It was fun to walk around New York City and Times Square with my family
Clean and hospitable rooms, ideally located for getting around on foot or by metro. Ask for a room on the upper floors that the view is spectacular
The conference that I was attending was great. The first day was a little cold in the ballroom but now its much better
A living museum very well located for a discovery stay
Extra small bathroom. If you are lucky you ll get one of the renovated rooms that feel a little bit less outdated. But at least is clean and in a very good location.
Stayed here a few years ago, can't complain. The rooms were on the small side but it's New York, you don't spend time in your room, only in there to sleep. Comfortable, clean and reasonably priced, that'll do me!
One of the nicest hotel in Times Square. We recommend. Great service & quiet nights!
Centrally located great place to use as a home base
The hotel was ok but it was expensive and not worth the money.
My first hotel stay in new york city and it was the absolute best.... Anna the front desk clerk upgraded me to a fantastic 2 room suite for a mere 60 dollars. It was room 2234 it had a terrace and absolute gorgeous view of the city including the empire state building and the new tower one (world trade center).
Very nice and comfortable hotel with an average restraunt nearby.
Hidden fees , front desk staff is rude, they have a vacation sales desk they call the concierge. the rooms are old and small, they have a laundry room that hotel guests can't use (it's for a hostel?). But I'll probably stay there again. Because you just can't beat the location for the rate!
The double bed suite wasn't as special as you would expect.
Very ornate entrance but rest doesnt live up to your first impression.rooms ok in my opinion but bathroom very small.was expecting spacious bathroom
Great room Double beds. With beautiful view on 33 floor. For European. 1.87. Beds are a bit short.
This is a show off hotel because of the great location, excellent views, and classy decor. The single queen rooms are tiny. So use that as excuse to stay out til you have to sleep.
Nice. Great location. Very helpful and affable staff.
Great stay! The room was clean and had an awesome view of the Empire State Building. VERY close to Penn Station and Times Square. The Tic Toc diner was very reasonably priced. Great family hotel. Very satisfied!
Outdated, small and bias staff members. I sat outside and watch the doorman/bellhop eagerly help a man in a Maserati w a garment bag and seen him watch a guy in a white standard car struggle with three + bags.
-Lobby is fairly nice rooms are horrible.
-The stars are for location.
-The shower is more like a mist w no lining
-The circular lamps are filthy
-The blanket on the bed is not a comforter. It's a two sheets w a pad between the two.
-The toilet is extremely low.
-Cracks and patch work are all over internal n external of the units.
We're lucky enough to get a room with the view to the Empire States
For the location (short walking distance to Times Square /Empire), the rate was excellent at $150/night. Very friendly and helpful staff and clean rooms. A couple of the floors house visiting students. The walls are thin so sound does transfer from room to room.
Service was very friendly and the fitness facility was far above average. But corridors were dingy and run down and the room had almost no sound proofing. Made for a loud stay.
Great hotel near times square and other midtown amenities, still the convention center seems a little claustrophobic
They location for our needs was perfect and could not have been more convenient. The front desk staff are beyond friendly and helpful Jose especially , but all of them were just lovely. All of the housekeeping staff we ran into were friendly and helpful as well! They get 4 stars as does the location. The room we had seemed modern and updated but we loved the classic features around the building lending to it's history. Only negative was the other staff; concierge staff, and all others not at the front desk or housekeeping were rude and dismissive. It's a shame because if the staff collectively was as nice as front desk and housekeeping they would be better suited to work in the hospitality industry. Kudos to the front desk & housekeeping staff! A+ for you guys. Keep up the good work maybe it will rub off on your other co-worker's.
Overall it was a nice stay! Clean hotel. But the water in the showers is funky, goes hot and cold randomly
Decent hotel, the bathtub was a little gross and unclean and the reception wasn't the friendliest either.
We went with a suite room to have space for the kids and it was a great plan. The rooms were huge. The hotel was very nice even though it is old. Our small issues were dealt with very promptly and the staff were friendly. Great location for getting to tourist attractions. We had a great experience.
The New Yorker's, A Wyndham Hotel, is convinently located near restaurants and shops. The rooms are small and the lobby very busy. Room service arrived quickly when I needed an extra blanket.
We received a complementary room upgrade from the members desk when checking in. Service has been great so far!
Very nice hotel! Superb location. We hear sirens in the evening it is the only downside. You can not be wrong.
Were charged an additional 45$ a night 'resort fee' and a 30$ a night 'service fee' despite prepaying for the room online. Rooms were small and seedy, smelled of cleaning supplies, and the bathroom had suspicious looking brown stains on the door. Hallway and lounge smelled of alcohol and smoke (despite supposed no smoking policy). Were promised a room above the 19th floor but received one on the 8th. Overall an unpleasant experience.
Terrible experience at this hotel. Everything is outdated here. The rooms are small, the customer service is terrible, was charged for a movie we did not watch, and they do not have enough carts to load your own luggage. Take your business elsewhere. You're better off at a Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton, etc.
Still my preferred location when attending the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show
We stayed for a week.we initially felt it was costly. But the room we had got had a very good view of the city and the service was also good.Nive place to stay to visit places in NY
Good, but very old. Decent pricing for New York in high business season.
Nicola Tesla lived on the 33rd floor until his death in 1943
Ideal for honeymooners, it has amche near the subway that leads directly to the airport.
I came too this hotel about a year ago and the food and room was alright.so i wanted tho eat something so i decided to drop by
Perfectly functional historic New York hotel in an ideally convenient location. The last place Nikola Tesla lived, there is still a touch of 20's/30's style elegance throughout.
The Tick-Tock diner built into the hotel provides an excellent option for breakfast or dinner, the staff courteous and efficient and the rooms clean with all the standard mod-cons.
I've never had a room with a view across the city alas, although they do exist, however that is hardly a drawback given one does not go to New York to stay in the hotel.
Clean rooms and bathrooms (plenty of towels and of course a hair dryer. Very centrally located. Unfortunately the street noise (nightly garbage collection) can be heard up to the 25th floor. Otherwise everything was great and a very nice and helpful reception. There was the possibility of luggage would be in safekeeping. Would check in there again.
Location is the only thing working for this hotel. The rooms are very small and the utilities aren't up to the standard of to other 3 star hotels leave alone 4 star up scale hotels. The bathrooms were tiny and the housings were rusty or damaged in couple of places. You have to request for coffee and toiletteries. On top of all this there is an unnecessary resort fee charged which I have never seen other hotels charge although having the same sort of amneties. If you want to stay in midtown I would recommend club quarters over newyorker.
In dire need of renovation. Non-existing sound isolation.
Newly renovated area means the bathroom is the size of a matchbox. Room was fancy enough with a good view, beds were super soft.
It's not bad, just old-fashioned, cramped, decadent indoor halls ... everything looks clean, but that's a must ... if you're looking for a trendy place, it's not here. The location is ok, next to the giant Macy's and from there it's just kicking up on 5th or to Soho, or nothing that Uber doesn't solve quickly
Excellent location, a few blocks from the Empire State Building, just meters from the subway. Clean and comfortable rooms
Room was very clean and comfortable. Security was very helpful.
The hotel is at very good location. Be careful when you book your staying.l The hotel charges you with additional fees not anounced in advance.
Hotel was GREAT. Parking staff not so much, but the front end manager was on point!!! And dont ask for a bell hop yo bring down your luggage..you'll be waiting as there was only ONE available..yet not..
This is a great place to do some work and chill for a little bit.
Drinks where amazing will stay next time for the night
Not that many seats in the lobby and bathrooms were hard to locate.
A decent older hotel that is close to the center of NYC
It was really great. The gentleman is a counter gave me a room with a fantastic View. All the people are nice and the nostalgia was fantastic
I'm still here! Smallest room ever!! Very clean but so small. I am from vegas but damn. I guess you need a suite here for normal size? Didnt see bell boy but didnt need it. Long check in lines but nice lobby. Great location!
My room was one of the larger that I've had during my stays in NYC. This may have been unusual at this hotel though. Yes the place is older, but things are adequate. The furnishings are up to date, e.g. Couch, bed, TV, desk window treatments, but the bathroom is dated.
My main issue with this place is the location. I'm fine with it for my own safety, but after dusk, the area gets a bit sketchy. You are kiddy corner from Penn Station, which can be a bit rough with all of the characters that loiter about. If you're with a group of teenagers or kids as tourists, just be careful when it gets dark near the hotel.
Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz
Great location, especially if attending an event at the garden. Rooms are small and pricey. Valet parking is a must have.
We have stayed at the New Yorker several times now. Every time, it is a pleasure. The service there is excellent, and the decor is elegant. The one issue we have run into is the old plumbing. Our last stay, our shower was only scalding hot or ice cold. There was no in between. I made it work, but it definitely detracts from the stay. I still recommend the hotel for the location across from Penn station and Madison Square Garden as well as accessibility to Times Square.
We really liked it. Very central. Our view room was modern and very clean. I would repeat
Decent place, smaller rooms but hey, this is NY. Extraordinary service, great view, closer to Javits and Times Square, subways are closer too.
Perfect hotel for sightseeing in New York. Staff extremely helpful.
Well centered for New York, but you really need to be lucky to have a beautiful room with a beautiful view otherwise we quickly fell on a wall opposite
The hotel rooms are much worse than the pictures. Rooms are tiny and everything is super old. It s worse than some motels. I m pretty shocked now tbh. But the price wasn t too bad. And the location is prime. It s all about what you want.
