The museum is beautiful and offers several free activities as well as the main collection. As for the main collection, it is composed of several interactive works explaining how the solar system works and the like. It is a bit hidden, it is near the trade fair of Saint Kitts, but it lacks signposts indicating the way.

Cool. The place is beautiful, it gives imperial time. At night, for two days a week, there is sky observation with monitors helping to see constellations, planets, both with the naked eye and in telescopes. In addition, very interesting exhibitions about the Earth and the cosmos.

museum and former research center Rio de Janeiro National Observatory left the hill of the castle and was transferred to this hill, it counts former officials that as a child his father helped to build the museum and that it had underground passages in this place, but not yet discovered nothing

Excellent museum, with well described and preserved pieces, you can spend an entire afternoon in the museum. In addition to the exhibits, such as a scaled solar system, the museum has sky observation programs, including sun observation. The place overlooks a good part of the city center, the port area and the northern part of the city. that the carioca is used to.

The Museum of Astronomy and Related Sciences is a gift from the city that few people know about. In it, there are exhibitions that tell a little about the history of Brazilian science, there are scientific and artistic contents. You can still watch the sky on Saturdays through loupes and magnifiers !!! Seeing Saturn's rings is awesome !!!

If lucky enough to get there and have the explainers explaining each room, plus the explainer of the stars and the night see what was explained (I did not see because of the mosquitoes and it was taking), it was worth the ride. There's a simple canteen in the back.

Incredible and well maintained place with lots of interactive exhibits and stargazing on a few nights. Weaknesses: no cafeteria or place to buy water, snack, nothing! I ended up leaving earlier than I wanted because I was starving; upon arriving at the main entrance, there was no one at the front desk to advise on how and where the exhibits were; some rooms with historical equipment were without any security (only cameras), which I think dangerous for the collection. Overall, a very good experience!
