I have broken this review down to the Pros and Cons for those looking for an honest review. I currently live at The Reserve at Harper's Point apartments in Murfreesboro, TN.
Pros:
The maintenance crew is friendly, knowledgeable, and respond incredibly quickly. The dog park is convenient and usually stocked with dog waste bags for your convenience. The apartments are relatively decent, having faux hardwood in all of the units that I have been in, although none of the windows seem to open properly or close completely and will asffect your electric bill(maybe just the units that I have experienced). The complex is close to the interstate which makes my early morning work-commute slightly easier.
Cons:
I have lived at Harper's Pointe Apartments for almost three years. In those three years I have witnessed two arrests, a police chase, and a literal gunfight right outside my window. After the gunfight, I no longer felt safe in my own home. The property manager Valerie Whitlock, and assistant property manager Adam Fowler, have "accidentally" charged me double rent multiple times since I have been a resident. Each time no one takes responsibility and a computer glitch is blamed. I can understand once, but multiple times is unacceptable. At this point it feels discriminatory. Good luck getting your money back in a timely fashion, because I was in the negative in my bank account for an entire week and a half before they could overnight a check to compensate for their mistake. Unfortunately, even the Regional Manager, Ashley Herndon, was unhelpful, condescending, and antagonistic toward me and the situation management created. The only way to get my money refunded sooner, I was told, was to sign a non-disclosure agreement stating that I would waive the right to speak about this incident. All of this was unacceptable. I was left in debt, with overdraft fees, missed payments, had to wait to buy groceries, and was without recourse for a week and a half during a global pandemic. They made me feel as though their mistake was mine to fix. The constant runaround given to me from the management staff alone is enough for me to question the decisions made by the Michelson Organization (who own the property).
Overall, I would say that these apartments are not worth your time, hassle, or the price, as several other apartment complexes close by have similar monthly rent with newer buildings (and more qualified management). The marketing for this apartment complex is appealing, but the reality of being overcharged by double on several different occasions, only confirms that the promises and claims on their website are disingenuous at best, and intentionally misleading at worst.
