I've been coming to the Arboretum since before my kids were born and it brings me find memories of my grandparents that brought me here then. I loved it then and still do. Hope to bring my grandkids here years to come.

The line to enter this place was long. I mean it took 10 minutes to reach the gate. It was crowded at the visitor's center as well but once my girlfriend and I began hiking the farther trails, it quieted down. For tree enthusiasts, there are many types of trees from different parts of the world. For nature enthusiasts, the landscape is beautiful and the area is set up by zones. So you can walk amongst a small prairie, open fields, flat woodland areas, hilly woodland areas, and small ponds and lakes. There isn't a large abundance of wildlife but if you're patient and ready to search, you can come across deer, coyote, hawks, woodpeckers, ducks, geese, and owls around dusk. We saw a great horned owl pair in our way back to the thornhill parking lot. The visitor center area is easily handicap accessible while other areas are more rugged though there are roads throughout the arboretum so at least you're not stuck to the visitor center. Plus there events held here periodically and currently you can hunt for large, wooden troll sculptures scattered throughout.

I went several times with a friend who had a year long pass. It is fun to drive, bicycle, or walk around. It has quiet serenity. There are two restaurants at least. I liked the humongous cafe. Buy a drink, bring your lunch and watch the outdoors! There are fun activities for the children. The gift shop has some really cool stuff for everyone. Come and enjoy!

We were here for the IllumiBrew event. It was nice but the beer lines were very long (50+ people) at every tent. Either too many people or not enough beer tents.
The tree lights were awe-some!

It fully deserves that 4.8 rating. An awesome mix of special events and nature that would only alienate people who can't stand being in natural settings in the first place. Open all 12 months except for major holidays, IIRC.

I went for the trees and nature, came back for the running trails. Also, there are a ton of concerts, events, and educational classes here. Beautiful setting. Good food in the Cafe for reasonable prices. I'd recommend getting a membership if you live close by, because otherwise the entrance fees can add up and get steep.

Spent three hours just wandering. It was a nice date! I got a two year membership and so far it was totally worth it. I can't wait to see the Christmas light extravaganza they have every year!

What could be better than wandering through nature to visit our old friends the "Trolls"! On a balmy December day to boot. Never get tired of sharing this place with friends and family from near and far. They always are happy with their experience here. Rhe cafe is another positive for the Arboretum. Nice variety of options.

Waste of time and money. Light show was scrap and couldn't even hold the attention of a 10 or 12 year old. As for pricing.... that was waayyy too high and again, it was a waste of money for sure. Never going back if it's my choice.

A beautiful place to be.

A beautiful place to be.
The Morton Arboretum is hands down one of my favorite places to be. There are lots of trails, gardens, events, playgrounds and a great collection of plants to look at. My most previous visit was in December 2018 during their "Illuminations" event in which they light up the trees with different colors, have interactive displays, and music. They also have fire pits and concession stands to warm you up as well as get a bite to eat, get something to drink, or to buy souvenirs (I purchased some light-up gloves and they are awesome). It was like walking in a dream! Price (On a normal day) is pretty reasonable given the size of the place, location and their mission to study and protect plant species. Admission is $15 per adult (ages 18-64), $13 per senior (65+), $10 per child (ages 2-17) and Free for children under 2. The price is discounted by a few dollars on Wednesdays, and the parking is free with admission. Also the food at the Ginkgo Restaurant and Cafe is delicious, and decently priced as well as the gift shop which has lots of great merchandise and books. Overall, this place is beautiful, family-friendly, environmentally friendly, and great all year round!

The whole arboretum is beautiful. Something for everyone of all ages. Lake Marmo on the westside is Beautiful especially in fall. Daffodil area is spectacular in spring. The gardens are pretty in summer. Loads of fun for the kids on the play area's.

My favorite place to walk around with family! The children's garden is awesome and they have long, awesome trails. To top it off, they're newly redesigned cafeteria has amazing, tasty food!! From ahi tuna salad to cauliflower burgers, it has something for everyone!

Separate section for the kids. Can take a couple of hours to see everything in that section. Good place for leisurely walking around among nature's finest. The rest of the Arboretum is more of a driving tour although there are walking/biking paths.

This place is very large. There are several parking lots so understanding the layout of the place is helpful.

There are several events throughout the year which range from dog day events, cider fest, and cultural events. My family has the membership so parking is free, but events need to be paid for.

It's a nice place to take pictures and hangout. There is a visitors center that has a cafe with food and drinks, along with restrooms and places to sit. When it's warm enough, there is also outdoor seating.

Overall if you intend to go to the events throughout the year, a membership isn't a bad idea. However, if you're looking forward to only one event, it's a cool place to check out.

Ok
