Good food but rather expensive. Paid $22 for 2 soups and a slice of lemon loaf.
Great coffee & food! It's a busy place but there is lots of seating with a good atmosphere. A great place to have a meeting.
I was just in there this afternoon and wow! That carrot cake is dynamite!
Great place for a coffee and some treats. But their breakfast is decent too. Our faves are the cinnamon twists. Get 'em before they sell out.
Nice little cozy cafe near downtown. Good to chat, hangout with friends. Nice staff and vintage colorful kettle decors inside.
Parking is tough to find. Gets really crowded on weekends.
Very cute cafe. There was a lot more parking then I expected from that area. The staff was super friendly and accommodating during closing time.
Always great sandwiches on fresh bread and a great selection of delicious (and huge) baked goods.
It's okay. I do not find the food exciting or flavourful enough. All day breakfast would be good since that's the best they have.
Locally owned, independent bakery and cafe with great food, service and baking
Wish I had taken a picture of my Greek Salad - it looked GREAT and tasted even better!! My friend's toasted chicken sandwich was also delicious, she said!
It is the kind of place where you line up along the counter to order. Staff is very pleasant is AND efficient. This is a very busy spot unless you come on the off-hours after lunch! Parking is limited and, although it is free, your spot is only good for an hour... WORTH a visit, for sure!
Disaffected counter staff who made me feel like I was interrupting them from their standing around
A bit pricey but worth it. Soup, sandwiches and deserts are all amazing.
Weak watery coffee. Food takes a long time to come out. Prepare to wait. My soup was way too salty. Baked goods are okay.
Note that they turn off their wifi between 10AM and 4PM.
It's definitely a cozy atmosphere of locals and regulars and this is probably just because there aren't better alternatives nearby. Also a big space that can accommodate groups.
Food excellent...busy wait staff but always friendly...great place but so good it is always busy!!
The take home baked goods are fresh and delicious!
This place used to be good. It actually was one of my favourite spots, but now the staff is sullen and unskilled (the barista begrudgingly served me two of the worst lattes I've ever had). It is also extremely overpriced for the awful service and horrible coffee.
The food is pretty good here the coffees are better than average it is usually overcrowded and tough to get a place to sit but if you don't like to go to the chain stores this one is for you
My first visit to this place was years ago, and I distinctly remember leaving with a "meh" feeling, not overly impressed with the food or service and with no intentions of going out of my way to come back. I happened to be in the neighbourhood last week so thought I'd stop in and give it another chance. The food has improved somewhat - the soup was just ok, the sandwich was decent, and the baked goods were actually pretty good. However, what completely ruined the experience was the absolute middling service. To start with, the employees all had an apathetic/uncaring attitude, only providing the minimum amount of service to take and deliver an order. Now everyone has a bad day once in awhile, and I'm not looking for fake smiles and forced pleasantries - so long as they're at least doing their job quickly and efficiently to give me what I came in for, I can live with it. But the service was also slow, the food took a long time to show up, my order was screwed up, and it took an inordinately long amount of time for them to fix it. By the time they replaced my sandwich, my lunch hour had run out and I had to take it to go. There was no apology, no effort, just a 'here's your sandwich', and then another look of disapproval when I asked if I could have it immediately wrapped up, as if they couldn't believe I was inconveniencing them further. I left again with the same feeling I had years ago - no intention of going out of my way to stop by again. Maybe I'll stumble by in another couple of years - if they manage to stay open that long.
A lovely bakery/cafe with excellent beads and sandwiches. There is also a selection of soups and salads and hot entrees for lunch. They do breakfasts and desserts as well. I have yet to run in to any item that I wasn't pleased with.
I love this place. It's a great place for a meeting with someone or a good time with friends/ family. During the spring and summer months it's so nice to walk around and visit the stores in the area then walk along the river bank.
Friendly staff, great atmosphere, and comforting home style cuisine.
Pretty yummy! The prices are really Hugh but it s definitely really food and I keep going back!
Great fresh food- although the price point is high for a sandwich. I assume with their recent increase they will begin to see less loyal customers.
Nice atmosphere, lots of seating. Coffee (medium roast) was tasty despite being in a warmer. Dessert squares were fresh, well made.
The tantilizing case of baked goods is as tempting as being bribed by the frozen queen of Narnia with a Turkish delight. If I had a choice I would give my siblings up for this. Props to an incredibly talented baker.
Pretty simple delicious menu, build your own sandwich, perhaps a little pricey for what it is but delicious and always packed full of people.
Sandwiches are fantastic!! Great service, fresh food :) Also amazing croissants.
Amazing food. Just...amazing. It was really cold where we sat, but the AC was possibly aimed at our table.
Love Lazy Loaf! Staff is friendly, food is always delicious, fantastic baked goods and great coffee plus vegan options. Warm & cozy neighbourhood atmosphere.
Food is always great as well as the staff are very friendly
Some of the best "made to order" sandwiches in Cowtown
A Calgary classic. Enjoy great coffee, great atmosphere and most of all great baked goods.
They offer a selection of food items aswell (cafe classics like soups and salads).
Interestingly, very common place for police to grab a coffee. I like to choose this location as a Kijiji meet up point because of that.
Super cute little lunch spot. The food was delicious!
Huge portions of home cooked food. Trendy and popular.
Huge deserts, delicious sandwiches, great prices. I would prefer if tables were cleared by staff instead but I deal since the food is so good!
Always a pleasure to have food here, it is always great food and service!
the people at the back of the HOUSE is RUDE,the women Name Shonda , and totally discourtious she belong in jail kitchen no manner at all, I wouldn't go back in their, you wouldn't want to support ISIS behaviour treatment.
The best local coffee shop in town. The pastries and loafs are amazing and the servers are super nice.
Not the best place .owner not nice I will not recommend this place to no one who support Calgary economy. Very low quality food . After all eggs it's eggs nothing special .all soups it's full of starch and watch the fish there not sure about the meat.
Was my first time and i was not dissapointed. It has that nieghborhood cafe feel and busy on Sunday. Food is great and quick so stop in for a quick bite or to go or if you can find a table stay the afternoon
Finally found my favourite bread in town. Soup and Sandwichs were great also. Will be returning often for my loaf and lunch!
Fantastic food, fantastic service. Fresh everything! Everything you want in a personable little diner/bakery. 10/10 would recommend.
Delcious assortment of baked goods, sandwiches and soups. Great breakfast. Love all the teas and coffee. Parking can be a bit of a pain but otherwise love coming here pre/post work!
Yummy!!! Beautiful calories. Indulge! Millionaire squares, rice puffs with chocolate, lemon squares and the list goes on... you can make any crazy combination of chai latte as they have soooo many different kinds of chai. Pretty layout. As if you are in your own kitchen. Homey. Great for a visit with friends or for time off from crazy world!
Delicious baked items just like mom used to make but bigger portions . Yummy fresh made coffees etc. The breakfast food I personally found to be a bit too on the healthy side of things, I'm a greasy diner breakfast kind of guy. But if you like healthy you would probably love the food here as well. Worth checking out even if just to take some baked goods home.
Love this place. Great atmosphere. Good service. Great food.
Came here for breakfast because it was highly rated. Not really happy at all with the experience. The food was very basic and not what we were expecting for the price. Quality was similar to what you d expect from a truck stop-esque diner. $35 for two breakfasts and a tea is pretty much what you d pay at an OEB or Diner Deluxe and the quality of the food and ingredients there is vastly better than this. I could have made better pancakes and a better Benny myself without much effort. Also, the staff member who took our order was cold and aloof. Kind of gave us a dirty look and took a while to even acknowledge us. I can see this being a cool coffee shop but if you re looking for somewhere for a decent breakfast, you money would be better spent elsewhere.
Food was ok, but the open table type seating system is crazy chaotic.
Very busy on the weekends. Cheesecake was decent. Ham filled croissant was good. And the rice krispy tasted perfect - it wasn't too sweet. Definitely need to return to give it a proper rating, but it's good so far.
Apparently the lazy refers to the speed that the staff makes drinks
This place is amazing! No complaints at all I come here at least 2 a week, it is just amazing!
Great food but service was lacking. Food staggered and some items forgotten while we were there for ~ 1 hour.
The cinnamon bun was excellent and can be order with or without raisins. The breakfast sandwich on a kettle bun was just ok. I think the bun was a bit dry and they could use more flavour in the sandwich.
Fantastic food, fun setting. Reasonable prices. Just wish there was more parking
Best sandwiches in Calgary. Always fresh and tasty.
Amazing sandwiches, great coffee, wonderful staff. And the pickles are amazing!
YUMMY!!! YUMMY!!! YUMMY!!! Always busy and for a reason! Worth the wait every time I m so addicted to their soups and desserts!!!! And they re staff is always so friendly!!!
This is one of our favourite places in Calgary. Custom egg salad sandwich on feature bread with an extra side pickle? Uhm, yes please.
The food is great here, lovely ambiance, and the staff are -almost- always funny and/or friendly.
Awesome baked goods and dessert section.
Awesome kettle bread. Good soups. It's gotten pretty pricy in the years I've been going there which is why it's 4 stars instead of 5. I always buy myself some bread to take home when I'm there though!
5 stars. Was lucky enough to enjoy the eggs Benedict, hash browns and fruit bowl. Got the best grape I ve ever had in my life in the fruit bowl. A bucket list location.
Good sandwiches, soup, salads and excellent veggie lasagne.
Good coffee, tasty treats, quiet and comfortable setting. Lovely little neighbourhood cafe
Favourite coffee shop years running. Good atmosphere, great food. Recommend french toast, sandwiches and definitely baked goods. Tends to have several waves of business so can be hard to find a table but well worth the wait. Parking can be tough during peak times. WiFi turned off during peak times. Food times always prompt. Highly recommend!!
