This place has the best food. Breakfast lunch and dinner are all amazing. I had previously said in my last review that the staff was amazing, but this time around I was less than impressed. We started off fine. Got the appetizer and meals in a timely manner, but our waitress did not check on us once. My drink was not refilled once. I ate ice for the last 20 minutes of my meal and waited for the check for another 15 after that. At one point she made eye contact with me and proceeded to the back. I would've been a little more understanding if it had been a full house, but there were only about 7 tables seated and maybe 2 or 3 were hers, including us. The waitress only showed up after I asked another waitress to speak to a manager. I spoke with a manager and he said that she was new and would speak to her. Did not offer to comp anything. Very disappointed this time around.

Metro Diner is MUST go to! Everything I have had on their menu has been delicious. There is usually a wait; but there's a reason for the wait and it's well worth it!

I had the thanksgiving special of a stuffing waffle with turkey and potatoes with gravy. It was delicious and fast with great service.

I've never had something I didn't like! They offer plenty of comfort food. The chicken n waffles, yo gala, and chicken pot pie are some of my favorites.

We decided to go here while some of our friends had been visiting from out of town. We told them this place had good food and a good slection plus it was close by. We arrived and were seated. Our waiter came over and took our orders for drinks. When he returned we ordered our food. The others in the group ordered and a few of us had modification to the item in the menu. One of us wanted no tomato, and I requested no onion on my Buffalo chicken salad. I also requested some of the buffalo sauce on the sIde. We waited for a while for our food, and the waiter came by and said "Oh they made your order wrong, they gave me a salad instead". I said, "a salad is what I ordered". So he returned with my salad and a chicken sandwich that I didn't order. My salad had onion on it and the other guys sandwich came with tomato. I asked about my buffalo sauce on the salad. He left and came back without it. I asked 3 more times and finally I was told the guy in the kitchen said they are to busy for them to get that for me. Great customer service. If there is no time for the customer what are they even there for? Ridiculous!!!! I was ready to tell the manger because they usually come by each table. They were not to be found. I won't be back!!!!

Awesome place. If you're ever in Jacksonville, a must visit. I recommend the shrimp and grits.

Chicken and waffles we're excellent!! Waitress was less than pleasant when asked questions about the misleading menu description of the chicken.

Food is really good. Crab benedict was great and their peach tea! Looonnnngg wait. Waited 45 minutes for a 2 top. The wait went up to over an hour after us. If you want to try this place, i recommend you go at a very slow time.

Great food, great service and served quick, hot and fresh.

Crowded. Average coffee. Decaf tea only. Pancakes arrived almost when we were leaving and they were undercooked. Hash browns dripping oil.

We have been coming here for over a year and absolutely love it! We have gotten to know many staff members and truly feel at home when we walk in. Both my daughters beg to go to Metro. Food and coffee are always fantastic too!

It was good as always. Had chicken and waffles. Chicken was juicy waffle was crispy let me tell u about the strawberry butter mmmm so good.

The food here is so worth it. We had the shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, and fried fish. All the praise is well deserved.

Service is also very quick and amiable.

We are frequent visitors to Metro Diner...Chris and his staff have always been good to us. Chris especially though. My favorite breakfast choice is the Yo Hala on the Square (Stuffed French Toast on Hala bread AMAZING!) when Covid hit they took it off the menu full-time. When I told Chris of my disappointment, he put it on their Specials for the next week. He asked me to call him and remind him and even though I forgot, he did not! We showed up on Saturday morning to a happy surprise...I was able to finally have my Hala after so many months! He does the same thing for my fiance who loves their CornBeef Hash breakfast). I can't recall one bad experience I've had dining here, the staff is fantastic and the food is always good. I recommend trying it if you haven't already, its likely to become one of your favs too.

Always a great place for friends an family to gather for some really good food. You may wait a bit for a table. Then again is that not true of most of the great places to eat. The service is great and they stand behind doing both. Something that can't be said about alot of places. The Monte Frisco was incredible!

Best burger I've had in a long! Service was wonderful! This place is perfect for any occasion!

Ordered breakfast through uber eats half of my order was missing when i received it. The home fries were cold, scrambled eggs were ok. Overall not that good. This is my second time trying this food. I have been disappointed both times.

We would return again for sure. Food was excellent, staff was friendly. Prices a little high, not too bad, but all else makes up for it.

This is for the Baymeadows location only. I've been to the Jax Beach and San Marco locations and they were good. Went to Baymeadows location today and had really bad service. Blonde server not going to put her name on here because she might have been having an off day. Condescending and overall bad experience. It took more than 10 min between drinks arriving to actually getting to order. Does not come across genuine either, and it was the most twilight zone experience. Would be cool if next time you ask if we would like same or separate checks please, never assume but it was easier for just one of us to pay then have to wait for you to come back. I'll stick to the Jax Beach location for sure.

There isn't one thing I have ordered that I didn't LOVE. Great prices and nice wholesome portions.

Great meatloaf dinner. Perfect ratio of meatloaf to mashed potatoes. Every bite had meat and potatoes till the very end. Food was hot and tasty.

Ordered fried chicken sandwich. Chicken was quite tasty. There was so much mayo on it I could not eat the bread. Male waiter was coughing constantly. Sometimes into his elbow sometimes over food and drink. Very distracting and obvious.

All the Metro Diners are great. Too many good things on the menu like the chicken and waffles, egg benedict, suausage and gravy, and pot pie. Never been disappointed. This location is open for dinner unlike some of their other locations.

Good variety of options. I can get bagel and lox here! Meatloaf is great!
