I think if you see a negative review of the Met its because someone wanted something other than what this landmark specializes in .if you goto Chinatown for a burger you'll be dissatisfied. The Met has been around a long time and I always get a steak. Chips are great, lamb, very good soups, the drink menu is exceptional and they have a very good wine list. Having said that the onion rings with red curry ketchup is awesome. The artichoke hearts are great. The prime Delmonico is my favorite steak have it with a prawn martini with ketel one . the hot apple pie with a bitter end of the drink menu.

I have been here multiple times and the Entrees are outstanding. The sides are delicious but considering that this is an up-scale restaurant, I think they need some work. The service here has been hit or miss, we usually get decent service but I'd expect a lot more from such a nice establishment. The vibe is really classy and it's never too loud or crowded. Although the service is the reason for the 4-star, I will still come back here for the overall experience of great food and an elegant environment.

Great fine dining restaurant in downtown Seattle. The food is perfect and the service is top notch. We were also impressed with the social distancing precautions they had in place. Overall, it is a wonderful experience.

This is a very nice place. The service was impeccable. The dark wood, brass, and velvet add an old school charm to this classic steakhouse. But, my $60 steak was medium, not rare. The slab of meat was not ruined, and so I did not send it back. I am dissapointed that I was unable to try it cooked to its highest potential. When you get a plate with half roasted dried out root vegetables, the steak should at least be cooked as ordered. While I appreciate the decor, the carpet is worn, and the booths could be reupholstered. While a classic, the fixtures look more worn than classic in some places. The spirit selection was acceptable, bit nothing special. The rarest spirit seen on the menu was the over-priced Jack Daniels Sinatra Edition. The wine selection, however, has some exceptional Washington and California offerings. There are of course, plenty of options from Italy and France as well. Overall, I enjoyed my dinner, but if I had to foot the bill, Metropolitan Grill would not be on the top of my list.

This is the nicest restaurant I've ever been to, but it isn't stuffy or pretentious. Extremely knowledgeable staff, fantastic bar selection, and steak choices that are exclusive to them. The snow beef, raised in Japan, comes from a farm that only provides its beef to the Met and two Asian Michelin rated restaurants. Always a great choice. Forget Ruth Chris or Morton's, this is the best steakhouse in Seattle.

Parking: If you have to park in the garage around the corner, be mindful that it closes at 6 and it's like $24 to park after that

The happy hour here came highly recommended so that's what I went for and it did not disappoint! The appetizers are delicious, the drinks are good and the service is even better.

They have steaks on display at the entrance I definitely plan to come here for dinner next time

Great steaks, but around that price range their is ample competition in the area, and it would be hard to decide this as the winner. The service is excellent though. The waiters are definitely knowledgeable about what they serve. If you aren't willing to shill out a hundred dollars a person, come for the happy hour. The food is still good, but reasonably priced.

I come here for a sit-down dinner probably 2-3 times a year (usually for my wife's birthday and a couple other random occasions), however I've gone to the happy hour dozens of times. They are different experiences and deserve different reviews.

Sit down dinner: Ex-pen-sive, but worth it. There are two places I usually go for special occasions because I KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt that we will be treated right - here, and Canlis. The thing about Canlis is it's a place to go when you want to get dressed up, eat some good food, and have a "fancy" experience (which I do from time to time.) However, I find more often I want to throw on jeans and a t-shirt, and waltz in to be treated just as well as the person next to me wearing a suit. Of course, the Rolex might give me away, but I don't always wear it!

Service: Service at dinner and in the bar (HH) are always excellent. With dinner you obviously get a slightly higher level of attentiveness, and the servers tend to be a bit more knowledgeable/experienced/engaging overall, but that's to be expected. Servers in the bar are friendly, helpful, and there when you need them (and not when you don't.) A great thing about this place after going there for years, is I've noticed the staff does not rotate much which is a good sign. I've had the same guy help me pick out a steak 3 years ago as I did last week, and that's neat.

On to the food... it's all good. Done. That was easy. Ok, now really, you can't go wrong with any of the steaks. If you are there with a significant other you can make it a little more romantic at both dinner and dessert by getting a "for 2" item, where they do prep and serve you tableside, that's fun to try at least once. Their garlic mashed potatoes are out of this world, I actually get those to go during happy hour for my wife or she'd get mad at me. The lobster mac and cheese is also fantastic, though I warn you it doesn't heat up well so try and finish it there if you can. Their carrot cake is outstanding, and I frequently get it to go even if I have something else (like a creme brulee, which is also excellent here.) When you make the reservation let them know if it's a special occasion - they've surprised us from time to time.

HAPPY HOUR! One of the best happy hours for food you are going to find in western Washington, hands down. Their drinks are slightly more expensive than average, but only by $1-3 depending on what you are ordering, and the food is DIRT CHEAP for what you are getting. The $8 burger and thick wedge fries (with special sauce) puts most joints in Seattle to shame even at the normal $20 price. The rest of the HH menu is good, but that burger takes the cake. Do be aware that this time on weekdays is quite popular, and if you get there much after 3 you may have to hop on a waitlist to get a table. Don't think I've ever waited more than maybe 20 minutes though somehow.

The bar area during HH is generally full of white collar folks, professionals ranging from old to young. Some attendees are exactly who you would expect to find, others not so much, but it's a friendly crowd. I recommend this HH to everyone I know though - you can have a Met 'light' experience for 30-60 bucks (a fraction of dinner prices) which gets you plenty of good food and drinks.

I'll add my 5-star review to countless others. There's no doubt you'll leave with a nice dent in your wallet after a visit, but the experience and quality of food here is absolutely not to be missed. Their steak is among the best I've ever had, mixed expertly with amazing vegetables or starches. Combined with an excellent selection of drinks and a wonderful wait staff, I'd recommend The Met to anyone looking for an upscale meal in downtown Seattle.

My wife and I are from VA and when we visit Seattle, the Met is the very best restaurant in Seattle. The food is amazing and be sure to order the dungeonous crab appetizer. The staff are professionals and know their menu inside out. Be sure to put this restaurant on to must visit list.

This review is of our 2nd visit to The Met and sadly we will probably not return. There were just too many unsatisfactory issues this time. First, my sazerac came delivered in a martini glass with a cherry. I was so so so very disappointed that I'm still recovering tdoay. Our server did offer to take it back and have it fixed but I declined.

Second, our appetizers were not up to par. The calamari was overcooked, rubbery and chewy. The seared Ahi was mediocre. The cuts were a bit too large. I prefer pieces I can delicately place onto my tongue rather than have to shove it into my mouth. The sear didn't have much seasoning either. I was really looking forward to enjoying the Ahi too.

Our entrees: 16oz Ribeye and Wild King Salmon were not extraordinary. Both dishes were tasty and we enjoyed it but our tab total of $356 for 4 people just didn't sit well. Hubby felt the ribeye wasn't valued at $62 for what was delivered. King Salmon was grilled to what I could have probably done.

Servers, staff and valet were wonderful, friendly and attentive.

Amazing food destination. They have all the varieties of food. We were four people and everyone enjoyed the food. When you come, please make sure that you are booking a table in advance. We tried many different items and all those were delicious. A must go place if you are living nearby. I recommend it.

Great steaks. I had buffalo, good. Waiter was good for about a hour. Than he lost intrust in our table, but all went well. If you go to the Met request Noi for your waiter. Trust me. He's great.

Well known upscale steakhouse in downtown Seattle. There is a popular bar that is regularly crowded with post work happy hour goers. This is a nice restaurant with good food, but I find it a bit pricey, especially anything from the bar. Lots of whiskey and wines and etc to choose from, but you will pay for it. The restaurant feels a bit old fashioned but if you are into steak and table side ceremony it might be your thing. I would reccommend coming here as long as you know what to expect. I tried the chicken wings at happy hour and they were very good, they have a kind of bbq and hot sauce mix that is delicious.

There's not really much to say here, if you haven't heard of the Met, then you haven't had one of the best steaks in Seattle. Very high class, good portions, and quite possibly the best service in all of Seattle. Their food is amazing, drinks as well. Just know that it gets pricey fast, so this is more of a celebratory visit unless you have a really high paying job.

My wife and I had a wonderful evening and Mackenzie made the experience all the more remarkable! Well informed of the selections with a personable attitude, and lively conversation. I would encourage anyone to stop by for a one-of-kind Seattle dining, this is THE place. Valet service was good as well.

It is one of the best, if not the best steak I have ever had. Great appetizers. Great salads. Great steaks and sides. Great dessert. Top of all great service. Take a break to really check out the awesomeness of the decor and architecture of this fine dining establishment. No dress code requirement. I came in just wearing a tshirt and shorts with a back pack on. It is expensive so ne prepared to spend some money... well worth it.

This place is absolutely amazing! Their crab, candied bacon, and especially wagyu steaks are simply the best! Their warm freshly prepared apple pie was easily the greatest dessert I have ever had anywhere. The staff are incredibly timely, nice, talkative. You definitely get what you pay for at this place.

My husband and I booked this restaurant to celebrate an important birthday. When we got there we discovered that we had inadvertently booked the previous night. Despite the fact that the restaurant was busy, the manager could not have been kinder. He quickly found us a nice table and we had a celebration to remember.

Came here for a family celebration and had a wonderful time. The staff was attentive and friendly and the service was impeccable. We don't usually eat anything so fancy and our waiter made us feel very comfortable and thoroughly explained the different cuts of beef and provided us recommendations on dishes. Every part of the meal as quite excellent as well. The bread was warm and delicious. We had the calamari as an appetizer and every piece was tender and none over chewy. Of course what this places comes down to is the quality of the steak. My family sampled the rib eye, sirloin, prime rib, and cap top. Each piece was cooked just right and had excellent flavor. Dessert was bananas foster and it was great as well. It was overall a lot of food and the staff very kindly packed up our leftovers. Overall, an excellent experience and would recommend for your choice of steakhouse in Seattle.
