The Metro Diner Reviews

I had originally reviewed Metro Diner about a week or so ago. It wasn't the best review they received. I was contacted shortly afterwards by their manager who apologized and requested my home address so they could send a voucher good for another time in hopes that I would give them a second chance. Obviously I did and I'm very happy that I did. I have deleted my original post as not only was I impressed that Metro Diner was not going to allow my review to be my first and only impression of them, but that they truly wanted me to give them a second chance. I'm pleased to report that I'm so happy they did. Our breakfast arrived looking good, smelling fine and was sooo tasty! Staff were polite, professional and making sure everything was in good order and everyone was happy. The fact that they reached out to me, sent me not one but three gift certificates (which we will be using on their lunch & dinner menus) says a lot of how they want to and do go that extra mile to make sure ALL of their customers leave satisfied. I can't say ENOUGH good things about Metro Diner and I can assure anyone who hasn't dined here to do so, you'll be happy with the meal, the staff, the price and I'm sure like me you'll going to look forward to eating here again. Bravo Metro Diner, I'm a fan for life!

We did have to wait a good while to be seated. However, it was a busy Sunday after church had let out and it was packed! We waited for around 45 minutes but as soon as we sat down, our waitress came right over and grabbed our drinks for us. The food came out really fast too. IT WAS SO GOOD! I got the breakfast pizza and really, really enjoyed it! My husband got the chicken and waffles and I couldn't keep my hands off his plate. It was so yummy! I can't wait to go back and try their lunch or dinner items! Great service, even better food!

We go to Metro almost every single week and have always had a positive experience, it s what keeps us coming back and the food is to die for along with the reasonable prices! This morning, however, we were handed the check as soon as our food was given to us which made us feel like we were already unwelcomed. Our waitress, Natalie, didn t know the specials, didn t refill my water or husband s coffee, kept walking past us and ignored when we asked to please turn off the heat out on the patio as it was over 70 degrees outside and I m 6 months pregnant, and didn t check in to see how everything was. At first I gave her the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe she was new but the tables around us she was being completely different towards! I hope it s not an age thing because we re younger... I ve never left Metro at Southside upset or feeling unwanted.

Our family's favorite place to eat. We are regulars at least 2-3 times a week. Great food, great prices, generous portions and very friendly staff.

We've been trying to find great breakfast since 4am finally we just waited until METRO DINER on baymeadows opened. Austin was our waiter... HE GETS 5 STARS BY HIMSELF. He was attentive uplifting and very quick. He was awesome and his customer service is thru the roof. Even the manager Owen was attentive and awesome. We smiled and throughly enjoy our breakfast this morning and feel that this text book customer service should be showcased everywhere. Whomever the GM is you've chosen an awesome crew. We can't begin to Express the appreciation for our experience other than this SUPER COOL AWESOME review... WAAAAAAAY TO GO METRO..... SEE YOU SOON!

We had the chicken potpie and fish and chips . It was very good. Andrew was our waiter he was great.

Not really a real diner in the way that NJ Diners are but it's still very good.

Great southern comfort food that will give you a heart attack or stroke if you get the menu favorites everyday -- just get the eggs and hash browns with a fruit salad every once in a while and you should be okay.

Even if you're not feeling chicken and waffles, I strongly recommend a fried chicken item because it's lit.

Burgers are also great.

The yo hala on the square steals the show on the breakfast menu, but the huevos rancheros is probably the best thing on that side of the menu.

Tip: the portions are huge, and half orders can be applied to most items (ex. Chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, etc.)

So I was craving a burger on Sunday, and earlier in the week I was craving my mom's grilled cheese sandwiches with a tomato in it like she used to make when I was a kid. I was surprised that I was able to get both in one yesterday. It was amazing I got full off of the first half of the sandwich and my husband took the other half today to work for breakfast and he told me it was sooooo good. I just had to write a review because while I worried that this could lead to a heart attack, we were in heaven! Food is pleasure, it made us so happy to have that sandwich. Just thought I would share and your waitress and staff are excellent. Anyone who rates you less than 5 stars is crazy, you all deserve 5 stars and more in my opinion!

Metro Diner never fails! Excellent food. Try the chicken and waffles.

Food is amazing. We make a point at stopping at, at least one every time we are in Florida.

If you are visiting Jacksonville, FL You absolutely must visit this restaurant! They have other locations throughout the city but you'll get the same great food at fair prices! The staff are super friendly and the portions are big! They excel in breakfast so skip the fast food and treat yo self!
