Wouldn't recommend, food quite nice but average. Definitely nothing like the Ivy, more like a Bill's with table cloths. Service was poor; rude and apathetic. Felt like I was being treated like an "annoying tourist", except I live in London. Waiter spilled prosecco all over the table and then didn't clean it up until one of us asked for a cloth. He up-sold one of the table and then didn't actually order the chips for her, when asking about them to another server, the reply was an abrupt "did you ask for them?". Having a loud DJ over brunch is completely ridiculous, I personally wouldn't fancy eating eggs benedict in a club. When we tried to explain that we weren't very happy, the waiter (who turned out the be the shift manager) genuinely couldn't have cared less. Won't be going back.
Great place. Marvelous food and good ambience. Shame you can only have a table if you order food but I guess these are the rules of a brasserie. Bit on the high scale but worth it. Bar service was equally great, even though I generally dislike sitting at the bar.
The greeting was very ordinary and could have been warmer, and no offering of taking my coat.
I was taken to the bar for lunch and given the menus (upside down). After about 5 minutes I was acknowledged and my order was taken.
Eating from the set menu, 2 courses.
The tomato soup was lovely but when I got the steak and fries, I was disappointed.
When the bartender took my order, I was asked, pink or well done.....but it came as a paillard, surely no way it could have been pink, nor in the menu was specified paillard or thin cut.
Lovely venue, excellent food, lovely cocktails and surprisingly reasonable prices. Well worth a visit!
We had the private room, excellent service, food and drink
It was a nice experience. I recommend the cod and risotto dish. The free warm bread was a lovely extra. The staff were friendly but we had 2 issues:
1) we weren't seated on time. We arrived at 8:15pm for our table but were left waiting at the bar for nearly 30 mins.
2) When the bill came, we were being charged for items we never ordered. We had to get this changed twice before it was correct.
Food wonderful Lobster linguini !
But mark up on wines and cocktails .. disgraceful !
Very nice food, good smoked salmon and very nice rum Baba
Attentive and fun staff, immaculate food and faultless lunch-thanks guys, thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.
Can't really give it more, as much as I want to. Its a nice setting but to be honest the food was mediocre and two of our guests steaks weren't cooked right so sent back and the new steaks arrived after the rest of us had finished. There was an apology but given that I was missing a knife, had to ask for one and wasn't asked if I wanted another drink when my meal arrived - my glass in front of me clearly empty and couldn't find someone near to ask on top of not being asked as we were eating if the food was alright its kind of difficult to give it more. I've had better service and food in pubs.
Decor on point. Food sits on the average side of good. Service pedestrian. Avoid
The best meal I have ever had. 10th wedding anniversary and they made us feel great. Bit pricey but worth it
Had a lovely lunch there with a friend, the team is lovely and so nice. The food was great and delicious, well presented. Will definitely come back
Great service, food fab and atmosphere was brilliant. Will be back
Interesting place. You eat well and considering it's in Soho I have to say that the price is cheap. Friendly staff. There is no specific dresscode .. you find people from elegant to casual.
Food was fantastic. A good range of food on the menu with plenty of vegetarian/vegan options. The service was also very good from the cloakroom staff to the wait staff. Very accommodating to our requests and smooth speedy service although didn't feel like we were being hurried along. Only draw back was the price. Found it a little pricey, but it was fabulous food
Smart looking place, very cultured and beautiful artwork everywhere. Service was of a very high standand however a little slow.
I thoroughly enjoyed lunch here. The milanese chicken and rocket salad I had was exceptional in the genre. The addition of a shave of truffle on top of the egg was delicious. Never thought of doing that before. And by the way...truffle and ketchup is delicious. Who'd have thought? Utterly wrong, but utterly delicious. Wine was very drinkable. Staff were fab - friendly and helpful without being intrusive. I will be going back.
I feel for the chefs. Food is great, service is slow af and even when quiet!
Nice restaurant in an easy to reach location with reasonable prices and good quality meals. The portion sizes are standard, with pleasant surroundings, friendly staff and a vast wine list. The tables are nicely spaced from other diners and there isn't any overbearing music in the background - will be visiting again.
Stunning place with delicate food and lovely cocktails. Great for a romantic dinner as well as business dinners
Volun3 of music ruined whole night. With a group of friends i see once a year and couldn't even have a conversation.
Booked fornhood food and hood price and was not disappointed. Very attentive staff and absolutely delicuous birthday meal.
I was originally sad when they turned The Ivy brand into a chain because I love the original Covent Garden restaurant on which the chain is based.
However, both times I have visited a branch of the restaurant, the food, decor and surroundings have been delightful and, slightly cheaper.
This restaurant is spacious and a buzzing hub of the Soho media set.
I'll be back here, often.
High professionalism of staff, high quality of food, luxury environment.
Fantastic evening with friends ,food amazing.
Will be back
Nice place, drinks were great but unfortunately the food was completely indiferrent. Nothing like the fancy menu it promises. Certainly not a value for money place.
Disgusting. If you can find any other venue, please go for it.
Great service and delicious food. A beautiful restaurant and attentive wait staff.
Great location. Food was great. Some staff were not that friendly and quite impatient. Also went on a Friday evening and the music was very loud, could hardly hear the person next to me. But still a great restaurant/bar.
Best vibe and best waiter EVER! Loved it every minute. Thank you Aitor for such a wonderful lunch!
It was super crowded so it took some time between waiters visiting our table and some dishes were forgotten and a salad was dirty but with that said my food was absolutely delicious. The sweet potatoes was probably the best I've had and the meat was awesome!
They blamed the service on the number of guests which I can understand but that should never be an excuse, never allow more people than you can serve without affecting the quality of service. I'm giving it a 4 star because of the minor issue but the food was worth 5 stars without hesitation.
Very good Al a carte food prtion size small cost london prices high but good atmosphere good service and nice decor
good food and lovely decor. staff are excellent and a good replication of the original Ivy. Head in for some delicious food, whatever you are after
Always worth a visit, lively and perfect for starting an evening out.
Wonderful breakfast, great vibes and amazing staff.
Very good service. Good vegan options. Music too loud imo.
If you want a lively get together with your friends there is no where better. If you want to take mum and dad for a quiet meal, not so much. Luckily we fell into the former category!
Amazing place. Food was delicious and the ambiance was great fun.
Not as good as the ivy on high street Kensington. Took a while for food/drinks to be served
Looks great ... both inside and out ... with a heated terrace
Good location and good food, but check your bill, we were charged for drinks we never had and didn t realise before leaving the restaurant!
The stars are only for the food. I brought my mom and a friend here for an afternoon tea, the food was great and there were various choices available on the menu, the waiter recommended a few dishes in an appropriate manner.
My mom and my friend came to travel, it was a reunion and they were loving the experience, we spent nearly 2 hours eating and chatting until a waiter came to check in with us, he literally frowned and said, 'I think you are spending too much time on your food' - that made the whole afternoon unpleasant, my mom was pretty upset, she also felt a bit intimidated that I had to tell her he's just joking, we then left the restaurant promptly.
ps. the place was not busy at all, I have booked online in advanced and there wasn't a single condition about dining hours, plus it is a casual dining restaurant
I still don't know if he's trying to be funny or what, but I definitely know it when people are telling a joke, I can take a banter, for me that was just something very unprofessional to say to your customers.
Tasty food, friendly staff. But not a place of my choice
5 stars purely for the dessert although we did only have the 3 course dinner set menu so I'm sure the a la carte menu is excellent. The dessert we had was the chocolate bomb and I highly recommend it!!
Absolutely horrific dining experience -- if it was possible to give a negative star i would.
No service for the first 10 minutes, only to find out that they could not provide any of the drinks that we had chosen from the menu.... as well as the main course food either. The chefs are apparently unable to serve any meat (beef or salmon) "by law" (as we were explained to by the waiter), unless it is rare or incredibly overcooked. The steak sandwich was to the point of inedibly chewy and fatty. The salmon, had zero flavour, and cooked to the point that the oil had crusted onto the fish and no sauce could save the dish. A small incredibly sharp piece of crab shell was within one of the pastas, luckily no one was hurt but incredibly unsafe to eat!!!! When the waiter was notified this he simply said he would talk to the chef, took our dishes and brought back the bill within 30 seconds. You could tell the waiters all did not want to be there and didn't care about service, food or standards at all, as there was quite a few complaints from surrounding tables in which were brushed off by the careless waiters. The whole meal was completely disastrous and it is safe to say we wouldn't touch the place with a barge pole and recommend others not to as well if they actually want to enjoy a meal.
Lovely food and service. Reasonably priced but felt like an amazing experience
What a buzzing place! Live DJ and cocktails to die for - definitely a great place to spend with friends!
Family meal to celebrate a level and gcse results with teenagers was hindered due to strict rules by staff .
We were wandering around looking for somewhere for a late lunch and we came across the Ivy Brassiere in Soho. We tried it on the off chance. It s was truly excellent. The service was exceptional and really friendly. The menu is extensive, from sandwiches through light bites to main meals. We shared the fried zucchini fritti, of the small bites, and it was so filling that we didn t bother to have a regular starter. We then both had Shepherds Pie, which was very tasty. I love that they give a you a bottle Worcester Sauce to add some if you want to. We both had a very nice glass of Grenache Blanc followed by an exceptional red, Chateau d Arche, Graves. The room is stunningly and we had a lovely table. It s not very cheap but is very reasonable for this area.
Desert was great, service was pretty good but the main (crab pasta) was extremely disappointing and ruined the lunch.
A smart brasserie but service was a bit patchy. Had to ask 3 times for something.
Average. Tiny portion of pasta for dinner. Tables too close together
Absolutely delightful! The food, the service, the decor. The sommelier is knowledgeable and very helpful.
Fantastic service and great food with a lovely atmosphere. The restaurant is well laid out, taking into account the current situation.
They get one, rather than no stars simply because they were busy and managed to get us a couple of seats for dinner at the bar. I wish they hadn't. Trying to ignore the loud music, we were promptly looked after by a pleasant guy behind the bar.
No amount of deafening music could mask the awful food. I had half a roast chicken; it was so tough I almost asked for a steak knife. My friend had a burger in a "potato" (it wasn't) bun. It might have been tasty, there might have been a slight chargrilled flavour, but it was impossible to be sure. It was so dry, it made the Sahara seem like a raging river. Apt really, given that we were raging when we left.
Ate here on the Saturday night and it was absolutely fantastic. So much so that I returned on the Monday but the same food just wasn't as good. Service was also lacking compared to the Saturday visit. I'm guessing a different set of staff from the Saturday. Wouldn't risk again due to the inconsistency.
Food is fantastic, much better than the food at the Ivy in Chelsea which is the only other one we'd been too. We had a brilliant waiter who was just lovely.
Only complaint was it was incredibly loud. Not a fan of having music being blasted and everyone shouting to be heard over dinner.
This was my second visit after a previous good experience here, I booked for friends a table for 8, booked 6 weeks in advance. The signs were there from the start; we arrived on time but were sat over 30 minutes late.
Orders went missing and food eventually delivered to the table cold. I had to ask 3 times to speak to the manager who then apologised and the service then greatly improved. But two hours too late.
The manager admitted he was busy with a group of 40 in another room which meant the main restaurant was bereft of organisation of every aspect in restaurant management.
I know it's holiday season and restaurants are pushed but they advertise that it's a two hour sitting, but couldn't get a "slow eater" out quick enough, couldn't take accurate orders, couldn't get food on the table that was warm let alone hot and couldn't get a manager to me to explain why they were so shambolic. The bill was adjusted but it still doesn't make up for what was a poor evening.
Currently, I've no inclination to go back. You may get a better service than we did, I really hope so!
Service was not great ... I've had better, tastier food at smaller less fancy establishments.
