There were quite a few empty exhibits, but there is still enough to entertain the kids for several hours.

Beautiful day and the staff/volunteers were great, just not many animals out to see
Really busy parking and a nightmare but the people there are super friendly and helpful. The animals were amazing to watch!
This was my first time in the Portland zoo. The zoo is not really big but they have the zoo lights event. It is amazing
Under construction currently September 2019 so about 20% of the zoo is accessible. The food is spendy but you can bring in your own, which I recommend. The concert area is a great place to have a picnic. Other than those few things it's a great zoo:)
Amazing place to spend times and great how the animals sometime interact
The animals are pretty much all rescues which is extremely important to the quality of a zoo - in my opinion. Their work with the endangered Condor species is recognized nationwide and the facilities are surprisingly clean. Some big name artists play outdoor concerts there and would highly recommend attending one if you get the chance.
Such a fun and friendly place to go. Such great care of the animals and great place for I formation on each animal you get to see. Very knowledgeable staff
We've been members for a few years and love visiting the zoo. Great facility.
Lots of construction going on, but I could see it s going to be a great zoo
Took the Grandchildren there - excellent presentation of a variety of animals, birds, etc. Habitats were well designed. Fun for all.
Fun! Fun! Fun! Take your child there any time and there will be disappointment.
I absolutely love the Portland zoo! The walk through is beautifully done!!! Lots of trees and water!
Most of the zoo was under construction..ok for lil ones though
One of my favorite zoos ever !! I am from San Diego, CA where they over charge. The most amazing part of this zoo is the location at Washington park where you can spend the whole day at.
This zoo has everything even insects !
Always an enjoyable experience. Looking forward to the new exhibits opening up this year and next year.
Most exhibits were closed and we still paid a ton to get in, not right!!!
The zoo is under construction right now, so we were not able to see a lot of animals. The animals we did see were either feeding or sleeping. The visit was still a fun family event, but a bit disappointing because many animals were not available.
Great zoo with lots to see. However, layout is confusing and can be difficult to navigate. Train doesn't really go anywhere interesting. And, there always seems to be one or more exhibits closed for one reason or another. Aside from these points, the experience has always been fun and interesting and will continue to return. Our two-year old loves it everytime.
Went here today with my boyfriend. It s a cute little zoo, but extremely overpriced!! And for being overpriced, there was tons of things that weren t open or animals that were not there. I understand a lot of places and exhibits don t open until summer, but maybe they should reduce the price for the winter hours while everything is closed. Girl that chased me out in the gift shop seemed like she absolutely hated her job but I guess you get that anywhere you go. Cute zoo, but there are plenty of better and cheaper ones in my opinion.
Fun for the kids, very busy, parking is terrible for the volume of people on nice days, there are a lot of changes and closed exhibits. Crocodile house is closed, polar bears are closed, hippos are closed, I am sure there is more currently as of 4/2018
Great zoo especially in the winter when the zoo lights are out up
Great exhibits and more being constructed. The elephant area is big, with lots of views of the herd.
Was a lot of fun, great for the whole family no matter what your ability level is.
Lots of animals, a few Portland weirdos and Timbers fans. Watch out for the Timbers fans they are scary. Great place to take families. We caught lots of pokemon while we were there.
The Portland zoo is great, unique mixture of animals and great exercise walking through the park. The christmas light display is really nice too. Only downfall is parking but take the max
What a disappointment, we went as a school field trip and Barely ANYTHING was open. I don t mean that the animals weren t coming out but that everything was Closed for construction or they were cleaning the facility. Out of the whole zoo we saw maybe 10 animals, most being birds and small animals.
It's a beautiful zoo and I imagine it will be more beautiful when the new renovations are finished.
Best to see when it's not too hot. The elephants have a great home. Also look up when feedings are. Puppet show for kids.
It's under heavy construction right now but they're trying to do some big things so just go with it.
Lots of fun. They have some.new exhibits that will be opening and we went early in the season but staff was friendly, zoo was clean. Kids loved it
My family an I really enjoyed ourselves. Next time I'll be mindful of the weather.
We absolutely loved our trip to the zoo there is some legwork walking around but the paths are really wide and smooth. The exhibits are beautiful as they've been redone and it was just a very pleasant enjoyable trip. It's $15 for adults however if you have a WIC or food stamp card you can buy 6 tickets at $5 each so go and have fun at the zoo where the animals are all rescues
Everytime I visit Oregon, i just have to visit this zoo. One of the best I've been too. Hope to be making a trip to Oregon sometime next year.
Love the new elephant exhibit. Can't wait till construction is done in the rest.
Not fun at all as half the exhibits were closed do to construction. It was a great disappointment. I won't be returning until the construction is done and all exhibits are opened.
Mother's Day at the Zoo. It was super busy,we had to park in the overflow parking. Which actually wasn't a big deal. It was super easy getting on the shuttle (school bus) and getting to the main entrance. Got in and I was expecting chaos. It was actually really relaxing even with 4 kids and crowds of people. Best Mother's Day outing ever. :)
Always a favorite. I grew up going here and its amazing to see how they are expanding so many of the enclosures so the animals have more space. Can't wait to see more of the renovations finished
$18.... Love this place! Take my daughter and my nieces and nephews! It's about $18 for adults and $13 for kids 3-11 under that it's free. There is also a program called zoo for all and if you are low income with an EBT card it's only $5 each any day. No exclusions. My mom gets a mobile wheelchair for less than $40 for the whole day, or the push one for $15. It's $10 for strollers and I know they rent double ones too. Well the polar bear exhibit doesn't open till 2021 but other than that you can always check them out on their website. I take the max train sometimes because you don't have to pay for parking which is $5.00 for the day. And if you show your bus pass it's an additional $1.50 off entrance per person. Well I hope this was informative to whoever is reading. Have fun :)
Not as many animals as I hoped and I was also unhappy about the construction going on, they are still working on the primate section.
Though lots of expansion, this is a great zoo for families.
I really have one of the very best days of my life when my very best friend who I think was allso like a dad to me,Glen R.Iveson took me and my blue hippo, which I gave to a very good friend of my mine named,Less for his birthday, way back in 2017.I still have my zoo ticket and picture that we took together,Glen pass away on 8/16/20 he was 64 years old,God bless his soul he was one of the very best things that ever happened to me in mylife&I so very, very much miss him and will allways love him for allways taking care of me know matter how bad I was. Thanks Glen.
Have a membership and always fun place to go. Parking is hard so if you can ride the max.
Very nice zoo but the train was lacking because it's under construction. We bought tickets and no where it said it was under construction. So when we got on we were very dissatisfied
I've never wanted to cuddle with something that could rip me to pieces so much until now...
Beautiful day. Leaves gently falling. All animals out and observable. The only downside which I don't don't the zoo for is all the exhibits shut down due to renovation zoo but you have to have improvements.
We love the Oregon zoo and go as often as possible.
Love the Oregon Zoo. It is not too big but a good amount of displays and once the construction is completed we will become regular visitors again.
Really beautiful grounds. The staff is doing a great job social distancing and helping visitors be safe.
Great variety of animals and expansions coming soon!
Parking was confusing. It's a nice zoo but expect to pay a pretty penny
It's mostly under construction right now but still one of my favorite places to go.
The zoo was crowded on its annual free day. I enjoyed myself and the animals were out playing! It was great!
It was informative, clean, and had a wide variety of animals.
This zoo has its own uniqueness and beauty to it. A very relaxing place to visit.
Great zoo. Good event management. World class elephant breeding program.
Great place to take the family and food carts with quality food!
It can get pretty busy with the nicer weather, but if you have a little patience it's a great place to spend the day with kids or for me my grandson, who had a ball!
I ve been going to that Oregon zoo since before I could walk. I recently went back and was amazed at the improvements they ve made. They truly care about all of the animals and take very excellent care of them. Most of their animals are ones that could not survive in the wild. Only a couple were born in captivity.
Omg I took my daughter there and she is 1 yr old and she loved it
This is a great zoo! Im not a fan of zoo's normally, but the enclosures are large and the animals are well cared for. The park is undergoining construction right now, so its not at its best, but the staff was friendly and the food and other prices were very reasonable.
It has the best elephant program of any zoo in the world.
