Love this place! It's so beautiful. I could spend days walking through all the trails and gardens, not to mention months in the library and in the reading garden. Unique place. I'm going back every chance I get. And if you have kids, there is so much to see and do f with them here. It made me feel like a big kid myself.

There are many other places that match the majesty of the Morton Arboretum and are free. If you want to drop $15 a head to look at manicured trees be my guest and don't forget your stroller for the kids who will get pretty cranky walking all the trails. The Botanic Garden is a better value for your money and if you park outside the place you can walk or bike in for free. Not so at MA.

This place offers year round entertainment! The Illumination during December is Amazing. Order your tickets at least a week before to get the time window you want. They sell hot chocolate and liquor, and even have fire pits to roast the marshmallows they sell with their 'smores kit' (roasting stick is included). Makes for a magical evening!

This is a great place to come and walk the paths, ride your bike, or go for a dive around and just be with nature. This is a great place for people of all ages and walks of life, and they have a great kids area too. The staff is knowledgeable, especially if you have questions about trees and shrubs and such. Events can be hosted here both public and privet, and they also put on different events and exhibits. In winter they have been putting on a show of lights called Illumination which in my opinion is a can't miss for sure!

I love the Morton Arboretum because they always have some kind of event year round! I highly recommend going to the illumination around the holidays! I recommend jusy about every event they have! Everything is wonderful and beautiful. It is very educational! If it is your first time going then I highly recommend getting on the tram ride and learning about the history of the living museum!!

Absolutely beautiful! We went to see the trolls that are put up throughout the arboretum and my kids (boys ranging from 10-3) and a great time finding the trolls and climbing all over them. My only recommendation is to bring bug spray! The mosquitos were horrible in some areas

Really beautiful place, full of lush, interesting plants. This is the perfect place for someone who is into botany, or to even bring their kids here. It's a fun way to learn about nature. It's a good place to take them, so they don't spend 100% of the time on their tablet or phone. Beautiful place, morning or night. My favorite time is in the evening, though, because of the lights on the trees.

Very good lunch choices. Unending number of interesting trees, many labeled. Beautiful vistas. Clean and safe. Good for long or short walks. They have reciprocity with the Botanic Garden.

The Morton Arboretum is beautiful, but customer service was very bad, when we went there with my sister, and collectively our three children 0-3 yo.
When we first arrived and went to the dining area, a woman taking our orders was very unpleasant and short with us, and made us feel unwelcome.
Later on, nearing closing time, a lady who looked like a manager (short, blond hair, with glasses, around 50 yo) was very rude to us at the cash register, when we were buying ice cream.
Please work with your team, to provide a more welcoming atmosphere at the Morton Arboretum.

It's an ok place, but I don't understand why the admission is so high. $14 to look at trees is more than I'd like to spend, particularly as local conservatoires are either free or much cheaper

ILLUMINATIONS REVIEW: Had a good time at the annual Illuminations event. The trees are really something to behold. Dress very warm, because it's a one mile walk around the Arboretum, and an almost equally long walk from the parking lot to the entrance.

You'll want to wear good boots too, because although the paths are shoveled, you'll find yourself meandering onto the 'off path' area to get closer to some of the displays. There are about a dozen stops with trees decorated in different ways, and the vast majority involve cleverly places moving lights to highlight the trees which really give a sense of magic. Some displays have music that interacts with the tree lights too, which gives an added element of 'magic' to the show. You can buy hot chocolate or a snack at a few stops along the trail, and at the very end there's a full service bar, and plenty of tables lined up, complete with a band playing family friendly music. The gift store has a huge assortment of tree related Christmas things (ornaments/vases/etc...).

This event sells out, so get your tickets early. This is good to know, because if it's overly crowded, it's not the same experience. Please take your time and enjoy the event. People of all ages come to see this unique site once a year.

Love it

The arboretum is a treasure and if you haven't been yet, you should visit soon. If you dont go for one of the numerous events, the chance to enjoy nature is enough of a reason to make the trip. Throughout the year they hold fairs, festivals and programs that are both educational and entertaining.

It's a beautiful place. All different types of trees and flora from all over the world. It's crowded as heck on weekend and expect to wait in a line of cars... but you can still find a place to be alone for a second. Amazing place for events.

The representatives are extremely kind and helpful and actually know the answers as far as where things are located. We went to the tails on the trails event and stayed about 3 hours.

We've been before in the fall when they had the scarecrow competition. This time they had a Lego exhibit which was unexpected and actually really enticing. In addition to all the different pups there.. it was pretty awesome. (Dogs are not normally allowed)

Great place to take small children for a few hours of active fun. Be prepared for them to play in the water. If you are there for the trees, you will also be very happy with your visit. Try roaming the outlying areas of the arboretum. Or go early in the morning for some quiet exercise.

Fantastic time. Troll Hunt is extremely cool to see and experience. Pictures are one thing, but actually being there and physically experiencing how large these Trolls are is amazing. It's no wonder that they have broken attendance records. We have always loved Morton Arboretum and they did a great job with this! Well designed. Well executed.

The Arboretum is a great place to get out and enjoy nature. The children's garden provides hours of fun for the kids. The roads are great for biking and there are many trails to explore. We've been members for years and enjoy seeing the change of seasons.
