Beautiful, wild, natural settings with wide open spaces and nice trails. We could have spent the whole day exploring. The trolls were cool, but frustrated that covid prevented us from getting closer.
Well maintained, beautiful place! Admission is cheap on Wednesday too, and it's totally worth it! You could spend a whole day here.
Great place to walk, hike or ride, any season. Creative staff to decorate the season. Love the scarecrow made by scouts.
My mother brought my sisters and I here as kids and now we bring our children. Many of our family stories live there. A must experience.
As amazing as Jurassic Park but without all the dino drama.
Such a beautiful place to walk, bike, or drive around. They always have some sort of exhibit for people to see and a great children's area for kids to play in. This is a must-see if you find yourself in the suburbs.
This is a beautiful place to walk and enjoy nature. It is played out so that you can get ample exercise walking from area to area. There are various trees, and the landscape is breathtaking. They have it plant and color coordinated according to the seasons as well, which makes it especially nice. In the winter they put on an awesome outdoor light show that shouldn't be missed. There are always activities and demonstrations of various interests that provide opportunities to accommodate most. Last summer they even had a bonsai contest, with bonsai trees submitted by various owners to be judged by the public. The trees were amazing! They each were truly unique in their own right, and each one was a winner. I recommend this place for everyone. There is a senior discount. They do have a gift shop, and you can purchase food here. When they have events, there are more food stations outdoors to purchase food as well. You should add the Mortem Arboretum to your list of places to visit.
Tasty dining at the Ginko grill. Gluten-free and vegetarian options. Excellent salads. The gift shop offers unique gift selections. And these are just the extras. The arboretum, itself, is outstanding - especially in the Spring and Autumn.
Gorgeous location. Plenty of things to do and even places to sit down and have a nice picnic! Once you walk away from the visitors center you get some quite as well. Totally worth it.
Beautiful. We love the pathways and trails. Very clean and well maintained but still in keeping with the natural elements of nature.
The Morton Arboretum is a beautiful site. They offer something for all ages. What a great place to see and learn the names of plants and trees you have seen in your lifetime. For exercise, you can walk the many trails or bike the arboretum's drives. This is place you can enjoy again and again.
One of the more beautiful places in the greater Chicago area.
We loved the special exhibits. My kids had so much fun visiting the trolls and finding the clues to find the hideout. They also really enjoyed the Lego walk. We had a great time aventuring in the arboretum.
If you have kids and live near by you'll have to get a family pass to enjoy the spring summer and fall and everything this place has going. Waterfalls to large wooden forts it has everything in between, including a maze! Can't say enough, we love it here!!
Beautiful place, nice to spend some time with nature. Also has gift shop and cafeteria. Really nice children's garden for kids to play.
Not worth paying $15 you can get just as nice of an experience by going to a forest preserves
Went to hunt trolls. Natural wonderland with acres of trees from around the world. Walk, bike, drive with stop-offs along the way to take in the landscapes and hidden hollows. Always something going on seasonally.
We went to the illumination exhibit. It was beautiful, breathtaking and lots of fun. We were in a group of 18. Have been before and will go again, it's a little different every year.
Loved it! Great to walk around. Looking forward to coming back during the different seasons.
Liked the Hertage trail , so quite .... Takes you back in time away from the civilization , a real woods experience !
Awesome love it love all the wildlife to Deer the owls coyotes and all the flowers and in the summer the rivers the fish fantastic Place love it
Pricey but a great day trip. Trees are labeled on the trails. Lot's of great trails too. Many exotic plants that you won't see anywhere else. Deer walking around during the evening.
Wonderful trails and greenery. Great way to get out of the house and relax.
Went with 2 young relatives & spent time in children's garden. Very nice
The big and small loops have some good hills for runnig in Illinois. But it would be nice if they allowed you to run on the trails once in a great while.
More trails than you will ever be able to walk. Trees of the world. Family activities. Restaurant.
Very over rated. Trolls were way too far apart. Couldn't find any friendly employees to get directions from. All in all, a very disappointing experience. As Shakespeare would say, "Much ado about nothing. "
Beautiful place for long walks. The trolls are a must-see.
We had a great time at the light show here! What a fun experience!
Too expensive... for a walk in the well manicured woods. Children's garden was nice.... Botanical gardens for me.
One of the gems of the west suburbs- miles and miles of hiking trails w/ varied topography, trees and plants with many special events throughout the year.
Second time visiting the arboretum and still felt like we have only explored less than 10% of it! It s a very big area with gardens, trails, lakes, etc. Definitely recommend to families for a relaxing day. Biking and driving are on the same road, so just need to be slow and careful. The fragrance garden is small but elegant. The trolls have added a lot of fun to the arboretum. We got the membership and can t wait to come back for the fall foliage!
Beautiful place! We've been members for 6 years now and it's always a breathtaking visit!
Awesome expiration. So much to do with the family. From walking around hunting the trolls to playing in the children areas.
900 acres, so many trails. Even in the dead of winter it's worth a visit thanks to the exercise
The light display was amazing! A little pricey but very enjoyable.
Very many people enjoy all it has to offer. Wonderful place as an event venue as well. Great food and service.
Such a great place for a romantic stroll or to take the kids.
I love this place it always has something beautiful everyone can enjoy . definitely recommend and take your family !
It's huge, calm and good to go for a walk, picnic during the fall or summer and if you are tired you can ride along and watch the seasons.. at first there were not much colour change to see but after parking 6 it's beautiful and you'll enjoy the fall season.. there's an entrance fee of 15$ for adults and also a restaurant if u feel hungry.
Went for the Christmas Lights and it was beautiful.
This place is fantastic. They have tons of awesome areas to walk and hike, an awesome maze and a cool area just for kids. Go explore, learn and grow as a family.
We didn't get passes until this summer and saw the trolls, but I regret not coming here sooner. There are great trails, and they seem to always have events.
Visited here for the Lego Scupltures and Troll Hunt. Lovely grounds. A bit pricey for a day trip, $50 for a family of four. There is a maze and "treehouse". The kids area was closed around 2:30pm with no explanation, we assumed it was due to possible impending thunderstorms.
Thank you, Mr. MORTON, for leaving this magnificent property for our enjoyment and education.
It was very cool to see the trolls and walk around the forest preservs. Make sure you bring bug spray.
If you want to get away from the city, this is the place to go.
My kids have a lot of fun and there is an opportunity to teach as well.
The Lego display is pretty cool as well.
Beautiful place. Had to go back to visit the trolls. Outstanding!
It could be better having in mind that you have to pay to get in. In my opinion is a lights display not a light show.
Lovely place with many different vistas. Their autumnal pumpkin display was lush & vivid. Going back soon with pleasure
It is fun
Go there
Drive to the back and hike, way better then near the entrance.
Great nature area. Always enjoy watching the ducks and the serenity of the ares.
Wonderful place to walk around. Troll statues are incredible
Wonderful! Beautiful nature!! Trolls made day there spectacular and exciting!! Highly recommended!!
Beautiful place ! Specially in fall when leafs change colors on trees
Finally got here to see the festival of lights. It was everything I hoped.for and more! The refreshment tents along the walking path were such a fantastic touch!
Admission is worth every penny. Beautiful grounds and great place to take the family.
Lovely place with lots of trails, but the signage is sparse.
Awesome beautiful escape from urban life. Brad at the bike rental was super nice and informative. Will definitely return soon. Left feeling mentally detoxed and revitalized.
It's always a pleasure going to Morton Arboretum. It doesn't matter what time of the year as there is always something to see or if you just want a relaxing walk surrounded by nature.
