originally had. It was made to work and last. Can t go wrong with TRS.

Great service, the staff was outstanding in helping me with what I needed. Wish the main area was a bit more customer friendly vs feeling like a side bar.

I bought the morimoto mini h1 kit to install in my 02 WRX. I haven't installed it yet, but everything shipped quickly and was packaged well, and nothing arrived damaged.

Fit and finish are perfect. Great output. The install was straightforward and worked like OEM. The option to disable sequential turn signals is excellent too. Not sure why anyone would though. They look awesome.

I ordered from TRS a few months ago. Picked up the Morimoto Elite HID System (D2S) 5Five 5500k and it works like a charm. They have one of the best relay harnesses on the market. Great customer service and quick shipping. Would def order again!

Having a 14 Sierra with stock projection lights, I was never really happy with the light output. After doing some research I decided to go with the TRS/Morimoto elite kit and so far have been extremely happy with the product I received and the light quality that the produce. The quality of the product alone is oustanding. Good price and even better product. Installation took a little time but it s all in how you want your finished product to look. Definitely recommend this kit to anyone

Got my HID kit from TRS, and it has worked perfectly! I even emailed beforehand to make sure I ordered exactly what I needed, and their customer service is top notch. Would definitely buy from them again, although everything seems to well made I feel like I won't have to.

Is it normal to sit on hold for a couple hours a day? been calling every chance I can and all I do is sit on hold, never even talked to someone. I even emailed TRS asking if they could call me when they have a chance. no such luck its been a couple days. starting to wonder if I want to do anymore business with TRS.

Customer service is terrible. They shorted my order for some small hardware. I ve tried calling, chat email, and maybe I ll get my car back together 2 weeks later. Waste of time

Product arrived with superficial damage, whether or not it was shipped this way, or was damaged in transit, I do not know, but based on the poor packaging material, I would not be suprised if it was damaged in transit.

The product also has Sharpie marks on it, when it's sold as being like new/ new condition. Pretty disappointing...

If you re new to the retrofit game, you ll know exactly what I m talking about. I wanted to get started on a retrofit for my Tacoma, easy, sure if you go the OEM way but I wanted to retrofit a set of eBay light because they offered more in the way of style and turn signal options, probably not the easiest thing to do for my first time but they ll look awesome. I emailed back and forth with TRS about my best options and they gave me all the advice possible. I finally sat down and called them to compile a list of everything I need. They explained some other options in the projector market, explained how they mount, issues I might run into, and helped me compile an exact list for ordering. Afterwards I bought everything, used live chat to enquire about the etching, , checked out, sent the email for the etching pattern and began waiting. I placed my order on Thursday and my entire order shipped this morning, I ll have it by Friday. So about a week turn around with a complete kit and etching, yea that s fast and did I mention the shipping was free. I ll be doing another set as a reserve (a lot of deer around here), and will definitely use these guys again.

To start things off, I heard about TheRetrofitSource from a friend a couple of years ago. He got himself an HID kit for his car from them, and recommended them. I went ahead and bought myself a Morimoto H7 Elite kit from TRS, for my car low beams. The kit was damn good quality build wise, and I happened to get a kit that had an issue with one of the ballasts. I mentioned it to TRS and they shipped another ballast out without giving me any grief at all. I received the new ballast and things were working great. Fast-forward to today, and the kit is still running strong, with the NEW XB ballasts to boot because I warranty exchanged the old ones for them. I am even happier with these new ballasts, as they warm up faster and the initial ignition is even "cleaner" if that makes sense.

Great job on the products, the service, and of course the dedication Matt(El Presidente) of the company shows with any issues that could possibly happen to anyone. Up next for me is some LEDs from TRS, and I'm looking forward to them.

The order and the shipment came quickly. The only reason I would give 4/5 starts was because the guy on chat gave me some misinformation about the products being sold. So it was hard to feel like I was getting what I needed accurately. I'm about to setup my truck with the H1's so we will see how everything goes! So far I've been super impressed with the shipping and response.

The Retrofit Source filters reviews on their product pages, so beware that you'll only see the positive ones show, not a single negative one.

Just like this other customer, I wrote a fair and honest (but negative) review of a product to inform other customers, and they simply did not publish the review. So they have forced me to post here where they aren't filtered.

The Morimoto Motocontrol harnesses use cheap connectors with gaskets that are not properly sized to the ga of wire, so they have big gaping holes for moisture to enter, and cause corrosion. I've had two sets of these harnesses fail on me now, and both times I lost my headlights entirely. Super super dangerous, and extremely lucky I had a full wiring kit with me, so I could custom hardwire the ballasts straight to the battery to regain my low beams for the ~2hr drive back into reception. If I didn't have this with me, it'd have been an overnight on the side of a winter road in -25C... and major lawsuit territory if the failure had caused an accident.

The worst part? This is a well known failure point, and hasn't been corrected for over 4 years now. When asked, TRS denies this being an issue at all, and this was the reply: (unacceptable reasoning, just fix the damn issue like any reputable manufacturer would have done within a few months)

"There are no plans to change or redesign the wiring harness at this point, so any that you order will continue to be exactly the same."

"Aside from filling all the open/exposed electrical contacts with dielectric grease to further keep water out, there's not much else that can be suggested."

Photos: First two are a brand new harness in Oct 2018 showing the gaping holes in the gaskets, the other photos are of the corrosion on the contacts that this flaw allows to occur with moisture sitting in the connectors.

I've ordered two complete retrofits and multiple other parts from The Retrofit Source and the products are top of the line. I've exchanged emails and phone calls and customer service is always top notch. TRS is my go-to for serious upgrades.

Not the experience I was looking for .
I ordered my parts 12/28 with the 2-3 day shipping. I received an email order was received & awaited a tracking follow up email. After waiting a couple days I went to contact them to see what was going on. I saw a banner on the website, which was not there the day I ordered that they were closed for inventory. I called & explained the situation, & asked to have my order overnighted or expedited since I had been already waited so long. The rep told me there is nothing they can do to either refund my $ for the shipping or overnight my package. With all that being said, my package was mailed out from them, however shipping USPS is going to take 5 days even though I paid for 2-3 day. The rep was not willing to make it right & I will not use them or refer anyone.

Love love love. This is the only store I will purchase headlight retrofit and components from. I know that I am receiving quality products when I purchase from The Retrofit Source. I just finished up my D2S Mini 4.0 Projector retrofit into my 2011 F250 which previously has standard halogen bulbs.

Great customer service. I bought the 2stroke 1.0 LED lights 3 years ago from TRS. Unfortunately after a couple months they both had problems and went out; must ve been a defective pair that got sent, it happens. They quickly sent me a replacement pair and those were great. About a week ago one of the bulbs went out on me and I emailed customer service to see if anything could be done. Turns out my warranty was up but they sent me a replacement pair anyways and even upgraded to the 2stroke 2.0 s. Awesome customer service & great company. Will always get my lights from them.

Customer service was top notch. I thought there was a problem with the bulb model I ordered (h11a vs h11b) but it ended up being burn in on my projectors, not return wire shadows like I originally thought. Even once I figured out I did in fact receive the right bulbs, they didn't abandon the email conversation and asked for pics of my output so they could help me as to why there was shadows in my output. It ended up being burned projectors. They couldn't have provided a better experience.

Ordered some morimoto led bulbs for the reverse lights, license plate lights and cargo lights. They are incredible! Bright and quality bulbs. Plan on ordering the tail light bulbs and and front turn signals soon!

Worst customer service. They just get your money and forget about you when have issues. I bought 1 complete projector kit $500 and they were not good quality because the projectors were with issues, the bezels with chrome peeling off., and what not, i contacted them to return the items for a refund and they didn t want me to return items. Also I made a research on the brand they supposedly use as their brand and is actually made by these companies and they lies to all saying is morimoto brand or the xb headlights

Initially happy with my 2015+ Mopar Kit Elite Morimoto Kit. However the kit would not work in winter months or below 40F. Several inquiries to this business with no solution. This upgrade was a huge waste of time and money. They do not stand behind their warranty. Ended up going back to stock headlights.

The two "different" brands of lighting are the exact same thing sent in from Japan while marked up 200%

Shipping is way too slow!!!! I've paid for primer delivery (2 business days) shipping and it's been 3 business day and the package hasn't even been processed. They've told me that they are moving to a new location, but is that really my problem? They didn't want to refund the extra price I paid for shipping, so here's my 1 star review.

I bought a pair of Morimoto LED fog lights for my F-150 from a local dealer in Texas. They worked fantastically! Then I started having trouble with the driver s side light flickering, and then not coming on at all. I finally got some time to look at it and found that the wiring harness had completely disconnected from the housing. I tried to contact the local dealer I purchased the kit from, but they had since gone out of business. So I contacted Morimoto about what could be done. Jaylen from The Retrofit Source took care of everything! They shipped me a new light kit quickly and easily. Jaylen was amazing and professional and kept in constant contact. The Retrofit Source now has a customer for life!

Great company to purchase from and work with.... ordering online was easy, shipping was very fast, and the product arrived without a hitch. We installed them in one of our two vehicles same day they arrived, and will be ordering a set for the other vehicle. Lights are bright, easy to install, and exceeded expectations are far as being a quality product.

My main issue with TheRetroFit source is that they filter and pad their product reviews on their website. I wrote a fair and honest (but negative) review of a product to inform other customers, and they simply did not publish the review.

I paid $300 dollars for an adapter harness for F150 OEM LED headlights to them in October of 2017. Right sided adapter simply never worked right. I went round and round with them. They did ship out two replacement harnesses that also did not work. They claimed that this was because my truck was a 2017 and the harnesses were for 2016 trucks. This may be true, but on purchase, the website said 2016+. Bottom line, they could not offer me a solution and would just tell me to wait months and months for a revised harness. In the meantime, my headlight would go out randomly.

I ended up purchasing a much cleaner adapter harness from a private party online. Made some minor changes to my BCM software, and now I have lights that work perfectly.

These guys are supposed to be lighting "experts." Well, not in this case.

TRS is one of the few company that I utterly love. They have the best customer support, issue gets resolved really fast and they'll do almost everything to get you satisfied. I bought a complete retrofit kit and a few other thing and I must say that they are top quality and dont fear our cold canadian winters!

You can uncheck the box for newsletters, special offers, etc when you place an order, but they'll ignore it and start spamming you anyway. Legitimate businesses don't need spam. Retrofit Source is more interested in likes and surveys than sales. I'm not a millenial and will shop elsewhere from now on.

I grew frustrated with other companies products, especially poorly designed HID bulbs. After receiving my order and installing,the hot spot was right where it needed to be in my projector housing versus it being way too low! I wanted so much money when I could have bought a quality bulb set from TRS in the beginning. I will never go anywhere else for my headlight needs! Doing my wife's headlights next month. Remember you will always pay more replacing cheap bulbs and parts than if you had just went with the right stuff the first time.

I ordered some Morimoto 2Stroke 2.0 LED low beams for my 5th Gen 4Runner and they shipped quickly. The website was very helpful to me in sorting what was the right product for my vehicle. I will use RTS again in the future and recommend them to anyone wanting to upgrade or replace their lighting.

Purchased the H11: Morimoto Elite HID System (HID Ballasts 2 x 50W: Morimoto XB55 Computer, Ballast Igniters 2 x Morimoto XB Igniter (AMP), Compatible H11 HID Bulbs 2 x H11B/H9/H8: XB 5500K, Harness 1 x HD Relay: H11/H9/H8 ), it had everything I needed to install on a 2015 Ford Edge.

Install was straight forward and all cables were marked.

Minor quirk was I received a bad H11: XB Bulb Wire but The Retrofit Source were able to warranty it and send me two just in case.

Great place for all of your automotive needs, I needed an adapter harness for my Subaru HID lights and they had exactly what I needed. The shipping was fast and their prices are great. If I need anything else I will definitely get it from them!!

I have ordered from there in the past with great success. I've picked up some projectors, shrouds, lenses, shroud centric rings, and HIDs from them that turned out great. I am ordering from them for some of my new cars as we speak. I'll be ordering from them again soon because I do custom retrofits for customers. I've been quite happy with them, their products, and their customer service.

People know about TRS from all over the online forums and the have some pretty high regards. I would look to them for your next lighting needs.

I've ordered a couple of retrofit kits from the retrofit source and never had a problem, all my questions have always been answered promptly and the customer service is some of the best I have ever experienced. I will continue to get all my retrofit needs from TRS.

Placed 2 orders (roughly a year apart). Before placing the orders i chatted with them during there business hours and answered all my questions in helping me figure out what i needed and how to go about it. They have a directory with info on products. Orders were shipped quickly and arrived in good time. All my products that i purchased worked and didn't have any issues. Had a few questions about installation which were answered in a chat as well. Would recommend and will be ordering from in the future.

Same as others who was unhappy about products not in stock! Will not go back and get anything from them anymore.

The head lights are amazing. They have a great look and the color temperature is just right. The headlights didn't fit right for my low beams to the point that I fear they may fall out if I hit a big enough bump. The adaptors didn't fit my connections for both the headlight so I had to clip them and wire it myself. The cooling fan is a bit loud and almost makes it sound like they are HIDs, and they can be heard in the cabin of the vehicle. Overall, I'd like to see them improve the quality for installation but it has an amazing look once it is installed.

Some of the best customer service I have experienced. They answer questions very quickly on an online chat and are more than willing to give good advice. I used to be a user of other cheaper kits but had issues with wiring and the ballast/bulbs going out. I have been running their hids for a few months now and even with sub zero temps (-25) they are still running fine. I will admit I have gotten the retrofit bug and will be doing my third retrofit to switch up my setup yet again and all parts are sourced through them. I couldnt be happier. Thanks!

They use cheap china BALLAST and rebrand them and sell online. Their ballast fail below 30 degrees, period. ALL OTHER NAME BRAND STUFF ARE USED. They are basically 20 or so group of people sleep in car junkyards and cannibalize cars to pull parts from them and list them for sale. Prices are absurdly insane! As well; for instance a Lexus projector is for 190 at trs but you can buy the something online from other sites for 100$ or lower plus bulbs, they have few forums places online where they have innocent worshipers who advertise for them (willingly and freely) or refer people to them, those people have no life because they spend most of their stupid time online and drooling over stupid headlights and posting hateful things about PNP lights.

Most people look up to them and worship them are actually poor or uneducated people who own older or cheap American- made cars who want to have their cars look good with TRS stuff.

It s gotten so bad that before New Year s I saw mdx headlights for 500$ on their site. But they started a talk around making people droll over these Acura mdx lights, by forums or FACEBOOK_ HEADLIGHT_JUNKIES pages. Guess what within a week or so TRS bumped to price to 750$ wtf right. Yeap. Just log in to Facebook and look at the conversations in headlight junkies how people are actually worshipping THERETROFITSOURCE OR goes by the name TRS. It s almost insane that I was in this page for 1 week because it was so annoying and TRS was sugar babies all these hippies and losers on that page. And as soon as you challenge their quality and other things basically you will be deleted and banned. So much control. Do yourself a favor if you are going to retro your headlights and buy smart. I am not saying don t buy from TRS but do your search wisely, because you will lose a lot of money with them for the most part.

I orderd the h7 kit in 6500k for a 2013 subaru legacy with stock projectors and so far so good. Very nice and bright light pattern with no shadows. If anybody is thinking on a new set of hid's or wanting to upgrade from stock bulbs morimoto is definatly the way to go. I have bought ones on amazon and one from a site online that had good reviews and what i got was cheap china stuff that was junk. These are not junk. Dont think on it, order from the retrofit source...you woulnt regreat it!!!!

I have ordered many kits from the awesome guys at The Retrofit Source and am happy with each kit. Their dedication to always improving their products is what keeps me coming back. Every time I order a kit its always on time, always extremely well packaged, and always an improved product over the last. I recently had a 55w ballast go out and gave them a call and less than 5 minutes later they sent me an email with instructions on what was needed to get me a replacement. These guys truly care about their customers and the quality of their products!

Ordered a Morimoto XB35 35 Watt HID Conversion Kit with HD Relay Harness 6000K H11 bulbs -H11 Relay Harness back in the beginning of 2014. I had a small problem with one of the ballasts that was still under warranty, but TRS immediately replaced it for me. The process was fast and easy. Other than that, everything is still working like new. I will definitely purchase from them again.

I've used the retrofit source for all my replacement d2s bulbs. They have always been very helpful and they are very quick to respond to emails. If your looking for replacement HID bulbs please don't buy cheap junk from eBay that claims that the bulbs are "genuine" or "made in Germany" 9/10 it's fake. All my orders from theretrofitsource have arrived in 1-2 days using standard shipping but your time may be different. I don't usually write reviews but these guys are awesome.
