I cannot believe the LA Zoo would be this aweful!! the animals are ALL sleeping or bored out of their minds, the exhibits are basic cages, not a lot of variety of animals, and you cant even see a lot of the animals 90% of the time because they're hiding from the heat, or the animal died and they never replaced it. If you want an AMAZING zoo experience and u happen to be in Toronto, Canada: check out the Toronto zoo!!! if you consider the LA Zoo a zoo, Toronto zoo will blow ur mind.

We had such an amazing time at the LA Zoo! They take such great care of their animals! The Angela Collier Bird show is a must see, and the trainer talks going on in the zoo at different times throughout the day are very interesting and a learning experience for young and old. Staff is friendly and will make you feel welcome and appreciated. Restaurant-wise there is differently themed restaurants throughout the park, so there's something for everyone. Great, great place. Keep it up, LA Zoo!

We bought the family pack for about $160, 3 adults and I dont remember how many children. So worth it, you get 2 free guest passes and free rides on the train. Anyhow this is a great place to come, I love the zoo.

We came for the Christmas lights event and we had a really good time. We found Groupon tickets so we got in for a good price. You could only access a few areas of the zoo at night so don't expect to see many animals. It was pretty chilly, so we warmed up in the reptile house. We loved the water/lights show and the lighted tunnel at the end was fun.

The zoo was great.. Beware of bees.. Two of my sister's got stung.. But the zoo was helpful and provided numbing sticks and first aid.. The place is very wheelchair friendly.. And there are lots of places to sit and have a picnic.

The La Zoo was an amazing experience that I encountered. It was incredible to see so many animals there. It was unbelievable to have seen creatures that I once thought that I would never see. Furthermore, I truly recommend the La Zoo to any tourist or family that plans to have an incredible day.

It's a very nice zoo.

It's a very nice zoo.
I think it's the best place to bring children up to elementary school who like animals. It's a public facility, so it's not as business as the zoo in San Diego.
The entrance fee is reasonable, and I personally prefer this zoo.
You can take a closer look at the animals and walk around. I think that the atmosphere of walking in the woods and seeing animals according to the theme of the area is very similar to Fukuoka City Zoo, Hirakawa Zoo, and Asahiyama Zoo. However, the scale is different. We recommend that you take plenty of time for half a day and go slowly. Tickets can be purchased online in advance.
(Coupons will make it a little cheaper)
It is recommended to go at 10 o'clock because the parking lot is vacant.
Parking is free.

The zoo has changed so much since I had last been there. It's a good change, though. I took my sister here for her birthday and she absolutely loved it. As long as you can get past the expensive food, you'll have a blast!

I remember it being so hot when I was little but they've added a lot of trees so it's very nice to stroll around. Great exhibits, kids love it & they serve beer as well as the best veggie burgers around.

We love going ..but the only thing I noticed and it should be cleaner for the animals..make it more home like for them .. that is why we are investing when we go .. hoping the money that is the customers pay can be used for the care for the place these poor animals live ..

The picture featured for this place is the more modern L.A. Zoo. The old zoo looks nothing like the feature picture. A popular photo destination, I found the old zoo a little creepy. It is littered with graffiti and is unsafe after dark.

Aside from the graffiti, it is interesting to see the original caves animals used to live in. I am glad that the old zoo exists because it is an important piece of history on the treatment of animals.

Our little one loved the place. The animals seemed well taken care of and the zoo was clean. The staff were friendly and professional. We were able to see most of the animals in action. They also have shows with variety of animals, check the schedule so you can plan accordingly. The layout is a little awkward with steep climbs so read the map carefully, else you will end up going in circles, climbing up and down. Heard the weekend is extremely crowded so if you can, plan to visit during the weekday.

So many beautiful and inteeresting animals.. I love and hate Zoos. Love the learning and the life experience for the children, but hate to see anything in a cage. Its not right, and that animal has to mentally and physically pay the price for that... but like I said it is sure something special to show these living breathing animals in their somewhat natural type habitats to your children and see them so excited to learn about them.
Very large venomous snake collection. Giraffes are FANTASTIC and the Flamingos smell really bad. Beware.

I really did enjoy the Los Angeles Zoo. I try to make it a point to visit every Zoo Everywhere I Go. Because I think that it is a great thing to support your local zoos that take care of animals that someday could be no longer more walking the Earth.
I just feel that everyone should always visit a zoo all the money in the proceeds go to taking care of the animals and it's a great way to see animals that you never get to see up close unless sure in a control environment
