Lovely place in a great location. Food is brilliant, the best meal I've had in a long time. Friendly staff ensure tables are clean and service is good. Beer is great! Had a wonderful pint of Icebreaker, which is perfect on a warm sunny day. First time here but certainly not the last!

Very pleasant pub, nicely decorated and with friendly bar staff. Perhaps the ale selection is a little on the small side and there is no actual trout on the menu. Very worth a visit though if in need of a solid pub lunch.

Nice pub in pleasant village.

Nice pub in pleasant village.
Comfortable interior, good food.
Staff friendly and generally efficient.
Been a few times. Staff use electronic hand held devices to take orders and send them to the kitchen. Works perfectly if they press "send". We weren't in a rush so we all could laugh about it. Things happen.

Fab chips! This pub has recently been extended, and very nicely too. The food is generally good quality - posh pub grub - and the bar well stocked with a wide range of local ales, a good wine selection, and obviously the obligatory 347 gins. Being close to the Roaches and to Tittesworth reservoir, the pub gets pretty busy at weekends, so worth booking in advance if you're a sizable party, although I've always managed to get a seat outside.

Out of the way in the middle of beautiful countryside and the meals they serve are well worth the drive

Been here a few times just for drinks, and a couple of times for a meal. Every time I've been it's been a great experience. The atmosphere is always buzzing, even on weekday evenings. The food is great and there is a strong selection of beer on tap including various local ales. If you're planning on eating, it's definitely worth booking a table as you may struggle to get a spot otherwise, especially on the weekends.

Great place. Good food and friendly service. They have a lovely coal fire but the place never really got that warm because the main door opens straight into the bar area. You'll enjoy it - just don't sit by the door!

Great food, very accommodating even when they are busy. Staff are excellent, none of this checking how your food is every 5 minutes and to be honest, who can complain its fantastic and great value for money.
