We enjoy attending events at the Arboretum. My grandchildren enjoyed the dogsled pulls and the train show events. Ws will be visiting the trolls again before they leave in June.

The holiday illuminations show was superb. On a Disney type scale, one of the best outdoor holiday lighting shows I have seen. Highly recommended. There are several interactive lighting displays. Dress warm !!
Kids love the trolls exhibit. Can't wait to see what they do next
Beautiful place worth visiting multiple times, any time of the year. Trolls are awesome!
Pretty during spring but in the summer the place doesn't look any different from a regular forest preserve. I'm sure the arboretum is gorgeous in the fall and winter though. The place is also expensive so I wouldn't go during the summer as it looks like any forest preserve in the area to save your money.
Illumination is an absolute must for the holiday season
CARGIVERS or people who help the DISABLED get FREE ADMISSION!!!
My grandmothers caregiver got a free admission.
A delightful place for anyone who enjoys the complexities of shots and science or nature. It suits anyone who wants to enjoy a tranquil day in the very professionally laid out grounds. 6 Stars!
Went to the illumination event so this review reflects that event. However, the arboretum itself is very nice and definitely worth a visit at least once.
Personally, for around $43 (2 adults) this was kind of a let down. In my opinion most of the free light show events in the area (Lincoln Park Zoo, for example) outshine this overpriced walk of bland, random strings of light and attempts at musical syncopy (some of witch seemed to clash as you could hear Trans-Siberian Orchestra from one and Christmas Carols from another).
I really hoped for better from the place that does trees.
On the bright side they had plenty of fire pits to warm your hands and it seemed quite eco-friendly (i.e. not a lot of lights)
Fall colors and a troll hunt equals beauty, fun and quite a bit of enjoyable walking.
Received info in the mail for yearly membership to the Morton Arboretum and would love to join. I am a gardener. Love flowers and trees. Was told my 4 pound dog is not allowed in even if it's in your car only to drive thru. Pets are family. I truly understand they should not walk on the grounds. I agree. But what's wrong in a car ? Pets are allowed 5 times a year only. Should be changed to twice a month.
Can't begin to describe how beautiful this place is! The arboretum is a gem! They have wonderful activities year round and with great learning opportunities. It's a lovely place to viait!
Great for kids and adults. The children's garden has a lot of different areas for kids to explore and interact with. If you have time to walk around, the trolls are a great addition.
If you walking in nature the service s the place for you
Beautiful grounds, lovely area for pictures, walks, running, and biking
Troll hunt was very fun. Did it with the family and drove around the entire property. I'm definitely going back to explore the walking trails.
Our first visit here. Amazingly wonderful! What care of the 1700 acres!! We learned so much on the tram ride. We want to come again next time we visit this area! I would give it more than 5 if I could!!
Came to view Illuminations light show. While still a very enjoyable experience I felt it was not up to par with last years show. Some areas were packed with things to see but other areas where displays were located last year were totally vacant. Hope for improvement next year.
Always a great experience... Especially with the troll sculptures.
The Illumination light show every year is beautiful and a fun winter holiday activity
What great way to enjoy nature at it's best and go troll hunting. See if you can find all six.
This place is awesome!! Wish I lived closer, the Christmas lights were beautiful!! Would definitely recommend this place
The light show was the best I ever seen. We will be back next year, and every year there after! Make an effort to go.
I expected boring, I got spectacular. Awe-striking light show for the holiday season. Fun for all ages, with hypnotic-like exhibits with a mesmerizing affect. My picture doesn't do it justice, but it's the only one I took while there because I was too busy looking around with my mouth open walking through the rest of the show
You can't exactly get lost here in nature but you certainly can hike or stroll for hours and hours and not visit the whole location. The arboretum also does a good job of coming up with new things to keep the kids interested in repeat visits. I haven't tried the biking trails yet and will be doing one of their paid activities later this year so more to see. A little on the pricey side but maintaining this large of an area which is more like a very large tree garden rather than raw nature doesn't come cheap.
Great visit to the Trolls again. Easy in. Very helpful staff. New Lego exhibit.
Trolls are awesome. Huge place...bring comfortable walking shoes. Sometimes easy to get lost while following troll map, though there is some signage to help. Lots of young families brought picnic lunch and sat in the groves of trees. 6-7 miles to walk the loop. Can drive around or get tickets for the troll tram (call ahead).
We went on a nice Sunday. Though there was a crowd, we were able to find parking easily and walk to the visitor center within a few minutes.
We had a lot of fun walking to the trolls. Be prepared for the hike though if you have little ones. The trolls can take up to 20 minutes at a healthy pace between sightings. With a stroller and some snacks for mom and baby we did just fine.
Though you'll be covered in lovely trees much of the time, bring sunblock for sunny days as there are some longer stretches of open sky through prairies and along ponds.
Even if you're not a kid, you should check out the children's area. There are a lot of hidden things and small, charming details.
Illumination was inspiring. Perfect winter putting for our family.
We took are engagement photos here. This place is beautiful.
I understand it is a WONDERFUL place to visit. It is on my list to do so. Drive by all the time on way to and from city.
Amazing place! Start the kids young and keep them off the videogames.
We got a membership here years ago because the children's garden is such a awesome place to bring young children. We've kept it up even as our children have aged out of that because the Arboretum is such a fantastic place to keep even children engaged with nature. The foot trails and biking on the road are great, and the new troll hunt gives kids a fun goal.
Beautiful! Beautiful place! And the trolls are really groovy and clever!
We went for the Illumination lights and it's so beautiful! The staff was very helpful with a few questions I had. Its handicap accessible which I was very excited about. I highly recommend everyone gets tickets for 2020. It's absolutely incredible
Went for a wine tasting/walk. Lovely spring evening, wine was quite good too.
This is one of the best parks in the Chicago Land area. I love how each season you can go here and see different colors all the time. It is nice because you can drive around the park without getting out of your car.
Really beautiful at the right times but needs more activities for times when flowers are out of season
Just a beautiful place with a fascinating selection of trees
Beautifully landscaped and tastefully decorated, the Arboretum is a near perfect destination for any time of year. But be prepared for some long walks.
Beautiful all year round. Great place for kids to enjoy nature
Really well kept property with both paths to drive and walk on
So pretty. Great programming and events for all ages. The theatre hikes are awesome.
We came in March before anything had bloomed, however it was still a lovely walk as it was sunny and mid-50's. We walked the Heritage and Woodland Trails on the East Side. We are members so we look forward to returning often and seeing the growth as seasons change. I look forward to visiting once the Troll exhibit has been installed also.
The 9 mile tram tour was very informative. Go on Wednesday when it's only $9 entry. Adult and kids hedge maze was incredible.
This is a beautiful oasis about 45 minutes outside of the city. There are a ton of events for both adults and kids throughout the year that provide a new and unique opportunity for each visit. There is also plenty of space to simply wander and get lost in nature when you need to escape. It's a great place to bring young children to run out all of their energy, but be prepared to walk. If you have children under 4-5, consider driving around the park versus the walking paths. Last note: if you haven't seen the troll hunt exhibit, it's a must!
I went there mainly for the troll hunting I was very impressed with the place took the trolley around saw the whole park very nice place to take the family and enjoy the day
Great day at Morton Grove Arboretum today. Saw different trees and the trolls.
Breathtaking walks. Enjoyed many functions.. love love the flowers spring, summer and fall all the colors and lights in winter..
The best gift we've been receiving from our daughter for 5 or 6 yrs. We have 5 grandchildren they love to go there picnicking, maze, children's area we enjoy all of the children's area as much as they do..
Massive, gorgeous, and educational. The hiking trails are largely separated from the paved roads so as not to intrude with road noise or the sight of cars. I could easily spend the whole day here
Origami display was fantastic! Loved the squirrel, Rock Paper Scissors, horses, bison and crane displays. Also enjoyed the conifer path...very informative.
Beautiful landscape and great to treating children how to help the earth, I would recommend some bug spray though.
This arboretum is quite spectacular. Plenty to do and see and enjoy especially if you aren't someone who has to be entertained by a piece of technology.
Very easy to get here and as a member of The Chicago Botanic Gardens I can get in here free. Well worth buying a membership because it reduces the cost drastically.
I go cycling on the east side and do quite a few laps. Some "hills" so it's great exercise whilst enjoying the majesty of the trees and the beauty of the flora and fauna.
Great place for a picnic and to enjoy nature. Beautiful place to visit.
Great place to learn all about plants and trees. Peaceful. Great trails to walk on.
Beautiful, well planned space. Can't wait to go again
Beautiful park, great hedge maze with a look out in the middle.
This is a great place to walk around and enjoy nice weather. Our family loves it here.
