Light snow made Illuminations extra special for our three grandchildren visiting from Mississippi.
Light snow made Illuminations extra special for our three grandchildren visiting from Mississippi.
Botanical museum, with plants from around the world.
The Troll Hunt was fun, the Nephew loved it. And I like that they have parking spots and can use a car to get to most of the trolls. Will do again walking when weather is more appropriate.
Go anytime of year, especially near Christmas time for an incredible display! Magical lighting!
It was beautiful and clean as ever and the event was well planned. Too bad it was so crazy hot!
A beautiful place with an amazing playground for kids.
Great spot for a wedding. The food is pricey and only ok.
One of our favorites! Get the membership! Beautiful grounds. You will find yourself returning many times!
Absolutely beautiful! The Troll Hunt was great. Long trail, but worth it.
Fantastic scenery and very friendly staff. I highly recommend attending the Morton Arboretum craft beer festival!
Great place for the whole family. The children's garden is great for kids off all ages. Bring a lunch and have a picnic.
This is my weekend place to be when i feel overwhelmed and tired, i love to be there always
In nice weather this is the best place to visit if you are an outdoor type
Perfect place for adults, kids, families - truly something for everyone and in every season. Note that pets are not allowed (expect on special dog days - dates are on the website). One of our favorite places!
Love the Morton Arboretum! It is an amazing park known for its conservatory efforts. Beautiful outdoor area. Bike and walking paths. Parking is free with a membership. Of you plan to visit more than once get the membership. There is always something happening here on the weekends. Great place if you love the outdoors. Also great for kids!
Went for the Illumination event. Absolutely awesome. Can't wait to get back during the day and check everything out!
Beautiful flowers, children's play area, has food court and eat options
Great place to visit. Great place to run and bike. Check the pricing before you go if you are not a member. Great friendly staff.
Love tree light fest and breathing trees the best!
What's not to love about an arboretum! I just spent my birthday here enjoying the picturesque views.
The only thing I would say needs improving was the admission procedure. Once you come to the ticket sale booth you are told you need to purchase online. Then you are sent to double park, register on your phone, get a QR code sent to your email, circle back around and then get scanned.
Oh well, once you're in, it's worth it. Just get your ticket online ahead of time :)
This was a family trip to the arboretum during the Christmas holidays. The light show was like nothing I have ever experienced before. Such a creative display! The trees actually appeared as though they were walking, running and breathing. It's a great way to spend some outdoor time with the entire family.
Love this place, bought a membership last year and it was totally worth it. It's awesome to have a place to go to when you want to just get out and be in nature.
Went for the wine and chocolate event parking was good even tho was snowing only one wine booth selling very expensive kitch wines that were meh, several of the chocolate booths were selling really good handmade candies
There were so many unusual plants to enjoy and a comfortable building to stop and get refreshments.
A great place for a short walk or a pretty good hike. Their cafeteria style cafe is pretty good.
Such a beautiful place, love how they have so many trees and no bugs. Well taken care of!!!
Beautiful place in the midst of a fairly populated area. Even in early April, plants were blooming and there was a lot to see.
Very quiet and isolated. Lots of trails to walk and many great views.
Children's Garden is awesome. Trolls are a nice touch this year. Wish we lived closer so we could easily spend more time here.
This is one if the absolute best places for a family ro go. Fun and educarional. Something for all ages and an amazing g gift shop!!
Love going here! It's so peaceful and beautiful! The maze and children's garden are lots of fun for the kids too (also fun for adults)
I really enjoy this place. Wonderful way to spend a few hours walking through some varied terrain.
Great place! But what's up with the toilet facilities? If you expect crowds either you built more or at least have port-a-potties. Yeah I understand that nature is the big star of the show, but we have to accommodate our guests
I never get tired of going here. It's so beautiful no matter what season.
The Morton Arboretum is awesome to visit during fall The colors and the tree selection/diversity are the best in the area. Best place for outdoor activities. You can bring your adorable dogs on dog day. Best place for photography too
Largest by far ive been too. Very beautiful and kids loved it. Can spend cpl hours or entire day. They have a troll hunt this yr too. They look pretty cool
Trolls. That exhibit is fun for the whole family. We didn't have children with us and we still enjoyed it.
Nice place to visit, Great Trolls exhibit. Non reciprocal with other Museums within 90 miles.
A beautiful oasis in suburban Chicagoland. The property is large and well-worth a visit. The calendar of events mean that there is usually something happening to enjoy.
Watch out for the TROLLS!!!!! This place is awesome.
1700 acres of trees, flowers, walking trails, amazing Lego creations.
The very essence of a breath of fresh air ! I love this Park .My mother used to teach classes hear . A must see experience to feal .
My third year , always a good time, even if it was raining
Lots of nice walking trails, some paved but mostly woodchips. Good way to spend a few hours.
The illumination was so pretty. Well worth getting tickets ahead
The entire family loved the trolls! They were an amazing sight to see!
Great for families and even if you don t have kids!
We came here for a dog day event. Lots of fun and activities for dogs. Will be back again.
Great place for biking, hiking, children's garden, library, and events !!
You can't beat hiking, biking or just exploring around the Morton Arboretum. Great way to take in nature and relax while doing it. All the staff are super friendly and ready to answer any questions you need answering!
Beautiful every time! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the grounds are always maintained.
Mother nature! Came to see the light show. Got a blazing ice storm and torrential downpour instead. Why can't you guys get a handle on controlling the weather?
Had a nice night walking and looking at the Illumination lights.
YOU HAVE TO SEE THE TROLLS!! What a fantastic exhibit. Make sure you're wearing comfy walking shoes it's about 5 miles of walking and that's even with driving to each troll. Pack up the camera and the kids and head out for a fun day in the most beautiful natural setting anywhere around.
Gorgeous for the holidays. Unusually warm weather for a Chicago winter, but pretty cool to see.
Beautiful scenery with nice walking paths. Entrance is to pricey.
Absolutely excellent! The staff, presentations, and exhibits are amazing!
I went to the new member presentation today coordinated by Karin Jaros about the living collections with their curator. It was an extremely informative and interesting presentation with Q&A afterwards.
We were also able to walk the grounds after. The curator Matt Lobdell said You have to find the Japanese Umbrella tree and feel the pine needles, it s like something you ve never felt before. So of course, my friend and I had to scour the Asia collection. We ended up going through the hiking trials (on accident, we are not the hiking type) but saw many interesting trees! We didn t find the Umbrella Tree so we went back to the visitor center to get help.
The staff, in particular Liz McCleary, was very helpful and located the tree for us and wrote on our map where to go. We were able to find it with her help (and the journey was definitely fun!) and feel the needles. Thank you to Karin, Liz, Matt, and the rest of the amazing Morton team! I can t wait to go back!
This is a very large arboretum, perfect for an afternoon of hiking and biking, or a family visit to the children's area. It can get crowded, but they handle crowds very well and the parking is very organized. The children's area is very adventurous and perfect for little kids. The food is also very delicious, and not too overpriced. The hiking and biking trails out in the woods are very well-kept and fun. Some highlights for me are the expansive hedge maze with a lookout tower encompassing a tree, and the wading pond where you can catch tadpoles and water-bugs. This arboretum is a long drive from Chicago, but the trek is definitely worth it.
Wonderful hike. Awesome features and creatures. Cheap to get in. Would suggest to anyone for a family day, adventurous date, or nice to even fly solo and enjoy some nature.
It is a gorgeous place to visit! Found out of you have a link card with your I'd you can get in for one dollar a person! Pretty flowers and activities for the kids we will definitely go back for another picnic.
Great place to visit with family. Illuminations holiday light program is wonderful.
