The Lazy Trout Pub Review

A great place to visit on a day out. Not likely to be somewhere I would go regularly. It was quite busy when I visited so others might have a different opinion. A mediocre menu on a4 paper and someone forgot to turn the heating on. On the positive side the cask ales are good and it's a lovely building.

Up to its expected high standard. Courteous and efficient staff. Car park unsurprisingly had not one free space.

We eat here every few weeks. Great staff, good food, at a fair price. Just a little to warm if you are sat near one of the fireplaces.

This place has a cosy feel to it, esp in colder months as there is an open fire/stove. Good selection of cask beer, lager and wine available at the bar. Visited many times and the food has always been good with decent portions. Staff were attentive and pleasant.

Lovely setting next to some great walks. Service and food are both at the top end of pub dining. The chips are not frozen and are superb. A fantastic way to end a day walking is pop in here and destroy a pie, the cornflake chicken burger is also worth an honourable mention.

Visited twice within a week and the food was excellent both times. Menu isn't huge but there's enough choice for all. Every plate looked great, especially the fish and chips. Excellent setting with great views from the car park and outdoor seating area. The fires keep the place warm and there's a great atmosphere throughout.

Good food. Nice service but we were seated next to main door so felt very cold and were squashed in and kept getting bumped. The place had pack to many people into the pub.

After reading through the reviews we thought we would go try it out but all in all wasnt overly impressed with sunday lunch the meat was chewy veg were very hard Yorkshire pudding were burnt wouldn't visit again

Helen and I go every Friday for a meal, we absolutely love it. Staff are fantastic, so friendly and food delicious. It's like a second home.

Soup, sandwich and chips - can't go wrong. Staff were very efficient too.

It's rare now to find a pub that ticks all the boxes, but this one managed it and more. A very warm welcome in a comfortable and idyllic setting, good local beer, and the food was excellent. Our party got through pork ribs, homemade pie, a homemade burger, and the fish and chips I had where fantastic.
Well worth seeking out.

Love the pub except for Sundays tends to be lots of children knocking around the tables unsupervised

Very cosy countryside atmosphere, staff very welcoming and attentive the food was all fresh produce and cooked really well, I would definitely go back here and recommend it to anyone
