Very good quality pub food, very clean throughout and real ale. By its nature parking is restricted at busy times and can be difficult in a very large vehicle like a van or motorhome. Overall an enjoyable experience.

Following recent findings by the local authority I have reavaluated my review. It appears that hygiene standards in the kitchens have slipped somewhat so I will no longer use this establishment.

It was a nice spot to drop in and have a coffee. We stayed the weekend just up the road so this place was perfect for a rest half way around a walk. A small bar but plenty behind it, a few nice ales to pick from and plenty of seating.
Friendly staff and quick service.
Cheers!

After months of The Lazy Trout being closed (if you are reading this in the future, this was during the period of covid-19 madness), it was nice to be able to have the luxury of sitting outside drinking a beer. It was a nice sunny afternoon, the tables were safely spaced out, there was a one way system in place for safety and everyone was doing their best to give a good service, whilst remaining safe. The beer was nice (Lazy Trout stout) and the scenery very pleasant, so an enjoyable afternoon :-)

Very nice food, limited Sunday menu if you don't want a roast. Dogs are allowed but I was asked if I had a dog when I made a reservation, unfortunately a couple of dog walkers dropped in and sat at the next table to us. I like dogs and have owned several but don't like to smell them when I am eating. A lot of walkers, some with dogs and cyclists frequent but rarely in the evenings.

Stopped here for a little something to eat after a hike while on a trip with my uni. The service was great, a chill atmosphere and the food was to die for, even the chips were something else. Really good prices and perfect portion sizes

A lovely, warm and inviting pub. Went at half 4 on a Saturday afternoon after a stroll around Rudyard lake. Booked a table ahead which was a good idea as it was busy. Hearty food and good portions, can recommend the beef and ales pie. Some nice ales on. Nice atmosphere as dogs are welcome and there was a big log fire. Dece

This place is always jam packed and it's easy to see why. Although they are busy the staff are always friendly and are willing to try and accommodate you where they can. The food is just amazing and the pub has a lovely atmosphere in beautiful surroundings. Call for a reservation first!!

This is a gorgeous, quaint pub in the Leek countryside. It has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The meals are of a good standard and the vegetables are not cooked to death! If you want a very decent pub meal in Leek, then The Lazy Trout is the place to go.
