If you love the outdoors and plants, this is the place for you.
They have a massive collection of the world's plants and a huge plot of land full of fun places to explore.
There are usually some awesome events going on at all different times of the year.
Good for all ages.

A friend recommended I visit this place for the trolls after hearing about my daughters recent obsession with giants. We were not disappointed! This place is massive, we were here for several hours and did not cover everything. The children's garden alone took us several hours to go through. We loved it all! The natural playground was awesome! The kids loved it all, too. We had a lot of fun walking around and seeing the lego exhibits and going on a troll hunt. We live in a neighboring state and it was well worth the 2.5 hour drive.

A true gem. This place has evolved some I came to look at the trees back in high school. This is a full fledged nature center with information and exhibits for all ages, not to mention the wonderful greenery and walking paths. You went even know you're in suburbia. A bit on the pricey side though.

For families with kids, the playground is probably the best attraction. We enjoy it immensely. Overall it is very nice place to take a stroll in the forest and the ginko cafe is very good.

An escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life. The arboretum is beautiful in every season. Plan on spending the day here, there's lots to see. There's a cafe for lunch. It's worth the price of admission. Get a membership if you live in the Chicagoland area and visit anytime.

Have been trying to renew my membership on line for three weeks. Sent messages to the coordinator, website master and anyone else that would listen. I would think a 501C3 entity would have a better system to take donations.

It's a good place for trees lovers, but they don't have many blooming trees and flowers. Nice and big place for walk and jogging, but I like Botanic Garden more. But if you live in he Western suburbs, Botanic Garden is far.

Surprised by live music in visitors center! Troll exhibit by Danish artist was fun, intriguing, and time well spent. Great message behind the work. Children's garden and water was amazing. Played for hours.

Beautiful and well kept. Very friendly staff. Lovely visit. Did the tree light walk. Was cold out, but warming stations that sold hot drinks and fires through out the walk was really nice.

Probably the most beautiful place in illinois. You could easily spend days exploring this place and getting acquainted with the beauty of nature that is quickly fading in this state. Staff are always knowledgeable without being overly visible to distract from the main attraction, which is the beautiful landscape.

Saw the Christmas lights which were ok. The hugging trees were great. Surprise gift for children who spotted the "glowman" were light up bracelets which did not work. When we asked for ones that did, the folks behind the counter were very rude and said no.

I love this place. Year round events and beautiful paths to follow. Come here for an hour or stay all day, you can't go wrong. Currently the origami exhibit is there and it's unbelievable.

Be prepared to walk, bike or run. Very quiet grounds. Expensive if you are just visiting the Childrens area. (Childrens area fantastic, closes early, has a very cool maze). Research if you are going for a particular reason (i.e. to see flowers blooming) because its nature certain items blppm at certain times.
