Room was old and TV was outdated. Room felt drab. Even though it's an old Art Deco hotel, better carpet in hallways and fresh paint would go a long way. Front desk was very nice. Although there was security before elevators, somehow a drunk man found his way to my room and knocking at 2am. I called security and they took care of the situation but I didn't get any sleep. I think security downstairs should have stopped this guy and escorted him to his room since they said he was noticed earlier in the evening being inebriated. Hotel didn't say anything when I checked out.

Probably the best hotel in NYC. This time unfortunately there weren t any rooms left for me to stay in but on my next trip I definitely will choose this hotel again. Been coming here for 15 years. It s very close to 34 street Penn station subway and LIRR trains. Opposite side are located a McDonalds and a famous Famiglia Pizza restaurant.

The seating was readily available with a little wait; it was supposed to be 15-20 minutes, however, we were seated in 3 minutes. The food was good with a short wait for that as well. Definitely recommend the BBQ ranch burger, but it could come with a little more waffle fries.

This Hotel isn't even worth 10% of what you pay for. Old and dilapidated structure. On services it is a great confusion to read one thing and give another. Everything is paid and expensive !!! High prices.

It has nice lobby, they try to hard sell you on a time share there. Rooms with queen beds are the smaller version. The bathroom was very small. No place to set your stuff down in there. Sink drained slowly. Very aggressive security by the elevators, multiple issues during out stay. Plenty of things close to this location.

Recently stayed for five days . We paid for a queen room with a view but got a room we weren't happy with . We stayed in this for one night then changed room to a fantastic room which made the holiday .the hotel is in an excellent location and has a lovely diner attached to it with great food and ambience to it .
Shamagne and Elijah on reception were great to us. The room was cleaned daily and I would love to stay again if I was back in New York

The first time I took my boys to the city I love, my mom reserved a nice room, but like most new places in New York, space was cramped. I was claustrophobic in the one person wide hallway and we couldnt open the door all the way because it hit the bed. We would be spending xmas there so I called the new yorker and got us 2 rooms. We loved it, and we have never stayed elsewhere since. Big, spacious rooms and windows that open so you feel that amazing breeze and just feel the city vibe. Its centrally located between the financial district and the CP west and right across from the garden and empire state.

A solid Midtown hotel, if you need one. Aside from the clean enough and quiet enough rooms, it s a joy to see an occasional Art Deco element of the hotel s original design peek through the detritus of a 100 years of change: observe the gorgeous geometrical angles where the walls of your room meet the ceiling, or the elevator doors, no doubt. The old but still-functioning bathroom fixtures, closet doors, and knobs I consider a plus, and a vote of optimism for a time when once again mankind will create actually durable goods.

Very poor experience. Rooms are very dated, and very small, bathroom is clunky. Checkin process was unpleasant. Breakfast was not good. We only had one bathrobe in our room, we asked to add one but it was never done. Bathroom door had visible water damage. Double bed felt really small. In addition, the hotel was greatly overpriced. We originally booked 4 nights there but due to the very poor experience we left after one night. NYC has much better hotels than this, don't go there!

The atmosphere was wonderful with the Art Deco stylings, but the room was small in comparison to other NYC hotels that are priced similarly. The staff was kind and the 24 hour diner attached to the lobby was incredibly convenient.

No stars at all. STAY AWAY. ! ! Horrible customer service. Lots of incorrect information and when I spoke with the manager to inform him that employees repeatedly give incorrect information causing a lot of frustration and lengthy delays, the manager OLSEN (if he was) became very defensive. I mentioned that possibly it might be better if his staff referred customers to the correct department in order to get accurate information, he became very upset with me stating "your just trying to take out your frustrations on me".... this is supposed to be a manager. I offered a solution idea to a huge problem they are having. I would not let my dog stay here..

We got upgraded to a suite. There was loads of room. We had one room with 2 double beds, a study area, a mirror and a chair. There was also a TV. Another room with a pull out bed. Very comfortable aswell. There is a fridge in the room. We got breakfast on the go vouchers. Very friendly staff and felt very secure. They check if you have a key card before letting you up to the floors. The cleaning staff were fantastic. The hotel is in a very central location. Less than 2 minutes to Penn station. Most attractions were in walking distance.

Doing the best they can. Built in 1922 and shows it in a million little ways. Quirky dimensions to the room, huge by nyc standards vathroom, a lobby that never empties. Epect to wait for check in. Packed at all times. Sold and consumed by Europeans on holiday to nyc. Short 2 min walk to msg and penn center train. Location, location and it has it. Lovable in an offbeat way but don't e,pet service or luxury. Overall great value for the rate. Room was very clean and housekeeping was great through stay...

The best: The location of the Hotel is unbeatable ...

The best: The location of the Hotel is unbeatable is on 34th Street next to Madison Square Garden. It is a very well connected street since it is the Penn Station that by metro takes you to any part of the city. You will be located in Midtown so you are close to everything important. Walking you can go to TimeSquare and other areas of the city.
It has a good wifi that is very appreciated to prepare the next day.
Calle 34 is a great shopping street since you have the main and most important stores in the city (speaking of average price, not of luxury Gucci type stores).
Good for cleaning

The worst: it needs a good reform, it is an art deco building, which is correct but for its HIGH PRICE, it should be more updated.
The Dinner underneath is also no big deal, the only good thing is that it is open 24 hours a day.

Free upgrade to a suite, they put me on top of the 40th floor, dead center with a view of the empire. Called ahead to ask for a downtown facing room with my fiance...they didn't give me what I wanted, and I'm glad. Great service as well.

Good beds, and very comfortable after a long day of walking. The cleaners are nice and they leave everything clean. The bad thing was the breakfast service, since the employees do not have a very good attitude and are unfriendly, especially when you do not have to leave a tip for having vouchers delivered by the hotel.

The New Yorker A Wyndham Hotel is nicely located near the middle of Manhattan and the subway is conveniently located within steps of the building. Rooms are small, just like the rest of the hotels in Manhattan, but are pleasant and quiet. The staff are not overly nice but are accommodating enough. For the price, I would say it's decent enough and the interior has been renovated. If you're looking for a place to stay near the javits convention center, this is just two bus stops away from where you want to be. Minus one star for tiny rooms and average customer service, 4 stars for comfort, central location and easy access to public transportation.

This may have been a 4 star hotel in the 30s but not any more. The rooms are very very small and the furniture is old and cheap. The windows are not isolated and you have the noise from the streets throughout the night. This is a 2.5 star hotel. The location is the only thing that is good.

Great location, very close to shops when you want to shop a little, as well as shops where you can buy things you need, like toothpaste and the like. There are of course also many good eateries in this area, most casual / street food. Our room is great, with desk and a little, but nice, bathroom (we also paid a little extra for a little more space and stuff then). Did not get a good view, but you have to say that you want when you book. There is a capsule machine in the room, which makes good coffee, but since it is for capsules you can not exactly make what you want from hot drinks .. You have to pay extra to get a minibar / fridge, but the bed is very good and comfortable. It is also quite quiet here at night. The service I have little to say other than that the room service people do not seem to clean our room if we do not open the door for them, even though we remove the "please come back later" sign from the door handle.

Management is rude, they don't even know what customer service is. upon my arrival, a manager was fighting with a guest. Yelling to the guest. Receptions and mangers rude and racist unwilling to cooperate and explain the situation to the guest. They refused their black guests service not only cuz they were black. They also don't give you your deposit money back you literally have to fight them to get your money back. the is one female manager who is so rude and incompetent made they stay and aftermath hectic

Visited NY for 4 nights with my dad. Safe was out of battery and not usable but no big deal for us. No complimentary tea or coffee though which was a bigger issue for us but again not the end of the world. Fine if your out all day and just using for sleep, really comfy beds and and decent showers. Within walking distance of most attractiions.

Great view, Great city, Decor needs updating.

Great view, Great city, Decor needs updating.

Very luck to be upgraded to an external view room - with a gorgeous view of the Hudson - however the room was a little lacking. We were in a suite for 5 people - two doubles and one sofa bed - which is incredibly rare in New York!

The room was large and spacious with comfortable beds - including the sofa bed! However there was only one bathroom between the five guests which was interesting. The bathroom itself was dirty, dated and needed some serious work to bring it up to modern standards.

Apart from the bathroom, the room came with complimentary Wi-fi, a TV with a few scattered channels (albeit a little noisy/pixelated) and a large fridge.

The key draw for this hotel is it's location. Very close to Empire State, The Hudson and Time Square. Over the road from Madison Square Garden and Penn State station.
