The facility was great. Enjoyed the art pieces. However the people working there are horrible. The coat check lady directing traffic was the worst. Not the woman behind the counter, the one out in front of the counters. Also, do not try to carry a purse or a bag into the exhibits. You will be forced to check your items even though their policy allows small bags. When you ask they will simply respond "Free coat and bag check". Then you ask again and they just bark "Free coat and bag check". Customer service is a black eye on this museum.

The museum of modern art or MoMA is of course very famous. My favorite part was the virtual reality exhibit. It really allowed viewers to interact with the piece which is rare for an art museum. I wish there was a bit more information about the pieces shown. The student discount was very helpful.

The Moma is a meeting place for the art movements around the world, not only it houses some the treasures of the world art but it keeps up with anything new that appears on the horizon, if you're in New York ,visit this place, you will enjoy it, just make sure that you go early, closes 530 pm and your phone is fully charged, lots of pictures, get your art updates there.

First time there since the renovation. Very nice job. However, getting around ti all the galleries was not obvious and a bit challenging. Could have and probably will do a better job with the flow in the foture. Many cutos for the inclusion of women and minority artists and finally recognizing photography as a real art form. The picture i attached is how uor will feel if you try to do the entire museum in one day.

I love the art here, but I hate the layout. The map they give you doesn't have notes of which exhibits are where. On each floor near the elevators there is a listing of all the special exhibits open and which floor they are on, but nothing about where on the floor they are. The staff is friendly and will help you find your way though. I especially like the outdoor sculpture garden. It's nice to relax there with a glass of wine when the weather is nice.

I'm not well-versed in art - not in it's history, creation, or analysis.

I do know that I like MoMA.

For me, it satisfyingly presents works along the spectrum from "classic" modern art (movements) to newer, boundary-pushing, less understood pieces.

I also appreciate the breadth (re: variety) of the pieces on display from it's collection at any given time.

The museum is currently under construction, so that might explain it, but at times, the museum was hard to navigate. Other than that, it was wonderful. The art was diverse and definitely worth seeing. They had a live ballet performance which was also beautiful.

It was a rainy day and I had to stay for more than an hour to enter the place... But it is worth!!! It was a good experience... It is highly recommended!!!

I am a fan of modern art, but apart from the top floor classics - the rest was pretty poor to average. Also far too much queuing..... we had pre-paid ticket/vouchers but still had to queue for the actual entrance ticket. Then an even longer queue for the compulsory baggage drop. Also queued 1 1/2 hours for Tania Bruguera exhibition that was extremely poor. Far below expectations. Although it is a great building/space.

What a lovely place to feel arts. Went with my girlfriend today and we were totally lost in the massive modern arts exhibitions. Wright's architectures attracted us most. There were also many contemporary arts that we felt hard to interpret n appreciate. Overall, a nice n solid art museum.

Btw, Friday 4-8 pm is Uniqlo' free night!

Definitely worth a visit. We loved the Adrian Piper exhibition. So exciting to see Van Gogh's Starry Night plus paintings by Jackson Pollack, Picasso, Matisse, Dali, Warhol, Frida Kalo and many more

Great place to visit. Worth spending a whole day studying the paintings from famous artists in the past as well as discovering new and impressive artworks in the last decade. Free audio guide devices are provided and they really come in useful while exploring the museum. Free bag storage service is also provided so anyone can enjoy the visit.

We came to the MOMA. I have to say, it was more crowded than I could have ever imagined. They also have wheelchairs one can borrow (since I needed to borrow one.... thanks saitaic pain!) the problem was mostly the people who were all just standing in the way, or walking in front of us when they clearly saw us rolling by, or not moving when we politely asked people to move. It made for a distracting and frustrating time in the museum.

The art is absolutely amazing... I'm giving it 4 stars because of logistical reasons. They do not allow bags inside but they do allow purses. Making that distinction is very arbitrary, I had a purse with straps that was not allowed in even though it was small and most importantly my medication was inside and I need to have it on me at all times. I told them this but because of some straps on my bag it wasn't okay. Doesn't make sense and I put my health at risk.

Free Friday rocks

Free Friday rocks

The staff is incredibly well prepared for the crouds and still friendly and awasome

Recommend not getting there too early, we ended up having a coffee on the terrace and waiting for most people to leave so we could walk.

But close to 8:00, that's when the free entrance ends we got to see the Vang Gogh all for us.

I lost my phone while in there and the staff was amazing and supporting and my phone and I are back.

There are a few good pieces here from a variety of good artists, but I've seen better collections. VanGough's Starry Night is the main attraction in my opinion. There are a couple from Picasso, Monet, Cezanne and one from Pollock and Warhol. Ticket prices are reasonable at $25. It got pretty crowded by noon on a weekday. We started at 10:30, when it opens, and went to the top floor and worked our way down. I recommend doing the same. Give yourself at least 3-4 hours.

I have never been!

Right now they have a collection between the 1880s and the 1950s on the 5th floor which includes: Van Gogh, Pollock, Picasso, Monet, Matisse, Cezanne, Seurat & more from the era. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. It was a stunning collection.

Probably my favourite museum! We visited during the free Uniqlo Friday nights. We started queuing at 15:30 and were in just after 16:00. It was busy but it has some of the best work of arts by renowned artists from the last 200 years and is a must!

Modern Art's greatest hits all in one place! You name any important person or work and it is probably here. People seem taking selfies with paintings. That should tell you something. Do not miss.

It was very crowded but we had little trouble seeing Starry Night, which was our main purpose for going.

We had the New York Pass which includes this as an attraction.

Worth the time just to see Starry Night and the dozen or so other famous works even casual art observers can recognize

Museum of Modern Art, or MoMA for short, is an overwhelming art institution. Newly reopened after a totl remaking of the place, MoMA offers great spaces for enjoing contemporary art. They have many classic works from European and American "modern canon", but also curates highly interesting ahowcases of lesser know artists and what's happening in the art world now. They also have a nice sculpture garden. Order tickets online, and you save your self some time. And plan to spend many hours there.

It's the MoMa! Anyone could spend hours here, even if you don't know what you're looking for. The museum holds all kinds of public events including concerts in the garden which is a must-see. The museum also holds very famous works such as Starry Starry Night.

At a price of $25 per person we were underwhelmed. And you might as well get your tickets in advance because standing in line at the entrance will probably take you an hour or more.

The minimalist design of the building was surely a conscious design choice for obvious reasons, but the strange floor plan left me scratching my head. When we went the place was crawling with visitors young and old and navigating the floors more resembled a game of Frogger than a relaxing day at an art museum. Of course there are many world famous works here, but they deserve more reverence than one can muster when sandwiched between a group of Spanish tourists and shouting children. And the Marcel Duchamp pieces are life changing (just kidding, I only wanted to sound pretentious).
