Love this zoo, it s small but they have a NICE variety.
A really nice zoo. Animals are close. They are able to get big crowds through.
Great zoo... Good condition. Variety of animals to see.
This is a great place for the family to enjoy and learn about the animals that still a live in our world.
Lots of animal, just wish they were more lively i have been to other zoos where the animals had more energy, in fairness we did go late in the day they might have been tired. Also be ready for a lot of walking and alot of hills. Everything is stroller accessible but its alot of hills
Good walking with mild hills. Saw animals here that aren't at other zoos. Prices are reasonable on food and quality was okay. They offer vegetarian options at restaurants. Offer AAA Discount. Overall a good experience.
Went to the night lights event. First time at the zoo in years. Lots of fun for the family.
It was an experience, very hot.. I didn't see anything that was entertaining.. I've been to a few Zoos and they were more exciting Then this LA Zoo
Don't go when it's extremely hot outside and you'll have a much better time.
Great place to take the kids to get them out of the house on a fun educational trip. Reccomend getting the yearly pass this way if you dont get to see everything you can come back as many times as you need to, and you can bring along a few of your kids friends to enjoy the experience and it free
Zoo lights was nice. Scored some tickets foraboit $12. Kids had fun. Got to see the amphibians which we usually ignore because of the big animals. Lights were beautiful. Many places to take beautiful pictures. You will not get to see lots of animals as they are sleeping and areas of the zoo are blocker but it's something different to enjoy at a reasonable price. We did see reindeers. Little one enjoyed the twinkle tunnel the most.
Great day at the zoo. Really nice and clean. Lots of animals out playing, not so many monkeys and elephants. Otherwise it was a beautiful day.
I enjoyed this zoo. Saw lots of animals and a couple shows. The bird show was awesome. It s old but the staff was friendly and they allow outside drinks in. The grounds were clean.
This is my mom's and I favorite place ever...both seniors and we still go to hike through all the beautiful trails adoring wild life. Plenty of places to sit and relax. Great time every time... Thank You.
Checked out the holiday lights at the zoo. Nice charitable event for the family. Unfortunately it didn't involve any animals and the food and drinks were very overpriced.
Great experience. I would recommend to visit the great apes part and Australian animals
I love to go to the L.A. Zoo because it is fun to explore, discover, see, animals and the employees are cery nice, the food is expensive but good and worth it
Great time! My 18 month old loved it! It's not as big as San Diego Zoo but its actually a good thing cause the animals are easier to see. There exhibits are on the small side so you will most likely get to see all of them. Not crowded when we went on a Friday. We will definitely go again!
What can I say, the experience was great. Started at the Condor explore area and our little ones enjoyed the scavagender hunt. They also pretended to be a doctor, which they loved since they enjoy time playing. The weather was great and the bird show was a so much fun and of course our little ones gave a dollar to the bird to contribute. The marry-go-round was relaxing and the cost is $3.00 per child and adults were free with child. The petting area for goats and sheep's was out little one's favorite encounter.
Love this place. Been coming here since I was small and now I take my family to it and have a blast! Yes it does get full, packed and it can be a bit of a hassle, but hey it's a great place and has alot to see. The only thing though that I wish they would change is the food. Hm not really sure if it's all of the food places in there, but some just really need to make it waaaaay better and may be less expensive. Lol...
You could look at animal pictures on Google and not have to waste money
It's a great time to visit the zoo. With the cooler temps, the animals are more active.
Bring comfortable shoes for the long walk and sunscreen if you're white.
The Zoo is nice, but even with a map the pathways are confusing. The animal exhibits don't have as much enrichment as many other Zoos I've been too. However, most of them have pools or waterfalls, which is really nice. The plants along the walkways are fantastic.
I came over there with three of my kids they told me I need to wait outside for 3 hours in order to go in
Boys had fun.. Got there a bit too late to see the Gorilla, Orangutans, and the Bears. But they did see the chimpanzees and they were clapping at the boys..
It is beautiful place, but I expected more animals there
Zoo is nice but, its old, animals have limited space,
My first time near and it seemed like all the animals with sleep the giraffe was very photogenic but I wish most of the Emma's was up and moving
Great to be Able to Visit Again. But it would be Great if More people would Respect the Covid Guidelines. Security should be Present throughout the zoo to Enforce Them.
Great place to spend with family, freinds or by yourself. Fun place to relax and spend the day.
Nice local zoo... not as big as its more famous cousin in San Diego.
Nice zoo. Not as grand as SD, but still good for the community.
I luv the tigers I wish they had my favorite white tiger
You get to see so many animals. I do recommend to preplan what you want to see. It takes some time to navigate the whole zoo
Beautiful exhibits. Engaged volunteers, who clearly love and care about the animals. Feeding the giraffes was the best!
This place is nicely decorated during the holiday season. Me and my boys had a great time at the LA zoo today. Almost all of the animals were out and about moving around in their enclosures. The LA Zoo is a fraction of the size of the San Diego Zoo so you can easily get through the entire park in under 3 hours.
I love the walk, animals, and believe it or not the smell.
We visited the old original LA Zoo where you can actually walk into the old enclosures where the animals were. There's also some amazing views
Right now its appointment only but the lack of crowds makes it the perfect time to go...
First of all: free parking! I love taking my little one here. The animals don't always look the happiest but there's a good variety to peruse. As with most zoos, there is a lot of walking so wear comfy shoes.
It is a fantastic place to take children. There is something for everyone! The animals looked healthy and very well maintained. We had a wonderful and blessed experience taking our family there.
Great for the whole family. I took my kids there frequently when they were young and now that they are in high school we just went and also had a great day together. It s just the right size-you can see it all in a day. And parking is free!! Even though the parking lot was full the zoo itself never felt crowded. They allow you to bring your own food even big coolers and have a lot of picnic tables at entrance. We bring our own lunch and then always get a treat-they have yummy treats.
They need to have more novel animals there is nothing out of the ordinary
I used to be a member of the zoo and hope to be again in the future. For such a small zoo, it has a remarkable selection and is laid out very nicely considering all the hills the designers had to deal with, which is why this is a great place to come for a brisk walk for exercise. You'll occasionally see either escaped or temporarily released animals, such as monkeys, in the trees, and the aviary is good for burning several hundred calories. My one complaint is that some of the enclosures are pitifully small, like that of the jaguar.
The botanical gardens (between the animal enclosures throughout the zoo) are nearly as fascinating as the animals; there are many shady areas, making the hot summers more bearable, though ice cream helps, too. Better yet, if it's really hot, a number of eateries within the zoo serve beer, making these great places for moms to park dads.
It's very different now, it seems better than before
Very big zoo, tons of birds I would suggest going during warmer seasons since most of the animals are put away. It's a bit pricey, but we spent about 330-4 hrs here so it was wort it.
Best place to enjoy the summer and beatnik views with animals
Its a huge and very nice zoo.ive been to many zoos and this one by far is 2nd in line to the san diego zoo. The vibe the animals , everything and everyone is happy.
Love the night light during Christmas, but is to crowded and hard to go if you have children with special needs
I was shocked to learn that the elephants' areas have electrified vegetation so that it stays looking pretty but the elephants will get shocked if they do their usual elephant behaviors, such as rubbing against trees and foraging. They also have about 3 acres to roam for their entire lives whereas in the wild, elephants roam over 50 acres a day. Please don't support zoos that imprison animals.
All kids love all the animals at the zoo they will have an awesome time just wear your walking shoes and take some snacks to save some money.
Went to see the LA ZOO lights. It was fun, kids liked it. Something to see at least once. But not enough to make me go again. No animals to see, and except looking at lights not much else to do. But it was pretty.
They need to make the exhibits more presentable, many weeds blocking views and lots of dry vegetation. Many empty exhibits
Spring time, best time to visit, cool, not summer as yet, not to blistering hot.
Beautiful lights. Didn't see animals. But the lights were pretty.
