Love the water stations they have here to keep cool in the hot summer
The signs to find the animals arent very clear. But overall good time and beautiful animals
My little boy really liked and so did we. The park is very big and when we went it was very hot, so plan a lot of water (at least the budget for) and sunscreen. There is also a great park where children can relax and play or take a picnic.
It's family friendly. I love their mission to conserve animal's natural habitat and educate patrons about all different species. It's a cool place to go any day off the year.
I really loved the setting of this zoo. It is an absolute joy to walk around through here. However, I can't help feeling dismayed at the size of the enclosures for some of the animals.
I know that there are many animal lovers out there that would like to see zoos outright banned. I personally feel that they have an important role, but that they must focus on always improving the quality of life of the animals. San Diego, for example, provides lots of room.
The gibbons and the snow leopards struck me as the two most striking examples of small enclosures. The gibbons barely had room to jump around and the snow leopard's pool doesn't have the room for them to all play at once.
Love our little local zoo. Staff is always great. And this temporary zoo Lights show is so amazing. My family and I always enjoy this seasonal display. Kudos L. A. Zoo.
Love it and great for walking too. The exhibitions are so much better than when I was a kid. Great picnic areas too.
Nice staff, kept very clean and beautiful grounds. However, please explain the constant annoyance of bees. They just bombarded me and my daughter to the point she started crying. They're around all the trash cans...its horrible. Thank god they dont sting but its too much and extremely distracting. Why sale soda with no tops if its known bees will surround you to the point you have to leave area for safety. Scary at times...I hope this review is read and responded too...
LA Zoo lights were nice to see and it was very decorated with all sorts of colors and lights which brightened the zoo.
First time we we there with my family.
Great place to go with family.
Cool to see animals u wouldn't normally expect like the ant eater, or wild painted dogs.
Had a very nice visit. Enjoyed our day.
Suggestion:
An interactive map, for tracking your location, as you walk about the zoo, would be a wonderful addition to your website.
And, very easy to do.
Fun with lots of walking and most of the animals being pretty lethargic
A zoo with lots of different species. A must see ! However, some animals are painful to see because all alone in their enclosure, without companion. The animation with the birds is to be seen! The souvenir shops are very nice too. I loved the otters on the water slide.
The zoo also closes early. Large animals return 1 hour before the official closing time so go early.
Wonderful day anyway!
The zoo is getting better. Weekends are tough given the large crowds and kid generally running around unattended. Viewing the animals is a little difficult.
This is a great escape to take the children or to simply go for a nice walk. Well kept, nice helpful staff. Plenty to see and relax. I like the bleachers across from the Chimps...it is shaded and from time to time has student artists sketching what they see. The tram is inexpensive and recommend if it is your first trip here. There are many food options at several locations within this zoo. Wheelchair accessible throughout the park. The zoo is on hills, so be forewarned.
Zoo Lights was good, but not great. Limited lights and areas. Those lights there were neat. Expected more for what we paid. Not a good value.
I want to plan a trip here for my kids do they have lions here?
It never fails... overcrowded and most animals are in hiding.
Really nice. Saturday with my family. We got Walk around and see all these nice animals. For the for the first time since the Covid-19 started first trip to the zoo.
Large very nice elephants are not in good exhibit no African elephant
Great for the whole family, very affordable, parking is free and you can bring drinks and snacks.
it a good zoo maybe the animals are not treated nice but staff is very nice
The LA zoo is a great zoo with lots of animals. It is very spread out so it can be tough to make it through the whole thing (especially if you have little ones. It can also be a bit crowded on weekends and holidays.
Took my grandkids here last weekend. To say but was a fun day would be an understatement! They couldn't stop talking about how much fun they had. All the animals and picture taking with the kids made for a fun day. Will be heading back soon wih our other batch of grandkids!
Cool place just wish they didn't pull in the animals until after the zoo closes. I was there at 4 and all of the animals disappeared and hour before closing. Kinda lame when you're going there after work.
Great to have room to roam! As usual, lots of animals asleep. Staff was very attentive. Had a great time with the littles : )
I love all of the animals! At night there are great light shows and music! Very energetic! Nice place to visit on warm summer nights!
Went today with a group of 9. We had a wonderful time. It was 96 degrees out, but we avoided the afternoon heat by arriving early. We enjoyed a breezy morning stroll. Get your workout in!
Not crowded at all. All employees and guests were all wearing face masked for Covid19 protection and people kept their distances so I felt safe there for my family and myself. Enough food places were open so plenty to eat and drink. Food places were clean and practiced good safe distancing also all employee I saw wearing protective face masks and gloves so felt very comfortable.
The zoo was fantastic plenty to see. All exhibits were not open due to keeping the public and animals safe from covid19 however can spend 2 days there and not see everything. I would take the shuttle in the Zoo as soon as you get there as we did because this helped us see more of the Zoo and gave use a visual lay out so we can find our way quicker when we were on foot. The shuttle has open air cars and spacing is every other bench seat, and only same family is to sit in the same bench seat row. Also I noticed that the shuttle is sanitized after everyone gets off before new riders get on so we felt safe riding the shuttle. Its also a whole day pass and cheap. In all we had a great time lots of awesome animals to see.
We are going again soon to see what we missed! Sorry not many pictures on my phone, my wife took them all on her camera.
Nice walking, not many people. The zoo overall is in need of a refresh. I think by todays standards, most of the enclosures are undersized. Still its nice to wander through and gives kids a chance to experience a variety of animals.
Very informative staff, heard some fascinating stories. You can tell they really care about all the animals there. Great for tourists, the map helped navigate with ease and allow us to make all the talks/feedings.
Zoos are nothing more than prisons. Don't agree, try going in the old cages at the old zoo in Griffith park and see how it feels.
Fun day with our son and his wife and three children 1 year old, 4 years old and 6 years old.
Love the service very friendly workers, clean place, and delicious food. this is a nice place to spend a weekend.
It is an amazing experience to see and learn about all these exotic animals and the staff their are very helpful
It was nice to walk around and visit animals and see how they react to you my favorite were the giraffes. One was so cute when I said, "Hi Sweetie" and it turned it's head and looked at me for the perfect picture.
Good place to take.the kids, but most animals were either hiding or were not out. But the world of Birds show was good for the family
It was a nice place to spend the day for my daughter's 1st BDay.
Hardly any animals out! Hard to find water or snacks to buy and the restaurant that's in the front stops serving like 2 hours before the park closes! Sucks because me and the kids were super hungry! If they work on this it will be a great place.
Nice zoo, some displays closed, but overall great day.
I generally love animals so every zoo I've been to so far I've loved and this one is no exception!
Great zoo, and animals appear spoilt. Crowds were an issue when we went, which sort of dulls the day a little. Would recommend visiting
I had a really good time at the zoo, i loved see the animals and the food there was great, and the scenery was great for taking pictures. Overall my experience was really great and i loved it and will for sure come again
staff are friendly! welcoming you as soon as you walk in.
Its huge. Beautiful. A great place to spend time with family.
My daughter and granddaughter and I really enjoyed the zoo today
