Went here for breakfast while in town for work--the coffee is nothing earth-shattering (though definitely good), but I thoroughly enjoyed some perfectly sunny side up eggs, delicious hash browns, and buttered toast on what tasted like thick artisan bread. The building was warm on a cool autumn day; I only wish I could have stayed in the cozy atmosphere longer.
Super tasty sandwiches and well-lit place. Can be a bit noisy and hard to hear the staff call out your order when it is busy. Great options for vegetarians.
All their coffee is on point. Baked goods and morning sandwiches are always delicious, and I can never resist the croissants! Also, very friendly staff, comfortable seating.
Best sandwich in Calgary! Loved the build your own sandwich options. My side salad was fresh and delicious (beets, goat cheese, pecans & mandrin oranges over mixed greens with a lovely homemade poppy seed dressing). Had a dessert square that was also delicious and big enough to split with my husband. Prices are reasonable to boot!
Food is always good, but man, their front of house staff are not. It's really a shame, but seems to be getting worse. Hopefully the owners address this soon.
Terrific sandwiches!!! This is the place to have a custom sandwich made on a variety of incredible breads. Fresh vegetables, deli meats and the bread... did I mention the bread!? Great local spot to grab your favourite sandwich and a cup of coffee while about town.
Customized sandwiches made to order using their own daily baked bread and fresh ingredients. Makes a very healthy and delicious lunch every time. And the portions!
Counter staff is very friendly. Food quality is excellent and portion size is sufficient for the guys too! The atmosphere is typical cheery bistro-busy. The only oddity is the method of ordering a sandwich.. sheets of preprinted one-time-use paper menus and highlighter pens.. you design your sandwich using the highlight pen... the waste this generates is mind boggling.. sure the paper is recycled.. still not the most environmentally friendly approach to order processing.
Great breakfast, fantastic baked goods. Plenty of seating indoors and outside. Very friendly staff.
Great coffee and fresh baking. Less one star because parking is limited and it is very busy at peak times.
Amazing spot for brunch, busy with a good atmosphere.
I called on a Friday at 3:30pm to put an order in to pick-up breakfast catering for a meeting on the following Monday. The catering manager had left but the person that answered their telephone gave me the catering manager's name and email and told me to email the order and that they would be open at 7am on Monday so the order could be ready by 9am. When I called at 7am on the Monday morning to confirm the order, they told me they couldn't do it because I hadn't put the order in on time. I was stuck scrambling to try to feed 13 people for my 10:00am breakfast meeting. Had I been told that when I called, I would have made other arrangements. No apologies or accommodations to help me salvage the disaster. My first time requesting food from them, and my last.
The sandwiches at this place keep me coming back for more...whether at lunch or on the way to the mountains, it s one of those things that I suddenly crave! Plus, the baked goods are delicious and uber sweet, something that I love sharing with my boyfriend or friends! Love this Calgary institution!
Good place to stop for a bite to eat
they make really good custom sandwiches and have a gluten free bread option, there coffees and teas are really good as well and a decent price.
Also if you have a sweet tooth there deserters are amazing and I would highly recommend the carrot cake.
A nice place to grab a coffee and the sandwiches are huge.
Love the food, hate the 20 minute wait for a latte.
Great little place. Love the coffee, the snacks are delicious too.
The food and coffee is average. Well over priced for what you get.
Single handedly the best sandwich I ve ever eaten. And if they have their homemade Oreo cookie I HIGHLY recommend it!
Best sandwiches in Calgary, hands down. Big portions, great bread, amazing soups, and such a welcoming atmosphere. Love it.
Nice coffee spot. No one plays the piano here so I like to go there and play sometimes.
Best sandwiches the way you want it all speciality teas and coffees ! I used to walk over again and again and when I did not drive I took the bus for there soup and sandwiches
Food was nice. Small menu. It's more of a self serve place which is not defined in there advertising. You order when you arrive and also pay before recieving food or service which makes it difficult to calculate a tip. You also clean off your own plate and leave it for washing. Therefore it makes the price high somewhat.
Friendly, chill atmosphere, hearty portions (have you SEEN THE COOKIES?), but quite pricey. Breakfast and a tea cost me $15 and the hashbrowns were undercooked :( willing to give them benefit of the doubt since everything else was so delicious.
Nice little place with a good selection of squares and pastries. They have a good loose leaf tea selection and they do all of them hot or cold.
Nice place, desserts are tasty when fresh.
A tad pricey for a sandwich shop, but good food.
Not wheelchair accessible like google says,
Staff are nice.
Cozy and the wait staff are amazing. The deserts are massive and so sweet!
Used to love this place. But has gone downhill. Dry, half-sandwich with a limp little lettuce leaf and barely any turkey for 9 bucks. Major attitude from staff who make no attempt to hide their distaste at taking your order. I keep hoping for it to be better but alas Calgary has far better places now.
The sandwiches are awesome. Few places have sprouts but they do! The desserts are worthwhile. It always seems to be busy, but not so busy that you can't get in and out reasonably.
Great baked goods! Delicious espresso drinks and great service all around. Everything is made in-house and it's family owned and operated.
Incredible bakery and deli. Any difficulty parking is forgotten with the very first bite of ANYTHING on the menu!
Food and drip coffee are expensive. The baked goods are pretty tasty, maybe worth the money, but breakfast certainly isn't.
One of my favourite treat spots since 2005! Quick service, great selection of baked goods, large variety of teas and many lunch options. A must for lovers of all things sweet!
Outstanding baked goods, delicious sandwiches, hot coffee.
Came for supper and had tasty, hot soup (ham and bean), a good sized salad (asian peanut) and a wonderful bun.
Warm atmosphere.
Would offer five stars except prices are a little high.
Place is packed with exuberance & delicious food to match.... Good start to a day.
Quality has gone downhill, had the Benny s early on a Saturday- eggs were tiny and beyond over cooked with no flavour, little to no hollandaise, bacon was mediocre and scarce. Potatoes and fruit were fine, but for $15 you gotta do better.
Great coffee and huge desserts! The food is pretty good too. But the prices are a little high. $30 for a soup and sandwich combo with a coffee is a little steep for me.
Really good sandwiches, great selection of fresh baked goods.
Menu is always updated and fresh, probably my favorite hash browns in the city.
I look forward to family brunches here with the fam. The food is always excellent and usually get served in a timely fashion.
Really great sandwhiches, really cute atmosphere and really great staff!
Love this coffee shop, has lots of character, great food, great customer service, reasonable prices.
It's busy, but its worth it. Great food and drinks. The staff are really friendly too (as long as you treat them like people )
Had breakfast here and I was very impressed! Their bread is of a superior quality and tastes amazing. I ordered their cinnamon apple French toast and I was very impressed. You get 4 huge, light, fluffly pieces of French Toast and some bacon on the side for a very reasonable price. Thier dessert options looked delicious as well. I will definitely be coming back to try more!
Kettle bread is a delight! Great food, especially breakfast/brunch, and wonderful location.
I love this place - it s in my hood and typically my go to breakfast joint.
Love the potatoes and huge grilled toast. They re probably due for a Reno, but the food and service are great. Will be back!
Yummy food. Great service. So much fun for the little ones to see the selection.
Sandwhich and soup combo was so good it blew my pants off - and were not talking about tear aways
Fantastic food. Fantastic staff. One of my new favourite places to go.
Great Service, Great Food and Comfortable Atmosphere!
They definitely have wonderful dessert options but their sandwich was way overpriced. Nearly $12 for a simple build-your-own sandwich that you could make for less than $5 on your own. The rest of the menu I have no tried but based on that alone, I would not go back except for the desserts.
Really great food and atmosphere! The speciality coffees, teas, and italian sodas are amazing!
Seriously has the best chocolate cake in Calgary. I make it a point to come get some at least once a month. A little pricey for everything not baked goods though.
Cannot say enough good things about this place. Get the Nanaimo bar!
Best sandwiches I've ever had. Stuffed full of high quality ingredients, and at a decent price. The coffee is also good, as are all the deserts, and I'm told the soup is great.
Went for breakfast. Got the breakfast bun and it was pretty small for the price. Nice atmosphere and good coffee though.
They got so many delicious desserts, but last time I got salad and asked add a chicken which costed 4+$, and actually I don t think it was a chicken, tasted like ham, and I hardly could find in my salad. So I think 4+$ it s way overpriced for little piece of ham, which I think you should mention it in menu, that it s not chicken!
Mixed experiences... Great coffee but had uncooked eggs on a benedict. Didn't want to bother the staff as it was extremely busy at the time. Might give this place another shot though.
Went here for a lunch. The carrot loaf is really good. Also recommend the chocolate brownie. The sandwiches were quite good. Will be back for breakfast
Fresh sandwiches made custom the way you like. An awesome pit stop before or after a mountain adventure.
Awesome food, and the coffee is amazing. Loved my white Mocha, miles better than Starbucks.
Good is reasonably good, but overpriced. This case feels crowded right from getting in the door, even if half the tables are empty because of the way the counters are set up. You can't read the menu until you're right at the till, so this slows the line down, significantly. Needs fewer obstructions; larger, clearer text; better line layout, and better prices. I would eat there again, but it won't be any time soon.
Nice cozy place. Great coffees and pastries. Good lunch and breakfast too.
Great food and coffee in a very different atmosphere
Five star as the food is amazing. But a three star as the service is very slow.
Great service and really nice, home-made food. Cozy and warm ambience with a really intimate vibe. Nice place.
