Very pretty. Tickets are a little pricey for a family. Charging 15.00 would have been better. Also offering coffee during the walk would have been nice. Just having cider and hot chocolate stinks.

I went to the seed swap today. It was fabulous! I came home loaded with seeds for flowers, vegetables, gourds, herbs and trees. All free! Growing books were for sale and the Resiliency Institute had a booth.

I was very surprised about this place. It has a lot to do and you can't do it all in one trip. We spent about 2 hours here hiking. There are a lot of paths some paved and some with wood chips. There is a lot of stuff to do with kids with the children's garden and the different exhibits. When we went they built trolls out of wood and scattered them across the park. It was fun finding them. You have to use clues they give you to find the Troll hideout. We didn't have any kids with us but still did the Troll hunt. It was really fun!

We were a little late to see the trees in full Fall color, but did go on the troll hunt and checked out some of the scarecrows. Had a great time. See the website for info on hours and the huge trolls made from recycled wood. Next thing to see is the Illumination. Always beautiful.

One of the most beautiful places you will visit, especially in the fall. Enjoy the trails, bike, or just drive through. There is an east side and a west side. Check out the trolls and other special events (like Illuminations, the Christmas light show, which is drop dead amazing). Admission is reasonable but becoming a member is a better value if you visit
more than once or twice a year. Don t miss this place!

Went for the first time too see the trolls and Legos and it was fun. Trolls to me are very far apart lots and lots of walking or drive to them. Actually wish more of them. Legos were very cool. The food was actually very good also.. the only thing food is slow coming out.

1500 acres of trees from all around the globe. Well maintained. A visit during each of the four seasons is a must. If you're local, buy the pass and come back often. I eat lunch here during the work week.

Never been to a nicer place than this! 5 hours and we only walked half of the park! Poured rain all day and we had a great time!

Pros: great for singles, couples, families alike
Children's garden is great for adults too.
The hedge maze is amazing! They have a little one for children.

Cons: a little pricey for the day but an amazing adventure

Have attended several of their exhibitions. Last one being the Troll Hunt. Certainly the coolest exhibit I've attended so far. The trolls are not only impressive, but hilarious too. My hats off to Danish sculptor Thomas Dambo.
I have not explored all of what the Arboretum has to offer, but very pleased with what I've seen.
Cantingy charges per automobile. Not the Morton Arboretum. They charge for every individual that's in your car. It gets expensive when you invite several of your friends (in my culture, you invite, you pay).

This is a fantastic garden: so much to explore that it can't be done in one visit! Spent most of our time in the 3 acre children's garden with so many different options for play. Restaurant was delicious. We used a reciprocal membership from another botanical garden.... Two adults got in for free!

Fun day trip, but entry was kind of expensive at $14 a person for adults. Nice trails for hiking and biking. A bit over commercialized, with the extra fees for other attractions and a kind of cheesy gift shop with garden gnomes etc. Still a good break from the suburbs, plenty of trees, wildlife, etc, but even at the most remote locations you can still hear the sound of the cars and trucks on the highway and airplanes overhead so you're reminded that you're still completely surrounded by suburbs. Also there was quite a bit of poison ivy growing right along the edge of major trails, even creeping out into the walkway at points, so be careful about walking near the sides.

The Morton Arboretum is such a beautiful place. It was my first time going there after years of wanting to check it out. A serene and gorgeous place. I can't wait to come back! Even on a chilly day in November it was beyond enjoyable

Took my 83 year old mother here and it was wonderful. She is in a wheelchair and I could roll her up the ramp onto the tour tram and took the very beautiful and informative tour. Many of the paths are paved and easily accessible by wheelchair. I wish it were closer to my home. I would be there all the time. EVERYONE from the service desk, to the gift shop, to the tram conductor were super pleasant and helpful. A lovely place....think I will definitely have to go back in the fall

Go see the trolls!!!! Unfortunately you aren't allowed to touch them due to the Covid restrictions, but they are still a wonderful exhibit. Lastly, the trails were recently remultched to and from the trolls so try not to wear flip flops or sandals at least for a few weeks until the mulch mounds go down.

Had a great time here with my friend and my dog. Busy today, with lots of dogs and people-- yet people were very nice. My friend and I got accidentally separated, and a ranger took special care to take care of her and find me.

gorgeous. Definitely mostly built for kids but it was stunning. My favorite part was the toad/frog nursery. I went when it was tadpole season and you can scoop some up with your hands, a unique experience. also they only sell reusable water bottles, really expressing how deeply they care and advocate for the environment.

A beautiful park in the first place, but an amazing sight during the "Illumination" light show. Make sure you stop by the breathing stand of trees. Well worth waiting through the cycle of different effects.

This is the place to connect with nature. I have been there with Family and we enjoyed alot. The place is huge so make sure you wear cloths and shoes which are comfortable for long walks. We came here before fall but this will be heaven if you visit this place in fall season. There is dedicated garden for Kids which huge enough so you can spend whole day here with kids without they getting bored. The place has a maze which is too good and be careful you might get stuck. You have to bring out your detective to find the way out.

The place has store where you will find multiple things you would like to take home. The restaurant here has very great view with lake in front and then the green trees. The glass is so clean that it looks like the place is open which is not.

Here you will find different kind insects and birds. The place is clean where ever you go. The place has so many different things varieties that you need to visit and then you have to experience the same.

A must visit...

A gorgeous, huge environment to explore - but be prepared! At 1700 acres, this place was far larger than I ever expected, so I wasn't able to see nearly all of it. Well worth it if you've got a day to spend outdoors. Will be back better prepared.

About The Morton Arboretum

The Morton Arboretum is a renowned botanical garden located in Lisle, Illinois. It was founded in 1922 by Joy Morton, the founder of the Morton Salt Company. The arboretum spans over 1,700 acres and features an extensive collection of trees and plants from around the world.

One of the main goals of The Morton Arboretum is to inspire visitors to appreciate and learn more about trees. With over 222,000 live plants representing nearly 4,300 species, there is no shortage of opportunities for visitors to explore and discover new things about trees.

The arboretum's living collections are organized into various sections based on geography or plant type. For example, there is a section dedicated to conifers that includes over 100 different species from around the world. Another section focuses on oaks and features over 70 different species.

In addition to its living collections, The Morton Arboretum also offers a variety of educational programs for visitors of all ages. These programs include guided tours led by knowledgeable staff members as well as classes on topics such as tree identification and gardening.

One unique feature of The Morton Arboretum is its Children's Garden. This interactive space allows children to explore nature through hands-on activities such as digging in dirt pits or playing with water features.

Another popular attraction at The Morton Arboretum is its seasonal events. In the fall, visitors can enjoy the "Fall Color Festival" which showcases the vibrant colors of autumn foliage throughout the arboretum's grounds. During winter months, visitors can take part in "Illumination: Tree Lights", an outdoor light show featuring thousands of LED lights set against a backdrop of trees.

Overall, The Morton Arboretum offers something for everyone - whether you're a nature enthusiast looking to learn more about trees or simply looking for a beautiful place to spend an afternoon with family or friends. Its commitment to education and conservation make it not only an enjoyable destination but also an important resource for preserving our natural world.

In conclusion,
The Morton Arboretum has established itself as one of America's premier botanical gardens thanks largely due its vast collection that inspires people from all walks life towards appreciating nature while learning more about it at every turn.
With numerous educational programs catering towards both adults & children alike coupled with seasonal events like Illumination: Tree Lights during winter months showcasing thousands upon thousands LED lights set against backdrops made up entirely out-of-trees; this place truly has something special waiting just around every corner.
