Illumination was wonderful little expensive but pretty
I havent been here in many years. I was delighted to experience all the wonderful developments over the years. Beautiful gardens and groves and outdoor art. We truly enjoyed our time there.
I love this place!! To bad they charge 10.00 a head instead of by the car.
Very large. prepare for walking. Beautiful assortment.
Always phenomenal! Have been members on and off since 2002. The only complaint we have is that their few entry windows get so so busy on good weather weekends that it takes over an hour and a half to enter from the long lines from Route 53 from either side. They could adapt an electronic pass on cars for members only lane. With my Wife's work we can only go there in the weekends so this long wait thing is a big issue for us.
A great place for everybody from child to senior. Walk the paths and enjoy nature, browse the visitors' center and let the kids run the Children's garden.
Very well laid out area with varied design. The park for children invites with sound flowers, frog fountain, climbing area, water creek, etc. to experience with all your senses. Also for breaks, possibilities are meaningfully integrated. Impressive are also the figures designed with Lego bricks, which can be discovered again and again during a walk through the grounds.
An awesome place to explore by car, bike or on foot any season of the year. A nice break from all the people and congestion.
The trees were beautiful and the music to the lights was awesome. I love the drinks. The people that work there were very nice and helpful.
Awesome place for everyone! Take your hiking shoes because there are endless walking trails. Children's Garden is a great place for kids, there are different stations with many activities, kids played there for hours.
Nice restaurant with great food overlooking a pond. Beautiful well kept outdoors, beautiful trees. We took the Acorn Express tour, learn about history of this place, their research and trees - I recommend the tour to learn and view parts of the park. Lastly, stopped by Plant Clinic with questions about our tree. They were helpful and kind! Thank you! We will be back!
Went for the Illumination event. Great time and awesome lights!!
This Arboretum is amazing. There are so many paths and trails to walk on and a lot of trees and plant life to enjoy and admire. There are often events at Arboretum for all ages. There is a kids play and learning area which is great for kids of all ages also. The main visitor center is amazing with great staff and the food in the cafe is reasonably priced with great quality as you eat your food while looking out over the lake to the east. Beautiful place and I'll be coming back more often.
We went there just after an Asian Festival ended. The crowd had dissipated. We wandered around and enjoyed very much the space and the walk.
Christmas lights were awesome kids would love it just make sure they are bundle up it will get cold
Pretty great. We love coming with our bikes at 700 on weekends before all the cars come. Highway noise is a bummer and it's too expensive but it's a quality experience overall.
Had to wait in line to get in. Signage from the parking lot could be better. Has become very commercialized since I was there last.
Besides the winters, the worst thing about living in Chicago is how far you have to travel to be somewhere that is remote and beautiful. The Morton Arboretum can give you that feeling but you only have to drive to Lisle. My favorite thing to do is every fall when the leaves start changing, take a day off of work and get there first thing in the morning to hike through the woods. You essentially have them entirely to yourself for a few hours and get that sense urban life is far behind you.
This place is expensive (if I remember correctly $9 per person) but worth it!
It's beautiful and huge!
very nice but you have to get tickets online many people
We went to a wedding here and it was absolutely gorgeous. The event staff executed the event beautifully, everything ran smoothly, and the food was quite delicious. All of this against the idyllic backdrop of the arboretum made this easily one of the best weddings I've attended. Kudos to the event staff at the Arboretum.
Need way more bathrooms. Maybe offer horseback riding.
The Christmas lights show was beautiful. It was too dark to capture anything as such by camera but I would anyway suggest to just enjoy the moment next time it happens.
Just amazing. The trolls have been a beautiful fanciful addition.
It's beautiful and peaceful. There's always something going on like a chocolate festival, guided hikes, or lectures. The membership is worth it even if you only plan to go a few times per year. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because you can't run on the trails. You can only run on paved roads.
The trolls are very neat! They were much bigger than I expected and were very detailed. They are natural looking and fit nicely with the surrounding areas, almost like they belong! Definitely worth a trip to check them out.
This was my first visit... and despite the need for masks and social distancing... it was a beautiful, most enjoyable place to be for the day. In fact, the park seemed to be doing an excellent job of helping maintain safety and it definitely helps that there's so much space to roam. I will definitely be going again!
Educational and beautiful. The arboretum has incredible foliage and the signs are genuinely educational!
Very nice, clean and beautiful. Long lines for ok and pricey food though.
We really enjoy the kids area. It makes for a nice get out of the city adventure with the entire family.
Plenty to do at the Morton Arboretum. Well worth an annual membership to support such a wonderful place.
Great place! Best nature preserve in the area. Big crowds in October.
I went to the Arboretum with my sister and family. Its not great for really young kids. But we like the movie they played. It felt like you were flying through space.
I always enjoy visiting here. The scenery is beautiful to look at. They always have things to see and do with kids. We enjoy bringing the grandkids here for the Xmas holiday. The lights are so beautiful.
The childrens area is very interactive for all age groups. The scenery is beautiful for the adults as well. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Beautiful! I went for a guided nature therapy walk which was very well done. Then I strolled around for a while after. It was my first time doing any nature stuff in this big of a town but the city noise was barely noticeable so that was nice.
Charming & woodsy, highly recommended for a relaxing afternoon
Always a great experience especially for the little ones who like to run. The kid zone always entertains the kids and the occasional art and craft stations, always a blast. :D
So many trails and information about the plant life. Most high touch areas were closed but they still made things interesting.
There is not much to say about this place. I'm a member, I love it. Go and see it if you are a true nature person. Very relaxing environment..
An unexpected discovery in the western suburbs of Chicago. The Children s Area is the best nature discovery area I ve ever seen. If you have children or grandkids between 3 and 10, you must explore this place.
First time here last week and cant believe I did not visit sooner. Fantastic outdoor trails. Loved it.
Wonderfully refreshing if you're stressed. Lots of greenery, neat plants, flowers, tress. Lots of ponds and lakes. Ginko Cafe is a Great restaurant
What a beautiful place to share in getting outdoors in nature no matter your age. Our family loves it here!
Although it rained on us, we absolutely loved this experience. This was our first time going to the Morton Arboretum to see the Christmas Lights and it will not be out last. The lights are awesome, there are camp fires along the trail to warm up and a couple of concession stands to get snack and hot chocolate along the trail. The staff is unbelievably nice and the grounds are. Beautiful. There is a cafe style restaurant on the property and the food was surprisingly good. Despite the rain, we had a wonderful time.
I love when they have the dog days. Wish it was more often so I could hike with the dog. I feel guilty going there and walking the trails without him.
Great walking trails and fun events throughout the year! They have two 5ks each year too.
Sure it would have been great never got there so can't really leave a review. Love trolls thought it would be great but we were on vacay & never got the time.
So much to do....the family night on Thursday entertained my 6 and 9 year old granddaughters and myself... crafts..bubbles..chalk..music...and more....I have a membership...it is worth every penny!
Lovely place, but too much growth is missing the initial meaning and intent of the place. Too much focus on money, potentially alienating people that cannot afford it.
Illumination-Not your average holiday light show. Friendly helpful staff. Well organized.
I truly love this place it's beautiful, went for the Troll Hunt it's a artist installation. Walked and hiked quite a ways had a great time with my daughter.
Went to the Tree Lights in the winter. It was underwhelming for several reasons. The photos online looks brilliant and you can reproduce the experience on a perfect night if desired. That is probably the biggest draw for this. Otherwise it is limited by the large number of people attending, poor lights-to-music synchrony, and the staff. There are at least 3 active fires going that you can warm up with, but given the activity around them and the lack of staff actively providing smores supplies it is more of a tease than anything. Most staff look like high school students who are not excited to reach out and direct the many patrons wandering about. The whole experience also depends largely on the amount of snow that has accumulated on the trees, which is variablle.
Love it. Sunsets on Frost Hill over Meadow Lake. Watch the grounds transform through the year. Bike rentals, fun events, it's well worth the membership.
Been there all seasons and there's always something fun to do!
Always love the Arboretum everyone is nice and always beautiful sites
Rather expensive (admission and food) but the kids had a blast while the adults got to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Unlike Chicago Botanical Garden, they charge fees per person and even for kids under 5. We won t go back there again, it s not for family with kids.
BEAUTIFUL. Always decorated for the seasons. We love the kids garden.
It's just a beautiful place to visit. The luminary show is just great.
3rd annual Farm to Table dinner night, 4 courses plus dessert, beautiful tent and music. Food was amazing! Very enjoyable evening.
From the highway expect AT LEAST a full hour wait in nearly stopped traffic to get in. You will have 3 large highways all converging in a single tiny bridge leading to only 3 toll booths (if all are staffed) and normal slow making change. My wait time for last mile from highway was 1 hour 30 minutes during a sunday afternoon at fall leaves time. Being snacks! Use bathroom before!
Beautiful area. Well maintained. Good for kids because of the huge playground area. Went troll hunting which the kids absolutely loved.
Nothing to add to the 5 star reviews. This place is a nature treasure. Our kids (10, 6 y.o.) enjoy children garden very much.
A stunningly beautiful place in the midst of suburbia
Lovely pathways, very well maintained and manicured. Easy parking and access. Good spot for date or family day.
