Not as good as usual....We all had fish and chips but the chips were soggy and not cooked in hot enough fat. Will try again but standards of basics like chips must be kept if return custom is desired.

Called in here after a walk up The Roaches on a Sunday lunchtime. It was very busy, we only planned on a quick drink but decided to try the Sunday dinner. Great decision...the food was amazing, service brilliant. Cant recommend this beautiful pub enough, and added bonus, it's very dog friendly!

Had a great time at the lazy trout on bank holiday weekend. Music playing, sun shining on the seats out front and a good selection of beer. Ate there later on and had cheese fondue for starter and roast pork for main. Service was great as was the food

What a gem! Takes a bit of finding but on a sunny day utterly sublime. Car park will be full so go midweek and sample a really good and very filling menu. Especially if you have been for a walk around the nearby reservoir. Craft beers, splendid views, friendly staff. You will not be disappointed...

Some years since we've been to this pub, but glad we did. It's a lovely country pub in a beautiful part of the world. The service was excellent and friendly and it's probably the best ham egg and chips I've ever eaten, won't be long before we return

Stopped here on bank holiday Monday after being up the Roaches. We sat in the back garden as we had our dog. Food was lovely, and good portions. I think the back garden could do with some TLC and a tidy up, but aside from that it was fab.

Lucky that I stopped here. Food was delicious and staff was friendly. Decent vegetarian choice, I've tried moussaka and mushroom and goat cheese burger. They serve the best chips! Deserts are also very good, sharp and crumbly rhubarb crumble. It's worth stopping or even making few extra miles to visit!

Nice village pub in Meerbrook. Just stopped off for a quick drink on our walk so didn't eat. Pub was full if people eating though, all looked nice. Has a good sized car park and seating outside.
