Just love this place. It's beautiful year round. If you find it too crowded on the east side, check out the west side. They offer bike rentals and cross country ski rental depending on the time of year.

Always a great time at Morton Arboretum. Beautiful gardens, great classes, great entertainment events. Children's garden is second to none. Top notch place. Member 20 plus years.

Love this place, but I must say if you don't have a membership, it's a bit pricey. Totally worth it if you love nature walks and learning about the outdoors! Great place to bring the kids, and perfect for first dates! Usually pretty crowded during events though so plan ahead because tickets sell out quickly!

This is a great to enjoy the outdoors and easily socially distance. Beautiful trails. Kids had an awesome time doing the troll hunt for the 6 trolls. All are easily accessible from paved parking lots-just a short walk down a flat mulched trail. Perfect day out!

Outstanding place to learn about Illinois native plants and trees

Absolutely Gorgeous! I finally decided to get a membership so I can go in as often as I want. Great place to take in the scenery, do a little exercise, or just hang out with family or friends. I highly recommend!!

Trolls, Legos and awesome hikes made for a great day!

We went as a group to do the Troll Hunt. What an adventure and they are so cool tucked around the grounds. Their Hideout was the treat! Kids especially were in awe of the Trolls. You have to experience it and share with your family and friends! Plus you have to see the Childrens Garden, Maze, TreeHouse, etc. that are regular sites there.

I had an awesome time viewing the lights in the whole place with my lady. But the only issue we had was there were no portapotty in the whole park!!! And the only restrooms are in the diner. Other than that we had a great time.

Always a great time with family. Their Troll Hunting experience is so much fun, I would encourage everyone to check it out. Illumination is wonderful too, but it can be a bit on the cold side! (But that can't be helped for the time of year...)

My kids love the children's garden. The paths are beautiful! Just saw the Illuminations exhibit and it was beautiful and fun. Prices in gift shop are about $5 too high. Food in cafeteria is mediocre and pricey, however, they allow outside food in the Arboretum, so it doesn't impact us much.

Always a good time hiking and looking at all the beautiful flower,trees and plants. Great place for the family. There is a place to eat, there are washrooms and you can bring your own food in for a picnic.

There's always a beautiful time in the season to go there. The trolls exhibit was very impressive. Dog Days are interesting. Specially you see so many dogs under good control.

Beautiful park, it is huge, if you are going to visit it, go with tennis and a lot of attitude to do the exercise of the day since you need to walk a lot to see all the trolleys and also admire all the types of flowers and trees that the place has .

Went with son, daughter in law, grandson, niece, great nieces and wife to the Christmas light show. Well designed, organized and artistic. We plan on going again next year

Beautiful illumination event under the snow. They could salt the walkways a little more but overall very well done.

Great place and clean well kept place and amazing light shows

We went to Illumination this year for 2nd time and probably won't be back. It's just not for us. There are too many people with no basic understanding of how to act in public and it was more frustrating than enjoyable. People just stop in the middle of the path to take pictures or let their toddlers walk at a snail's pace. Saying that, it is beautiful to look at. I guess it depends on what kind of person you are if you will enjoy this or not.

We've been members for several years and it's one of our favorite memberships. The grounds are beautiful, the Children's Garden is amazing and the special events are fun and unique. It's very easy to get to, with ample parking. The staff and volunteers are so friendly. The gift shop is one of the best I've ever been to. It's bigger than you'd expect and the selection is amazing. They offer a number of classes on nature and art. While I've never taken one, I understand from friends that they're excellent. We love this place!

The Illumination holiday show is amazing to see. It definitely warrants a visit if you're in town for the holidays.

Beautiful and nice place to enjoy nature with the family. They had activities for children and an area for them to play an enjoy the beautiful nature.They have a plant clinic,cafe, picnic area. A very peaceful place I highly recommend it!

I've lived in the Chicago area for most of my life, and I regret that I discovered this place just now! Really great place to take a long walk and enjoy nature. Place is huge, but there is a road that winds around the entire park and there are little parking lots along the way. The main parking lot (P1) was busy when we arrived, but the crowds disappeared as we got deeper into the park. Highly recommend and I plan on coming here regularly.

Morton always delivers, no matter when you stop by, but especially on Thursday evenings during the summer for kids concerts! Kids absolutely adore the the canopy walk, the creek, the pond with tadpoles/forgs/toads, various playgrounds, picnic area. Ponds, grounds, miles of trails, great restaurant for tired & hungry, with a sitting area overlooking the pond.

The events here make it worthwhile for sure. I've done the lights and trolls, both of which were great. I'm pretty sure the lights are a yearly thing around the holidays, so you can catch it next year if you miss it. The trolls will be going away at some point in 2019 though, so go check it out sooner rather than later.

I went when they had holiday lights being displayed. I've also been one other time outside of the holiday season. Outside of holiday season: still a nice place to go for a walk. They have some random massive troll statues that are pretty fun to look for. During holiday season: they have a specific area in which they decorate the trees with lights and have lights being projected onto the trees to create an entertaining experience.

The Christmas parties are Great! And the Father Christmas appearance from the woods is magical for kids!

This is one of my favorite places to relax and view nature at its finest. There are many various types of trees, but also multiple family oriented events, an excellent library, cafe, and a children's play area.

Great family fun. I am a member so I go there regularly. The Ginkgo Cafe has great food. Very fresh. The people are friendly and the Arboretum store has very unique items. I have been there many times for Illuminations and for the glass blowing pumpkin fest. I highly recommend going as often as possible. It is even pleasurable to take you umbrella and go for a walk in the rain.

Kids love it. The kid friendly gardens keep them entertained. They can kick their shoes off and walk into a portion of a pond. However, today we noticed that the creek was shut down. The staff mentioned to my wife that it depends on the amount of rainfall.

Depending on what time of the year you re visiting Morten Arboretum, it can be, a wonderful experience or a substantial disappointment.

Entry- $15 for general admission.

Since the Spring had already gone by, It s nowhere near Autumn yet, so during my visit last week all I stumbled across was mostly Green Hues; Scorching Sun & an absurdly crowded Place.

So be prepared & plan your visit accordingly!

Multiple activities on the Eastside as well as on Westside Like the Acorn Tram for which the tickets are available separately at the Visitor Center.

PS- The Tram is wheelchair accessible!

Additionally, Maze Garden & Children s Garden are a relatively interesting find.
Children s Garden, in numerous ways, offers hands-on activities for kids.

Food options are available such as a Cafe, a restaurant as well as Taco Corner & Pretzel bites.

What disappointed me the most was that I couldn t find any Troll during my visit & that was something I was utterly thrilled about in the first place.
Nonetheless, I hope you might find one!

The Arboretum is full of idyllic, natural beauty. It's also very affordable and approachable, despite its high-minded dedication to science. There is something for everyone here. I wish there were more places like the Arboretum.

Decent light not worth it without the comed discount

The Christmas Illumination show is beautiful! The 3D light show on the breathing trees towards the end is simply amazing.

Very relaxing and beautiful scenery, quiet, nicely maintained paths.

Beautiful place to take walks, take your children, they have a good court and little souvenir shops as well. The plants are very well taken care of and they host special events for all, especially children.

Prepare for lot of mosquitoes if you are going in summer

So many varieties of trees! It was such a fun family experience. Definitely bring your walking shoes

I love this place. So much that I just became a member. It's beautiful, well kept, staff is very friendly. They after taking time blocks at the moment to prevent too many people visiting at once. The place is very clean. Right now they have a fun maze to interact. The winter is also fun to go to the light show. Fun and interactive for people of all ages.

A beautiful experience. Finding all the trolls (limited time) was fun and got to see some amazing Lego animals (limited time). Wonderful kids play area and beautiful plants everywhere. A great way to spend a morning or afternoon.

Been visiting and a member for around 40 years. Around 2000 it's focus has shifted to fund raising through non-arboreal amusements, adding more and more formerly restricted activities for the sake of expanding membership & emulating the Chicago Botanical Gardens.

Most beautiful spring landscape and birds. Great for morning walks.

Lovely any time of the year. Perfect place to pop in some headphones and relax. Special events like Arboretum Lights and Theater in the Arboretum give reason to come by all year long.

Wooow! Is an understatement. The Christmas light walk was amazing! Warming stations that sold snacks, cider, hot chocolate. Real burning fires outside to warm up by. Each section you walk by is a show! Will be bringing more people to see. Paved wide walking path for easy accessibility.

The Troll Hunt brought us in, but the beauty won us over.

Such a special place in the suburbs. A great getaway to nature with options to hike trails, walk a short lake loop, drive various loops, bike or snow shoe. Easy to achieve social distance. Prior to the pandemic they also have offered well organized and fun events. Children's garden with play areas throughout and maze however this may not be open again for a while.

Visited for a wedding. Beautiful Venue. Tram tour was a great addition!

This botanical garden is big and full of plants and trees from all over the world. The gardens are fine, the woods are large, and it will take a few days to get around if you don't drive in. This botanical garden is well managed, the service is thoughtful . there is one particularly moving thing to share with you. I am a tourist from China. On September 4th, four of us came to this park and came to the tourist center. After we asked about the tour route ,then we followed the line we had guided .Less than an hour into the tour, a park security service car came along and asked for our identity. When they handed a small bag to me, I realized that I had accidentally lost the valuable. It has my ID card, social security card, and bank card. I was so touched and grateful to them. Oh my god! If they hadn't tried to find me and get it back, I would have been in great trouble. We were deeply touched by their eagerness . We hereby pay high tribute to them! We should to learn the great spirit of loveing and helping others from them.

Wonderful place to spend some time and reflect, or hunt trolls with the kids.

Cafe surprisingly great. Thought I was in store for cold chicken fingers but was really pleasantly surprised.

Go get those trolls!
