Love Plum Tomato! Their thin crust pizzas are fantastic, and they have a great selection of beers (most from New England.)
Always have friendly and prompt service, and the wings and waffle fries are also great.
Its thin round and covered in cheese. What woupd one not love about any of that. O' I Do declare!
Had take out gluten-free pizzas. They were small and ok. It's not going to be one of my favorite take-out pizza places.

This is only my second time at The Plum Tomato but after the service we received this time I can say it may be the last. Everything started out fine, we seated ourselves and in a timely manner the waiter came over. We ordered buffalo wings for an appetizer and a salad and a pizza for dinner. The wings came out and everything was still fine. He brought us the pizza shortly after and this was pretty much that last we saw him. He didn't give us plates for our pizza so i had to take the bones from my wings and pile them back on the plate with the wings we hadn't gotten to, and then wipe off my plate to use for the pizza. He never returned so I couldn't ask him for another drink (since i was done with my first shortly after we received the appetizer) or where my salad was. We began eating our pizza and now both of our drinks were empty but no waiter. We finished eating the pizza, and still, no waiter. So we waited. And waited. And waited some more. We ate a little on the late side so it's not like the place was busy. It was us and two other tables and I don't believe he was waiting on the other tables. We finally saw him sitting at a table with other wait staff rolling napkins. After several minutes I think he noticed that we were looking around because he finally came over. I asked him for another drink and some boxes for our leftovers. He left and never came back. So once again, the waiting game. Nothing. After several more minutes I couldn't wait any longer so I got up and asked someone else if they could give me my check and the boxes. She gave me the boxes and the check, but the check had the salad on it that I never received. The waiter saw me up there so he finally came over. He adjusted the check for the salad he never gave us and we were on our way. So, this visit was quite disappointing and I couldn't wait to get home to get a big glass of water since I was unable to get a drink there. The first time we ate here the service was fine and it was much busier, but unfortunately, the service tonight will probably always be what I remember.
We order take out often and we're never disappointed. Great pizza and wings especially!
I love this place. It is great food and great staff. Our kids love the pizzas and I love the creative sandwiches. I wish I could even more.
Good food and good prices but a rather limited menu compared to Family Pizza across the street. I have only ever ordered takeout from here, so I cannot attest to their dining experience, but the people at the takeout area (separate from the main restaurant) have been nothing but nice and helpful.
Wait times for takeout are reasonable and some of their food is absolutely delectable (I especially love their sauce and grated pizza). But much of their menu is not my cup of tea as it is sandwich-heavy and cheese-heavy; I am lactose intolerant so I prefer not to have to take lactose enzymes when I can help it in addition to not being a fan of cheese-heavy dishes.
But they complement Family Pizza in many ways offering more affordable and in my mind at least quick meals than the other. So if by some chance you find yourself in Colchester on a rainy night and can t decide which to grab, then consider your budget and appetite and you might be be better able to make up your mind between these two good restaurants.
Plum has great rotating menus, even better staples, and quality food overall!
Wood fired stove. Great food and fun atmosphere. Servers are pleasant and always nice. Food is amazing every time I've been.
Today was my first time being here & they have a good selection of food to choose from the menu & what I got was the Titanic Turkey Sandwich & it was very tasty I give it two thumbs up & also nice ppl that works here & lastly it's in a good location. I will go back there again another time.

Maybe we should have gotten pizza since they're known for that but instead we ordered chicken fingers, fries, pasta, and a chef salad. The chef salad was small and didn't have much on it. The venue is very casual, filled with families, and many take-outs.
Best place hands down to get pizza and wings. The Sinatra pizza is my favorite.

The review is based on customer service versus food taste or quality. I have numerous food allergies and I saw on their website they have gluten free options. I called to ask for the ingredients in their gluten free dough as I have over 25 allergies. After being disconnected twice and then told they had no idea what the dough is made of I asked for a manager. The manager flat out refused to disclose the ingredients stating it was a copyright thing. They said asked me to disclose all my allergies and they would let me know if it contained any of my allergies. If you have allergies, celiac disease, or care about eating clean real food you may want to pass on eating at an establishment that won't disclose ingredients.

I work in Willimantic and live here in Colchester, whenever I have a friend from work over they ve usually never even heard of Plum Tomato, everybody has said it is the best pizza they have ever had, and I always have to buy their pizza each time a coworker comes over.
It is nice they have a separate area/room/entrance specifically for Takeout, it makes it easier for me taking out for I don t have to wait in a line, and it is better for the sit down/restaurant area of Plum Tomato as they are not being disrupted.
Amazing sandwiches! Awesome place to sit down to eat. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Soups were awesome too.
Pizza is usually delicious and the atmosphere is good however when we went last night the pizza seemed to be put together kind of sloppy, different than the usual.

We are regulars to this place once a month for The Sammy the Bull with either chips & pickles or side salad with their awesome creamy garlic dressing. Definitely worth the drive. Service is Great!
I have found my new favorite pizza spot. I ve been in Massachusetts for 2 years and have missed New Haven Pizza - which is where I m from. This is the closest to the very best. Delicious.
Ohhhh plum tomato... where do I start. I'm a bit conflicted as to how I should rate them. I would say between a 2 and a 3.5, if I had that option. It's funny because I've had some decent experiences here.. definitely a solid 4. However, I've also hr some pretty bad experiences here as well. Perhaps more mediocre or negative experiences to positive. But, here we are in Colchester where your options are Chinese... Chinese... Chinese... dirty fast food... and... plum tomato. So, let me start by saying the first thing that upsets me about this place is the customer service. The place is staffed by what I assume is high school kids. Some are friendly, but most of them have quite the attitude on the phone. It's usually even worse in person at times. Ok, so maybe I catch some of them on a bad day. The food could possibly make up for it, right? Wrong. I usually get wings and a some type of sandwich. I swear I've had wings that were basically raw. But, I've also had them come out very good at times. Same thing with the sandwiches. It's like a guessing game if they will even put the right ingredients on. One time I ordered the meatball sandwich and it was literally missing the meatballs. So, if you are a person that likes to gamble, you should take a chance at Plum Tomato. It's a crapshoot if they'll get your order right, if it will be done with a smile, and if it will taste good. Welcome to Colchester.
Delicious, high quality, fresh salads- which can be so hard to find at a pizza place. The Anthony, either as a salad or sandwich (get the Fatti bread), is my favorite. They also have incredible brick oven pizza with flavorful sauce, although the cheese calzone could use some more Parmesan/Romano.

Had the Ali sandwich--it was ok. Tasty pizza bread, but the sandwich was kind of dry.

Edit* I didn't even realize I gave it 4 stars vs 5 until I saw the response. Moved to CT from NY in January and have not found better Pizza yet, that includes New Haven. Sammy the Bull is also a must try.
Casual pizza & sandwich place with nostalgic decor. Came for lunch on a weekday. Ordered the "Sammy the bull" half sandwich and shared between two people, also with a cup of soup. Sandwich was pretty good, I would recommend. Casual inside with some booths and tables, some seemed a bit darker or shady but also window spots that had more light. Service was friendly.

0 for 5 with me. Used to enjoy this place but had terrible experiences the last 5 times. Most recent being, waiting over 80 minutes for a to go salad; 40 of which I spent standing in the take out area repeating my order number, phone number, and order.
It's a good place to go just to read the menu. It's hilarious! Our party all had sandwiches. They were all good. My wife had a sandwich on their "brickini" bread. She said it was so thick she couldn't bite it, and so crusty it didn't cut. She did say it was good, though. I had the Mad Cow on fatti bread. Delicious.

Consistently great food, whether ordering calzones, sandwiches, pizza or entrees. They've handled takeout ordering and pickup well throughout the pandemic. Very happy to have such a great place nearby.

Home made bread, pasta sauce and meatballs. Its been a long time since I've been to a restaurant that had it's own personality and flavor. The staff is friendly and makes you feel at home.

Anthony Salad with creamy garlic dressing is my favorite salad of all time. Everything else is good too: pizza, calzones, creamy tomato penne, chili, wings, Anthony as a sandwich.... Dine in or take.out, it's all good.
Great pizza and wings pizza is comparable to New Haven style pizza and the wings are by far some of the best in the state.

Delish pizza that's cooked with a chewy, slightly sweet crust.Get the devil's kiss or whatever it is called if you like garlic and dont care about how your breath smells. It was delicious.
