Needed more help at lunch times. Long wait to order, someone else brought the food, late checkback, and long time to cash out. Same thing for the table next to us.

A favorite brunch spot, try their alcoholic/ caffeinated drinks!

The server was nice and friendly. But my lemon drop martini was so watered down. The French Onion Soup was bland....and oh, they had a TRUMP RALLY, live and in living color (a sea of red).

Price too high!
I only order tea.

Its been a love/hate relationship. Management is very attentive, as are most of the servers. I love the live music they have on weekends and theyre accommodating on what they have on their tv's. Shoutout for throwing on a Dbacks game. Thank you guys for feeding a sailor a taste of the homelands.

Fine scene for tasty British food. I will be back with my relatives. Menu is like a place in San Francisco I loved.

The fish and chips here make you think it's a fish and chips restaurant. They are that good.

Just had lunch here and it was an awful experience. Took about an hour to receive our food, they were not busy ( only 4 or 5 tables occupied) and when we did receive our food it was cold.
Finished and paid and were about to leave when we saw the manager, spoke to her about our visit and she did absolutely nothing to help us or apologize for our awful visit. Safe to say, we will not be coming back here again.

Food was actually pretty good. But it was dead at lunch time. Probably better for a soccer match or evening drinks.

Very good food. Very kind and efficient staff. Timely service, and not pushy about drinks (some places try to really get you to try something even when you say no thank you). My toddler was asleep and they kindly seated us in a slightly quieter room so he could sleep. In and out in less than an hour.

Amazing Pub style food. If youve never had an Irish Breakfast shot, you should try one here!

Wish I could rate lower than 1 star. Waited over 40 minutes to be seated after seeing others that came after me seated first. Was sat immediately after I walked back up to the host stand which made me feel like I was waiting for nothing. Especially when the manager saw a group twice the size of mine sat before me and acknowledged that I was on the list before them then walked away and did nothing. After I was sat I waited for 20 minutes and was helped by no one before I decided to leave and eat elsewhere. I would blame it on them being busy but there were multiple empty tables and I saw employees standing around doing nothing.

Super Cold Guinness and Beer! Had the Ruben sandwich and it was great! They have darts as well. Love this place!

Friendly service. Order didn't show, had to get up and check on it after 30 minutes. Good food, good drinks.

british food at this location - super good. Certainly worth a return visit. It has a nice interior.

Glenburg Chicken: Closer to soup than pot pie. Not creamy or savory but instead had unpleasant tangyness.

Shepards pie: Okay but lacking flavor.

Service: Server seemed a little cold.

Environment: Clean and generally pleasant

Reservation: Used system offered via Google Maps which does not appear to work.

We enjoy spending time here because the service its great, food and drinks are very good too! Nice place to chill and have a couple of drinks

Wish they would bring back some of the good food selections they used to have like the steak. The service was terrible but almost always seems to be when I go.

Tough for me to give bad reviews. I m a believer that people go to work to do there best. If you have a British pub and you run out of British beer someone dropped the ball. I don t go to specialty restaurants for Budweiser. Waitress acted like it was no big deal and that it happens all the time.

This place has great food and knowledgeable wait staff! I can't complain about the local beer selection either.

I've been to several lion and the rose puns here in San Antonio including this one on multiple occasions the food and the drink is almost always good but the service can be a little hit or miss. You get a good server one time and it's top notch and then the next not so much. I think a chunk of this is down to management. For instance my last visit to this location is was with a large group that had reserved the back room, we had about 40 people and the management assigned one waitress and the new apparently assigned her 4 other tables on top us. Needless to say it didn't end well. We ended up waiting almost 30 minutes for checks and several people's food was just wrong. The waitress didn't handle it well but at the end of the day that was really on the management. They had no one step in to help her even after it was clear she was in trouble.

Great place to relax and enjoy a brew. Service and food was outstanding. Highly recommend this place.

If you like sports and drinking this is your place. If you want food, avoid it. First visit had the beef skilet, robery beef wirh 3000 calories of unnecessary whatever. Stoped a second time to watch a game and thought be safe with ckicken with pene pasta. Asked waitress for "al dente" pasta , she had no clue what it was. After I explained she said it won't be a problem. Pasta was a horrible "mush" with invisible chicken. $15. Like I said , eat somewhere else before you meet friends to watch a game and have a drink.

Everything is so good... the food is awesome, the ambient is so chill and relaxing. The bartender Stacy is the best! She's so cool and always checking if you are OK! She is the best! I'm definitely coming back soon!

Best place to eat at the Rim. Our waitress Brittany was wonderful and toke great care of us. Defiantly loved this place. Our food was AMAZING and the environment was very fun and energetic.

We ordered bread pudding with ice cream, and then got no ice cream. Server was asked again, and she forgot. She finally brought it out. She said she would comp the ice cream. That was fine. Then we ordered more drinks and then I saw a little German cockroach crawling on the seat behind my friend's head. I was disgusted. We flagged down our server again, she went to get a manager. No one came back after 15min of waiting. We left. I'll be calling to get the pub inspected.

We arrived here a little before 12am, there was a line upon entering the door. We waited in line because it seemed that people were putting their names on the list. The hostess was frazzled and noone really seeming to help her out. Groups were walking in and seating themselves, employees were wearing mask and the dj constantly reminded everyone to stay 6 feet apart. Alot of people did not have on mask and were walking freely in and out. At a out 1230a we finally made it to the hostess station (there was only 3 groups ahead of us). The manager walked over and i thought maybe he would help us. He didnt even acknowledge us, not even a someone will be right with you. Nothing! He was more concerned it seemed like locking the doors(however they dont close until 2am). The hostess finally came back and then told us there was a waitlist (mind you noone was waiting outside and there was literally 2 people behind us) and that they were closing in an hour and a half and werent seating anymore people. We stood there for 30 minutes and NOONE said anything. We drove in from out of town 4 hours away, found a place near our hotel and thought it would be nice and different. I guess last night just wasnt the night to go.

Had my birthday here last week. Our server Aurora was very attentive. Great atmosphere and quality food.

The fish and chip were great large portions and fresh. Also had the black and blue burger it had a good amount of blue cheese that I usually see being skimmed on by other restaurants.

Nothing great. Was really busy when I went and we waited a long time just for an appetizer

Update: Was here this past weekend. Everything was fantastic.

I will start off by saying that the food was fantastic and really took me back to my last trip to England. However they can't make a Bloody Mary to save their life. I should have sent it back and they don't make espresso martinis. The wait for the drinks and food to come to our table was long. I would expect more considering of the location and all the other eateries around.

Great time. Madison took good care of us and the food was great!

Terrible service, we were there 20 minutes at our table and nobody ever came to our table, we even went to the bar and they still didn't look at us. Worst service I've ever had

We ended up at Lion & Rose because the restaurant next door had a hefty wait. We got seated right away at this establishment, however, that seemed to be the only good thing about this place. Our server took forever to take our orders for anything; drinks, appetizers, food. And then the food took forever to come out. It was mediocre and the bacon dip was extremely plain. My boyfriend is very patient so him being completely fed up with the wait even for our ticket was about right. I highly suggest just waiting for the surrounding restaurants. The 45 min you d wait to be seated would be how long you wait for your food at this place anyway. Might as well be worth it where you get better service.

Very nice and long happy hour (lasts until 7pm!) We stayed for dinner and Desrae our server was delightful. Looks like they have Darts. Poker Tues/Thurs. Karaoke and other fun activities each day of the week. We will definitely be coming back!

Atmosphere is really nice, it feels like a special place. On top of that the food was great. The service was a bit lacking and I wish there were a few more TVs in easy to watch places

Tina, a manager....horrible!!!!!! Unprofessional. And to top it all off found out 2 days later they had charged my friend with us a $80 tip on credit card instead of thier $8! He had to drive back over and she didn't even apologize for it. Just gave him the refund and said mistakes happen! Wth???

Great Food, Great Place. Fish and chips are my favorite. So good. I highly suggest the Bread Pudding with ice cream.

So today 11/11/18 my best friend and I visited this location in the Rim and the service was exceptional. Mariah was such a good waitress, so knowledgeable, helpful, and VERY bubbly. She was very refreshing to our day. Thank you very much!

Wow, great food, had the curry chicken. The food was spicy but not over powering. Kings pudding for dessert. Overall good!

My daughter and I were here for a house-buying seminar and they served us a sampler platter that had sliders, chicken strips, cottage fries, battered, deep fried onions, and fried calamari. Everything was really good and was served with a quad of different house-made sauces. I also had a chance to look at the menu and they have plenty of scrumptious-looking British fare which I plan on trying on a return trip.
L&R has a huge variety of different beers on tap and I had an Angry Orchard. It was served very cold and bubbly, two things that I absolutely love in a draft beer. The wait staff was friendly and very attentive and we never had to wave anyone down. They also have plenty of big screen TV's for watching the game. I'm going to take my husband with me next time I go!

We've seen this place multiple times and always hear the great jams playing, we've finally decided to stop here. It was a great choice. Our waitress (Brie) did a great job, she was tentative to all our needs and let us have the time to enjoy our food and company. I ate the turkey BLT which was delicious and my girlfriend got the breakfast burger which she highly enjoyed. Great place to eat, I highly recommend this place and Brie as a waitress.

british food at this spot - great. Loved this place from the first taste. I've had nothing but great experiences here and will keep coming back. Bring your appetite because portions are filling.

This is the best The Lion & Rose we ve ever been to. Superior service, great live music, and the layout and atmosphere was modern and sleek but cozy with a great mix between traditional pub and sports bar a step above the rest. They also have a lot of events like Geek trivia night and poker and dart tournaments. Can t recommend highly enough. We ll be coming back!

The owner is a cold-hearted witch I I wish I had gone elsewhere with my hard earned money. She actually threw trash in my drink super weird, don't recommend.

The vibe here felt like an upscale pub. It is good for a night put with friends and they have room that can used for events. The service was remarkable.
