The closest thing to "Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles" but the sauce that's served with the dish brings it to another level. I highly recommend this establishment to everyone in and around the Jacksonville area.
Large affordable and delicious varieties. An A-Plus in my pallet. Enjoy. Comparable to the Broken Egg, but in my opinion much better. Once again, enjoy it.

Very friendly staff and the food was excellent. Owner visited our table to ask us Howe liked everything and was genuine in his request. Place was packed for lunch but we were seated immediately.

I ve ordered from here often. I can understand being extremely busy on New Year s Day but I still expect my food to be edible. I m 9 months pregnant and ordered a philly cheese steak sandwich to go. I bit into it to find a piece of plastic glove in the sandwich. Very disappointed

I love, love, LOVE this place. Their menu has pretty much everything and a spin on all the breakfast classics. Usually very busy, but DEFINITELY worth the wait. I got the chicken and waffles and they do not disappoint. Metro diner is a local restaurant to go but you'll feel like you're in grandmas house instead of out to eat. I always bring my family here when they visit from out of town and they love it too.
First time visiting this location. Nicely greeted by management when steeping stepping through the door. We were quickly waited on. Food arrived in less than 10 minutes after ordering. Plates were nicely presented, quality and quantity were very satisfying. Server was very attentive and knowledgeable about menu items. Also shared with us that this particular location will be remodeling soon and expanding the menu entrees to pair with wine and alcoholic beverages.

The biscuits and gravy and the cinnamon roll pancakes are to die for! The service is friendly and speedy. And....the bathrooms are clean. We will definitely go back next time we are in town.

The breaded chicken they served was literally raw, they forgot to put it on the grill. Although the Manager was surprised and apologetic this was the third bad experience there. After having stomach cramps from Metro again I will never go back. Very nice servers but nasty food and nasty fried. smell on hair and clothing.
We love Metro. Huge portions and EVERYTHING is delicious. Our last visit, there was a mixup in the kitchen and a delay of items coming out. The manager graciously put in an entire new order for the WHOLE table AND took care of the bill. She went way above and beyond. Absolutely will continue to go to Metro Diner!!!
Every time I come here, the food, the quantity and the service is always AMAZING. No wonder this place has a huge crowd. Keep it up guys. Would recommend this place. Don't forget to try the Chicken and Waffles.
Was in town for the weekend visiting family. On my way back we stopped in sit-down with family and friends for breakfast. Very pleased with the variety of food will definitely be back.
I was having a bad day so I went there on my lunch break, later worrying if I was going to be back to work in time. Service was quick, food was great, and every staff member I encountered was extremely nice and professional.
Eggs Benedict s with fried chicken on top of some waffles plus cheesy grits, Guy Fiery came to this specific location a real institution in the city of Jacksonville Florida, every single bite of this chicken was worth it with the French toast topped with strawberries

Really liked it. Got the meatloaf, usually am disappointed with meatloaf at places like cheesecake factory but metro diner knows how to do it. Woulda have 5 stars but the Mac n cheese i got was watery.
I used to love going here before I went vegan (the croissant French toast was my favorite). But now I don't have many options except for a couple of the sides and over priced avocado toast. A lot of restaurants have made the effort to offer more vegan options over the past few years and I wish Metro Diner would consider doing the same since it is such a popular place to eat. But my main reason for giving three stars is because of our server failing to properly wear a face mask when I was there last weekend. He had it tied very loosely and it was either not covering his nose or not covering his face at all. He tried to pull it up a few times but it would always slide down because it was so loose and it was pretty much off when he brought the food to our table. I was extremely disappointed, as I wish they would take face coverings more seriously since they are directly handling people's food.
From the moment I called my order in, I was impressed. The young lady who answered the phone was so courteous and patient. She answered all of my questions with kindness and helpful information. I walked in the door to pick up my orders and was greeted with enthusiasm. I had to split my payment and the ladies were helpful and continued their patience. The food did not take long to come out. I opened my box and the smell was divine. The fried chicken was juicy, but not greasy. The skin was crispy, but not burned. The waffle was fluffy, but not too sweet. Thw spicy syrup was out of this world. I would definitely go back to this location.

The staff was very nice. This was my first time at this location. I went during lunch with coworkers. We were quickly seated and the waiter came out and immediately took our drink orders. I had chicken and waffles (chicken tenders) and they were great. The waffle was nice and fluffy and the chicken was cooked to perfection. It was nice and crispy. I also had a hot chocolate. It comes in a big mug with whipped cream and chocolate poured over the top. I recommend getting it early, like when you order your drinks to avoid rushing to drink it before you have to run back to work! This location was very clean and we always had a staff member checking on us to be sure we were taken care of.

My favorite place to eat Brunch in town! The biscuits and gravy are great and the chicken pot pie is warm, delicious, and comforting!
The food was GOOD. TOO many employees standing around doing nothing & the business was extremely busy (30 minutes wait). A little annoyed that too much free flying hair around the food.

My first time here and it was so worth the wait I am not a breakfast person but I would eat this breakfast all day. Waitesss was great and the manager even came up and welcomed us being here out first time. Wonderful place.
