We had a slew of small plates and everything was great. Our favorites were the chorizo stuffed dates, the smoked pork belly and the cheese plated. Great setting, great service. A really enjoyable meal!

Would get 5* but -1* for value. Quality is 5*. Service 4*. Had bone in ribeye 40oz for $140. The steak was cooked perfectly but slightly under seasoned. Great steak. Still one of my favorite restaurant to dine. Recommend filet and fencg onion soup as well.

Came with my parents for my Birthday, the most amazing experience ever! From start to finish everything was absolutely incredible, I had the best Fillet in my life, our server was great & had a good sense of humor! Will undoubtedly be back, someday.

This place is one of the premier steakhouses in the city and really a world class steakhouse. The best cuts of meat, the best wine, the best sides, the best deserts I have ever had came from here. If you haven't been to The Met you owe it to yourself to visit and have a wonderful meal.

Am I steak person? Usually, no. My husband is. We've always just been keen on Ruth's Chris because it's a chain and it pretty much always tastes the same. We wanted something great for our anniversary.

We were promptly seated after valeting our car (there is no parking over there, don't even try). We got greeted at the table and asked if we wanted to start with drinks. I wasn't drinking at the time but my husband got an old fashioned which was pretty good.

Now, this is where it gets good. Apparently this restaurant has a certain kind of steak that is a delicacy. It is basically a marbled steak. I got the Ohmi Filet. The steak melted in the mouth. It was so good. I have went back and got the Wagyu but definitely prefer the Ohmi. My husband got the Snow Beef, which he now deems his favorite steak.

This is definitely not a place you order your steak well done, burnt to a crisp. Nor is it an Outback where you are gonna spend about $50 on your date out. You are paying for what you get and what you get is quite possibly the best steak in Seattle.

We went twice in about a week! Yes, expensive, but we're celebrating two occasions. Both times were amazing.

We visited the Metropolitan Grill for dinner on ou...

We visited the Metropolitan Grill for dinner on our first day in Seattle visiting out of town and left with a lot of displeasure. After reading several reviews and hearing how wonderful Metropolitan Grill was, we did not have the same experience.

Our dining experience started off wonderful but was ruined midway through our dinner. We made reservations at 8 PM but arrived a little early at 7:45 and the hostess was able to accommodate us only having to wait about 5 minutes. Once seated, we were greeted by our server requesting our drink orders and provided fresh warm bread to start with. He went over all of the meat selections along with the specials on the menu for the night. Since this was our annual guys trip that we budget for, we wanted to try the best selections from the menu.

For Six People we ordered:

Drinks: Ordered some specialty cocktails (Met mango margarita, Mezcal mule and another drink)

Appetizer: King Crab Cakes, Almond Crusted Scallops, French Onion Soup, Lobster Bisque and Tenderloin Tartar

Main Entrees: Boneless Ribeye, Olive Steak Oscar Style, Cap Top Steak, Hokkaido Filet, Ohmi Filet, 2 Australian Lobster Tails

Sides: Lobster Macaroni and Cheese

Dessert: Banana Foster and Hot Apple Pie

Before our order was placed we received our cocktail drinks and they were all good except for one. We then started receiving our appetizers which were also very tasteful and presented nicely.

Once our appetizer finished, it took quite some time for our steaks to arrive which we did not mind as the restaurant seemed pretty busy. However once our steak arrived, for a high end steak restaurant we would expect our server to ask us to cut into our steaks making sure it was cooked to our desired temperature but this did not happen and our waiter left the table. The result of this was that one of our friends that ordered the cap steak med-rare came out to med to med-well and both of our lobster tails seemed very tough or overcooked.

In addition to the cap steak, the presentation was not expected as this meat was sliced into pieces instead of one whole piece like the others (causing the steak to cook even more to a well done since the plate was hot and the juices were flowing out). After most of us started digging into our meal, it took almost 10 minutes until our waiter came back to check on us realizing that the cap steak was overcooked. He immediately took the plate and stated it would be 10-15 min to have another replaced and provided a small crab cocktail for the guest to enjoy while waiting. After 25-30 minutes EVERYONE was finished with their food and the waiters assistant removed everyone's plate leaving the sides. We pushed all of our sides along with the lobster to our one friend that still did not have his steak to eat while he was waiting. Finally after about 35 minutes he received his steak and it was cooked to the desired temperature. We all watched him rush on eating his steak leaving an uncomfortable experience since everyone was done.

After our main entrees, we ordered the hot apple pie and banana foster for two. The presentation and dessert were both very wonderful but I would mention that each of the desserts could be for four people at least. Around 10:20 we received our tab and it was well over one-thousand dollars after tip. This was not a normal dinner and like most people it is a privilege to dine out nice every once in awhile.

Overall for a high end restaurant, we did not enjoy our meals due to the experience and presentation of the entrees we had. We would not really suggest it to our friends or family back home. For a restaurant with a rich history and high reviews we really expected more.

Hum what can I say.... ignored multiple times stared at and not greeted or welcomed or offer a drink. However mindedly hungry I had to go get management just to put in a drink order. I actually was the only person that looked liked me there but nevertheless customer service should be key. Cocktail manager gave me a " token " drink when I actually wanted food .I assume regulars know

Took a coworker for his first time and it was just as I remembered. Old, casual decor, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff and EXCELLENT food and drink. The recommended wine pairing was perfect and the Half prime half Wagyu filet was a great balance with the contrast between the 2 cuts. The sides were very good, but so what? Haha it's all about the beef, which was cooked perfectly.

Came here for dinner one night using a Buy 2 Entrees, get 2 free deal and had an absolutely amazing experience! If I find myself with the cash, I'd love to come here again to try out a few different cuts of meat. We stuck with the signature steaks and didn't get any Wagyu meat but still really enjoyed the food. My favorite side was definitely the baked potato, you can basically get any topping/combo that you can dream of.

The service and experience were also top notch. Our server was excellent about explaining different dishes, cooking techniques, and options to us, and even let us get a sampler of all the different sauces to try with our steak.

Great service and will definitely try to find my way back. Parking around the area can be a bit tough though and we ended up several blocks away and needed to pay for street parking.

Metropolitan Grill is the white tablecloth go-to restaurant on Seattle. Disclaimer that I have an aversion to these types of places because they tend to be full of pomp and ceremony and then come up short when it comes to delivering good food to match. The service was very attentive and professional, but maybe a little overdone. The food was good, but nothing showed up that I would call great. Expensive and forgettable, but certainly nothing offensive. I walked away content so I'll round up to 4 stars.

Expensive hard to find parking. Pre-Christmas patrons packed the place. Servers are attentive professionals. Drinks are pricey. Food was very good - we had the stroganoff split and a couple of their house drinks for $65 plus tax. The bar menu for happy hour looked reasonable. We go here a couple times a year.

I ve been here many times over the years but lately it s just not doing it for me. We went the other night and I ve had a hard time with steak lately so I asked for it to be medium well. They came out and it was absolutely not. Server was patronizing and tried to explain to me that this was what medium looks like, and I had to say I know, remember we discussed this and I decided to order medium well. I certainly know the difference and I know what I ordered, even talked to her about it. She apologized but it wasn t sincere, they took the steak back to fix it, but it took them forever to bring it back out. By then I had eaten everything else and I really didn t want it. I told her that and she just boxed it up. Didn t take it off, didn t offer anything else to make it right, and basically ignored us the rest of the dinner. Didn t refill my diet Coke. Basically, just crappy service I could get anywhere. I would rather go to The Brooklyn or Jak s. Not sure why I tried giving The Met a chance again. Not only this time, but the last two or three times we have been here it has been less than inspiring and not worth it.

Had dinner in the bar & was served by Rachel who is one of the best servers I've ever had. She did a fantastic job. If you sit in the bar ask for her . I shared Chateaubriand and it was excellent. The thing that struck me was how accommodating & nice everyone was & willing to do whatever it took to make my visit enjoyable.I know there are negative reviews out there but perhaps a one off? I'll be going back & I live an hour away.

This is where the old rich money in Seattle go. We went with a party of 5 and each person ordered a steak. We shared appetizers and dessert. We also had two bottles of wine. Our bill was $1700. Definitely a spendy place. The food was excellent. My meat was tender and melted in my mouth. The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon by Jordan Winery was amazinggggggg! Met Grill has definitley turned me onto delicious wine. I definitley would return here on special occasions in the future. Service was top notch and the atmosphere is comparable to Capital Grill. I love this place! They also have happy hour which I've yet to try. Will update my post when I do.

Definitely one of the best Steakhouses in the country. Blackened Prime Rib is my favorite, but all the cuts are choice. The Bartenders are fantastic (old school and well trained), ask for Rob to make you their Smokey Martini!

This is actually John's wife reviewing. We have made a practice of visiting nice steak houses in various cities and have been consistently impressed until dining at the Metropolitan Grill. The prices were actually higher than at other restaurants (Gibson's in Chicago, Grill 23 in Boston, Golden Steer in Las Vegas to name a few favorites), and yet it was far inferior to each of these and others. The cocktail was mediocre, the side dishes were unacceptable (dry potatoes, old asparagus, undercooked, nearly raw mushrooms) and the steaks were overcooked, all being medium rather than medium rare as requested. The desserts were fine but presented in stupidly large portions. When a dinner for 4 costs nearly $600, I have high expectations, and the Metropolitan Grill fell far short of those expectations. I will say that the service was excellent; however, another negative was that other diners were wearing flip flops, sweat pants and other completely inappropriate attire. Restaurants do have the ability to create a culture in the dining room that prevents this. All of this together left an impression of laziness and absence of excellence.

This T-bone steak has surpassed everything in the meat area! I have followed the advice of the waiter who did not say anything wrong. The sommelier came with an excellent American wine. It was simply enjoyment.
The service is perfect. If you like meat and are prepared to pay for this, then you are at the right place.

This restaurant claims to have the best steak and it surely has amazing steaks and other food. We did not get their most exotic steak available at $250, but we had a 16oz. Ribeye, 18oz. Flank, and a 10oz. Buffalo steaks. Seared tuna and brussel sprouts were perfectly cooked and seasoned. To finish us off the Blueberry lemon sorbet was a perfect end to the night.

First impressions, for me personally, I extremely appreciated the layout #1; This restaurant's concept of what a memorable fine dining experience is.., I LOVE LOVE LOVE !

Sexy, swanky, with a low-key vibe, but has held a reputation for being one of the best steak houses in the state for years now.
People who know what's up, know to come here! Great food, great staff!

Amazing ambience, and prices to go with it. Expect to spend $150 each, at minimum. Amazing wine list and even their house red was great. Clam chowder was thick and chunky, steak was tasty and tender. All around great meal.

The ambiance was great as was the service. I think this was by far the most attentive staff that has ever received us. The disappointment came with the food but not because of the taste. After almost a 40 min wait for the food the steaks were barely warm and my wife's looked burnt while mine was perfect.
