Historic museum I ve been wanting to visit for 10 years
An excellent museum for any age. There is a great mixture of paintings, sculptures, and artifacts. So many things to see a multiple day visit is a must. The food is New York pricey but enjoyable. What seemed like a HUGE number of people were well dispersed so the crowding was not what we expected.
I got a great tour of the place by a friend of mine who works here. They had a great display and movie on the Crusades that was phenomenal. I highly recommend making the trip over to see the display while it is still available.
It looked just as it did in the movies. Truly amazing. And the art was good too ;)
If You epect to see the classics You will find them there. Not a lot of the new stuff and crouded all the time
The cloakroom attendants were incredibly rude and whistled at me to get my attention. Spoiled my experience.
I myself don't know much about art, but wow l, going there gave me so much more insight into the world of art. It is a beautiful and clean museum with so many different types of art. Have kids? No problem, there are fun activities for them to do. The overall place is incredible and if you are visiting NYC as a tourist, this is a stop that SHOULD DEFINITELY be on your to do list.
There is surely no better collection of modern art in the world. A showstopper in every room.
Hours of things to see, you get lost and always find something new that catches your eye
The art is fantastic but after paying $25 to get in should really have to pay $4 for a 225ml can of coke?
Cool but also disappointing. The Museum itself is not beautiful as I was expecting to be honestly. Needless to say that the place is fully packed all time so it s very difficult to relax and enjoy art. Anyway, this is a must visit when in NYC. Some pieces of arts are just great.
An Amazing museum, inspiring works. Might be boring to people that modern art isn't there cup of tea
This museum has some of the prettiest artwork. Even better than a glob of butter melting on a stack of buttermilk pancakes made by my God loving granny. Bless her soul she never had a chance to see some of the great work displayed here. Good thing they have escalators so my bad knee can take a restin.
Both mine and my wife's favorite pieces of artwork are there, so we were thrilled! And Free Friday!
Love MoMa! So special to be able to see world famous pieces in person. Might ve shed a tear or two when I saw some of the more famous works.
The museum itself is quite interesting as well. Well maintained.
Because I'm a NYC Glazier and other trades and General contractors built this place in and out From day one.
This is really great! Now I know how to save my money. After 16:00 - admission is free
5th floor is the reason why they charge on your entrance. Too crowded but worth to visit.
Visit this place on Friday evenings when the entry is free, the biggest attraction here is ,'Starry Nights'
On my way to an event & I ran in to see what the free MOMA exhibition was and I was not disappointed. The Mombasa painter & Modern Energy art exhibit didn't disappoint. In 25 min I was on my way to my event. What a creative use of 25 min in NY.
Refreshing, diverse and unique, best experience ever, love the architectural layout ,design and concept.
A five-star museum full of three-star visitors... The collection is wonderful, the floor plan is good, but there are too many visitors who seem to be there only because they "heard it was a museum they should see"... I think it's great when people who aren't necessarily into art visit great museums like this, but it's congested to the point of disarray. If you are able to be flexible with your schedule, I would recommend calling ahead to find when the least popular times to go are.
Many different kinds of art to see. Definitely worth a visit!
I had a really good time checking out the dorthea exhibition it was really interesting. The place seemed nice and people weir understanding
I want during the "Pablo Picasso" phase and thought it was an interesting presentation and gallery.
The MoMa is a wonderful gallery, though I thought it would be bigger, but it is just a few fews, but you can kill tons of time if you stop and enjoy each piece and read everything. If your not into art seriously, then you can probably bang this out in 30 minutes.
It has quite a diverse collection and themes, though I can't explain everything as you must go yourself. But it is very spacious compared to others, leaving more than enough room to explore and walk around without getting bumped into. I would recommend it to anyone coming out for a visit in NYC. The shop is also fun to shop by.
Super cool place tons and tons to see but the close early. So check there hours before you go make sure you have a few hours to spend there. They need to stay open a little later, say 7 or 8 would be nice.
Modern Art, what else? Despite some stupid security guy that doesn t knows that art must be seen, even sited on the floor...
Great exhibition of Rivera, Kahlo and Picasso. My students really enjoyed it!
Loved this place excellent Display of Art and information regarding the artist. I enjoyed every floor...including the short videos...interesting. Enjoyed thier Art Gallery Store. It can take an entire afternoon to really appreciate the all the displays.
On my visit, temporary exhibitions replaced some of the most iconic pieces of this museum
Too much people!
The collection is very interesting, but after two rooms you tried by people
One of the best Museums in the world. The best works of art at a astonishing venue in midtown Manhattan. A must do and mist see when in New York! To beat the crowds order a ticket online and visit during weekdays in the morning
Very cool! I love that the exhibits are always changing a great place to see classic and modern art !
This is a must see if you're visiting the city. Such an incredible collection. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was perfect. Not too busy so we could take our time and see the paintings. Starry Night stole the show which made me sad for Van Gogh's Olive Trees which is just as stunning to me. The best part was Monnets water lilies however. It's MASSIVE. I had no idea. It looks so small at the coffee cups! Anyway. Go. It's a brilliant way to spend an afternoon.
Housing some of the world most significant modern art works.
I would definitely come back, plan ahead it s pretty big and you need time to see it all!
This is the world famous modern art museum. The collections are always impressive, and you are likely to find a few unexpectedly very famous works as you stroll through.
My all-time favourite museum in NYC. I came here on a day when it was free with a few friends, and it still wasn't too crowded. Recommend to anyone visiting NYC :)
Good ass place to view some history and modern stuff
The place is super crowded. It is hard to enjoy the art work in such environment. I don't understand some of the works.
In my opinion the paintings were something to be understood and appreciated. The artworks that are displayed in MoMA are exceptional and words cannot describe the phenomenal works that this place offers.
This was a sad experience. I do not recommend going. I went extremely far out of my way to visit. Paid for my ticket and upon entry I was informed that I had to leave my backpack in their baggage room. Now, my backpack is a small jansport school book bag. The one with a leather bottom. I had valuables inside the bag and the people working at MOMA looked sketchy. I didn't feel comfortable leaving my bag for fears of getting my stuff stolen by the ppl working there. I told this to the young lady that was taking tickets and she said I can't enter without checking my bag. After going back and forth for a few minutes they made it clear that they were not going to let me in with the bag and they were not going to give refunds for the tickets I purchased. I ended up leaving without entering the museum after paying for tickets. Don't bother going to MOMA. It's not worth it!
It is a exquisite place. The coat check people were quite miserable at 10:30am. Three of the paintings I wanted to see were not on view or traveling which was a bummer. The information desk people were very pleasant.
Go if you hate yourself, and are more interested in tourist watching than actually experiencing art. I ve been to a number of contemporary art museums in a number of cities and never have I walked out feeling less than when I walked in. All I did was battle tourists. Crowd management was terrible for the number of people that were crammed in there.
Some interesting modern art work. Well worth a visit.
Its MOMA so it was an impressive collection of modern art. But the construction meant about 1/3rd of the space was closed off. I was disappointed that van Gogh's Starry Night was in such a heavy frame. It could have easily been a print and no one would know.
What an amazing museum. This is pretty much the top of the top when it comes to modern art. All your favorite artists are represented here. Come on certain Friday evenings for free entrance!
Bring enough time and do not visit the museum last minute. Amazing arts.
Highly recommend getting the membership if you live in New York! It s $90 for a year (if you sign up for auto-renewal of your membership) while a regular adult ticket is $25. The members are allowed to bring guests who only have to pay $5 and have access to exclusive coat check (which now tags your items to your phone number so you don t have to worry about losing the paper/plastic numbered sheets.) The revamped museum is worth a visit - it definitely feels a lot more spacious. The new gift shop looks cool from the outside because pedestrians can look down at the shop through the large glass windows. Looking forward to revisiting!
I tried to visit this place every year, and every time it leaves me speechless, highly recommend and a must go if you re visiting NYC
Great museum to visit with family. Nice and helpful staff and volunteers. There is a wide variety of art types in this museum. It was bit crowded when we went there but it was still a good experience looking at multiple art forms throughout the museum. The kids had lot of fun as well. I would say it is a great place to take your kids unless they are too young. I would recommend plan to visit this museum when it is not raining.
One my favorite places ever!! (Don t tell on me, but I prefer it to the Met)
New interactive exhibits. The one we enjoyed most was called Black Girl Looking Through a Window.
Amazing museum that you can peruse in a few quick hours. The MoMA has a great variety of works all fitting under the branch of modern art. We happened to go on a Friday, when they offer free admission!
Mix of excellent and questionable art. Well worth a visit and return.visits
I am visiting my son, daughter in law and 2 1/2 year old granddaughter. We had a lovely time in the children's center. We also ate at the restaurant, which had great food.
Beautiful museum, filled with famous paintings and sculptures! You can view, eat, drink, and find a place to rest inside and outside.
Bring your guess here, best ever place to take the whole family.
You pay full price for a half museum. Don't go now. They will close soon for a few months to restyle, some floors are allready closed, as well a the statute garden. But you are not informed about this before you pay full price for the ticket.
Happy to see the then "modern" art made by classic masters... A Starry Night was the icing of my visit...
How many of the best museums can one city need? I'm sure the MoMA has been reviewed by people with much more insight on the topic than me, but know this - if you're not into modern art, there's lots of ancient art too, and the modern art even is all presented in ways that you'll find surprisingly worthwhile, whether it's for the intended provocation of thought or just mere amusement.
BEST MUSEUM EVER, really good museum, different style, type, could stay for 1 entire day inside!
The usual collection was there as usually, it currently has somewhat good temporary exhibitions!
Also, having to prebook your tickets is great during the pandemic - it s preventing over crowding!
Phenomenal museum, really. Original Picasso s, Van gogh s and Frida Kahlo s, i was blown away!
The Dali clock painting was on lease sadly but the modern stuff was great. Especially the Brazilian artist.
The building itself is well laid out and spacious. A great date venue or place to chill out and settle the mind.
Security are as overzealous as ever but that s normal for New York.
Definitely check it out.
Absolutely amazing. It is not as big as most European museums but you find very iconic pieces here, such as Magritte, van Gough, Salvador Dali and many amaerican painters, such Lichtenstein and Andy. It is a must see if you love art.
It's OKAY. It's really built up by others to be a magical, extraordinary collection of breathtaking art, so we were incredibly disappointed by the collections. The Frank Lloyd Wright collections were neat; there were some lovely collections from the famous artists throughout history. The all-white canvas and other similar pieces were silly to us (and so many others) but everyone appreciates art differently, I suppose. But for the price, I'd have loved to see pieces that weren't blank canvases and a nonsensical string of letters that imitates what a bird would sound like pronouncing Robert
Rauschenberg's last name (the Rauschenberg: Among Friends exhibit.)
Most beautiful place in NYC. The posters and postcards bought here are still so bright.
Top flight museum with an amazing collection in a beautiful space. A bit pricey to enter, but worth it.
This museum is an awesome place your imagination will run wild and be amazed at some beautiful collections of art
Great modern exhibits! A must see if you like art on all its forms.
Very busy when we went, but that did not take away from all the fun that was had! This is our families favorite museum!
Enjoyed our visit. Great deal if one of four is local: one guest becomes member ($85) while the other three pay $5/p as their guest. Membership includes many perks.
In Friday s afternoon the museum is free. You can see a lot of very famous artist.
It was free in friday after 4PM. There are very famous masterpieces. I could buy copied paintings at the store.
Easy to get to. Wide variety of exhibits. Not too crowded. If you have a couple hrs. to spare, you will be glad you stopped by.
Enjoyed stuff from 1920 - 1970. Most of the recent stuff was odd for my taste, but other may find value in the recent stuff. Fantastic restaurants.
Museum full of wonderful works of art and friendly helpful staff. Completely beautiful and a great way to spend time in NYC. The chocolate chip cookies at the coffee bar are to die for!!!
We made use of the Uniqlo sponsored free entree on Fridays. We entered the building at 8pm and there was no queue, as the majority of the people were already inside. We had one hour to explore the first 3 top floors. Luckily we started at the top, otherwise we would've missed the famous Van Gogh. :)
