I am always shocked at how fun this place is. It's kept up very well, and always looks maintained. The gardens and overall outdoor museum grounds are absolutely gorgeous in the spring. If you can get there in the fall, the change of leaves is incredible. Such vibrant colors! The trolls were a nice touch, and we hope that they bring them back. We were really enthusiastic about going because we had heard from several friends and family that it was fun. We were not let down. At almost 1,700 acres, there is so much to see. I've read that there are over 200,000 catalog plants. How can they keep track!!?? Next time, we would like to check out the four acre children's play area. It looked really nice. Overall, take your time and enjoy this place. It's peaceful.

Such an amazing outdoor space. After coming here once, I decided to purchase the membership, and it's the best $60 I've ever spent!! I can come here to walk, run, bike, drive around, meditate, take photographs, easy lunch, lay on the ground, explore nature, and so much more.

Invited by friends who are regular visitors. It was or first time. We ABSOLUTELY loved exploring the area. The kids had a blast. It was a great way to spend a day if spring break!

A great time to visit is during the fall when the leaves turn colors. we went there during christmas to see all the lights. it was cold and its about a mile walk to go fully around the display but they do have warming centers scattered throughout the place.

Great place and recommend the 45min tour with guide as is huge. Food good and reasonably quick given the large number of people. Pay to check out the web re activities as is often very busy.

Beautiful location. Miles of walking trails. The children's garden is so much fun, especially in warmer weather. There is a man-made stream for wading without mud. Pumps and fountains, lots of nonswimming water fun.

I have only been for the Christmas Illumination. It's fantastic! Tips: avoid the crowds go during the week. Bring your own thermos of hot beverage and snacks. Use the bathroom when you first arrive as there are none along the trail.

Beautiful area with guided tour (tram) or drive yourself through, great children's garden. In winter they have "Illuminations", an outdoor light show throughout several of the garden areas- highly recommended.

The chocolate event was advertised in AAA magazine. It was nothing but a bunch of vendors hawking their wares! Most of them didn t even offer samples. The Arboretum didn t do anything to make it an event . No information on farming- nothing. They just sold tables to make money and got us in and made money on that.

I have been visiting the Morton arboretum for over 12 years. I used to take the children I nannied for their for classes and outside play time. I now have my own in home childcare and I have a pass to take these children. I believe it offers a lot of fun activities for children to explore nature. The children enjoy the water areas and the yearly exhibits such as the scarecrows in the fall and the Christmas lights in the winter. The restaurant offers great food, although little pricey, and I enjoy that they have a coffee shop here. Only thing I think they could improve on is that year after year nothing changes much. So once the children have gone to he children's garden many times they would love to have some different things to do from year to year. Other than that I recommend the arboretum to enjoy exploring nature by yourself or with a group of children.

I really think this ticket is overpriced I understand that to maintain a huge place like that it got to be expensive but I expected to see more beautiful land scape, I mean it is great for hiking and has worderfull types of trees but not really flowers or other type of garden plants I was expecting I think maybe I was expecting more a botanic garden type of place or at least some part of it, luckily I went a day they got a beautiful bonsai exposition and they had really remarkable bonsais in there, also the wood trolls were made really great but still overpriced place for me.

This was our first time visiting the Arboretum. Beautiful space! It was much larger than we anticipated and the distance between the Trolls, which is the exhibit we went to see, was too far I'm between. We didn't plan well for that. Still this is a place to which we will return.

This is a great place for a day with nature, with family, friends or just by yourself. Take a bike ride, a hike, drive in your car anyway you want, but don't forget to stop and enjoy your surroundings. Breath often and deeply, all those trees are producing the oxygen you need.
They offer different exhibits through out the year and other activities. There is always something to do here.

First of all, let me make a response to the "M&M girl" account who made one of the most ignorant comments/review of this amazing place. She sounds like someone who may never appreciate nature and hold the slightest appreciation and respect for anything outside of her cell phone and social life. These people at the Morton Arboretum bust their a$$es to showcase nature from over 40 different countries. They shipped all of those rare trees and other exotic plant life into this observatory so that YOU could experience something you may never get to see in your entire lifetime. It may not mean much to you and your reality blinders, but it means a heck of a lot to me along with thousands of others who would graciously pay double the small fee they currently charge just to be able to visit this place again.

I can only hope that your brain evolves enough in the near future to be able to understand the importance of nature and learn how to show some respect for people who work hard for a positive thing.

Thank you Morton Arboretum.

Amazing place to go to get back into nature -if you live in the suburbs. It takes about 10 min to drive through the East or West side. But once you find a place to explore, park your car and go on a long hike - for several miles. Trees have been planted from all over the world. This place has lots of volunteers to help tend the landscape, act as guides, or just pick up litter, if they can ever find any. Great place to visit once or to become a member and make it a regular get away.

It's okay. The troll hunt was cool, good photo ops at the secret troll hideout as well. But overall I'd rather drive out to the Chicago botanic gardens, cheaper and more enjoyable. We went on one of the yearly "tails on the trails" days, which I would recommend if you're looking for an adventure to take your pup on.

Absolutely love going here with my family. The plants are beautiful any time of year and the trails have a wide range of length/difficulty. It s a great place to draw, take pictures or just take a pleasant walk. Nothing to complain about really.

A little patch of heaven on earth. A place close to the city where you can get back to nature. Very relaxing, and exciting all at the same time. I am very happy to continue my membership.

The Arboretum has a wide variety of events and activities that go beyond the marvelous walking trails to see trees, plants and gardens. They have an amazing child garden that will entertain kids for hours. They also have have a train exhibit in the winter, illumination lights festival in winter and trade shows, ethnic fests and more that bring food, crafts and music. If you might go a couple times in a year get the membership as paying each time can get expensive. I've been to a wedding there as well and the venue, food and location was very nice.

The troll hunt is fun, you can drive close to msot of the locations or walk to them as well. This place is huge and has a vast variety of plants, trees, etc. Very well cared for, very impressive. The gift shop and cafeteria are good too.

A wonderful place keeping trees important to people. Great walks thru a variety of woody landscapes. A great area for kids to explore and learn about nature. Only drawback is the entrance area and main buildings are crowded most weekends. Get beyond that and you're in any number of idylls created by nature and arborists.

Excellent place for kids. The kids garden and "Adventure Woods" is the coolest park I've been to. Lots of activities and games to play and there's a garden maze- plus another maze for little ones.

Love coming here in the summertime! It's easy to find a place to sit down and read because it's so BIG! My mom and I recently visited in February for dog admission day and it was lovely. The only issue I've ever had here is that there are runners on the road which is annoying because there are trails all over designated specifically for you to get your jog on. GET OFF THE ROAD FFS

If you haven't been to the Morton Arboretum to see the Illumination light show, it is well worth the price of admission. Lots of folks go to see the lights but there's lots of parking and buses that shuttle you back and forth; it's a snap! If you go be sure to stand in front of the display known as Treemagination... UNREAL, STUNNING, CAPTIVATING and everyone will absolutely love it. Is never seen anything like it. There's plenty to enjoy; warming tents providing refreshments, campfires along the route... Plenty for kids of all ages to enjoy. Mike long path makes it easy to walk along the other visitors. Restaurant, gift shop, educational exhibits... Very glad we went!
