We'll start with the positives. We had a fabulous view of the beach and love being close to all the attractions and pools. Lovely master room. And now the negatives. Because of Covid, you'll have to call to have new towels and no room cleaning. And it's quite a walk to get to the laundry area to get your laundry done. We gave up using the pull-down bed for my four year old. Too many hazards with falling over the headboard or edge of bed or my two year old possibly splitting open his head on the corner frame of the bed. We ended up putting him on the bed to sleep. Minor things falling apart like outdoor cover to AC, doorknob to room, and no working remote for master room. We started out with dirty carpet. I wish they left a vacuum or broom. We stayed all week with a sandy, dirty floors and felt like we were imposing to ask for clean towels or remote. It's been more convenient to wash clothes in bathtub and set out on porch to dry. But clothes and towels are so dirty now that I need to go take all the laundry and find the hotel laundromat. Their bedding is horrible. Bring your own blankets or throws. As for location, beware of tourist traps and no refund policies after purchasing souvenirs too. Google reviews before buying from any souvenir shop. The low of the low the worst place ever no housekeeping nothing they left us without towells and blacket for 2 days and you need to wait all day for house keeper and make a calls all day we came here in a group of 8 famillys all of us we will never come back rooms are very very dirty
The rooms were clean and check in was easy. However the restaurant service was medicore. The wait staff kept stalling when taking our order and we waited 20 mins just to place the order & an eternity to get the food... It was definitely not worth the $ we paid there so take my advise and go out of the hotel to eat. The oarkpar garage is horrible and you have to stalk people to wait for a parking spot. What really makes me write the review is the fact that we had 2 room keys that decided not to work after it took 20 mins to get a parking spot & when we finally get to the room and had to call the front desk they tell us to come downstairs to get a key, they wouldn't send anyone up with them!!! And then there was a party here this weekend so after being on a softball field all day the last thing we wanted to hear is music blasting if we would've known that I would've found another hotel
This is one of my Favorite places to stay at Myrtle. Until this weekend. They put us on a floor that they were doing a celebration and the children were yelling, screaming running and playing right at our door. We said something three times to the kids and their parents were even out there and NOTHING was done. We called the front desk. NO ONE answered. And this went on for well over four hours while we were on Vacation. We paid our money just like everyone else and this was the absolute WORST visit I ve ever experienced here. And it will be my last!
I just checked in the place today the place seems decent it has an elevator the room I rented is pretty clean but they tell you $49 and then there's all kinds of fees a cleaning fee a resort fee buyers beware
The only down side was both restaurants. The breakfast bar for 2 cost me $25 and I bought a $12 salad that was pitifully small with hardly any dressing .
12/31/18 - Literally check in and checked right back out! If I had the option I would give this dirty , smelly hotel no stars! Their were stains in our Angle King Suite bed covers, the room was outdated, it s nothing like the pictures that are being shown!! And the manager seemed rude when I asked her for a refund! Thank God the other manger was in. He politely refunded us! Kudos to him! But , I advise no one to stay at this hotel. These reviews below are accurate! You get exactly what you paid for!
I had such a wonderful time here ! The staff was helpful and courteous , lots of parking and things to do within the resort itself . They have food vendors within the resort and lots of pools ,hot tubs and lazy rivers . I was proposed to at the landmark yesterday on the beach . I highly recommend landmark to anyone ! Plus did i mention what a wonderful deal we got on a whole week vaca ?! Amazing !!!
A most basic of hotels that has to count and track the small and rough guest towels that one must hunt for while taking in one of the many pools. The hotel feels dated, from the clorine smelling hall carpets to the paint scheme. I must have arrived on a shift change because halfway into checking in they switched persons to complete creating room cards. I will say that Matthew was pleasant when going across the street to the kiddy pool area. Overall, considering the high nightly weekend rate, I had higher expectations for a "resort." It appears the best thing this hotel could hope for is a good hurricane.
I have been coming here for 15 years, I get different rooms styles. Always clean and comfortable I have always gotten the rooms that the owners have updated the total rooms. This visit was the oceanview penthouse, lovely rooms excellent stay on the 15th floor The noise from maintaince rolling laundry carts was unbearable from the king suite. But that won't stop my family and I from returning next year.
No hot water! No showers or shampoos for whole stay. Changed lock on us twice! Spray over front door do strong for one in our party that we couldn't eat dinner there as we had planned to do. Elevator orders strong also. Won't come back next year!
The staff and lobby were amazing! When we checked in for one night my first thought walking down the hall was "seriously". We were on the 3rd floor and the halls and room looked outdated. Our door looked like someone tried to pry open the door and our latch would hang up. The room wasn't very appealing though it looked as if they had tried to update parts of the room others lacked updating. The pool was what grossed me out. When we were swimming they were dirty and had stuff floating in them and the water looked murkey. Not saying it was the worst but it could Use some TLC.
This is the third time we have stayed at Landmark. For the most part it is great. It is right on Myrtle Beach, the outdoor pool is heated and there are multiple indoor spas. Everything in the roim worked. It was not as clean as I would have liked and this visit we had some scary neighbors. The guy next door had someone pound loudly on his door at 3 am two mornings in a row. We will definitely stay here again as there is no place this nice for this price that we have found.
Room was kind of dingy. Pillows were flat. We were supposed to have an oceanfront room but wasn't quite what we got. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.
My family and I had the misfortune of staying at this hotel from 7/5 to 7/7. We purchased a groupon at 450.00 for just 2 nights. During our stay, we encountered a number of unsatisfactory issues. First, I would like to say the indoor pool area was great for the family with the new renovation. Upon arrival Groupon had an issue with stating interior room when I bought an ocean side view room. We were very understanding per the hotel was booked due to holiday. Second, There was an odor when we entered the room. We were directly at roof of indoor pool area which had trash right in front of our balcony and cigar and cigarettes left over in a non-smoking room.We were exhausted from drive coming in from Atlanta and rooms were totally booked at that point. Third, Saturday July 6th we were told to get outside of hotel due to an emergency evacuation on our floor due to possible fire. Staff was super professional and got us down the stairs safely. We had to stay outside for 2 hours. Guests around us were speaking of someone dying and your hotel didn t want to alarm guests and we were very appalled. Fourth, We woke up Sunday morning for check out to pack and leave at 3am and we saw white hard pieces on carpet in different areas... I look up and notice it is coming from ceiling. These ceiling pieces were also on the bed where my 2 kids sleep. Unacceptable. This is a health hazard and I was extremely upset. I called down to front desk to let them know what I had seen and checked out of our stay. Fifth, I ve reached out by phone to the hotel every single day and have left 3 messages with no return call. No resolution or explanation one week later now... I hope you agree with me that this type of service and health hazard is completely unacceptable at so many levels. It is not the kind of stay I would have expected. I am very disappointed from this experience.
The room was very large, two toilets and three beds as well as two different sections of the room so if your with someone else you can both have different rooms in the same hotel room, there are lots of pools in it and it has very easy access to the beach, however, outside of the rooms had this weird putrid smell, the elevators also had the smell, when on the elevator I could see cockroaches outside of the elevator, and the elevators were rusting on the inside. So it was okay, the room and location was good but everything outside of the room was not.
Room was clean and weLL kept. Parking was very difficult to find if you aren't familiar with the area. Hotel staff was always nice. But my biggest complaint is that the water in their hot tubs and pools that are indoor and supposed to be heated were not heated at all. We were there over a very cold weekend and the weather wasn't good enough to visit the beach unfortunately. So my kids were extra disappointed when the water was too cold to even swim in. The indoor pool area didn't seem to have any tempatur control either as it was very cold in the pool area also
Dumpster fire of a hotel. Needs renovations bad. So bad I joked with my fiancee that she is gonna get pimped out there. Our experience reflected the decaying atmosphere we found ourselves in. The first room the toilet constantly ran, the bathtub backed up where you dont know if you was taking a bath or shower, and renovations were happening next room over sounding like a nascar pit crew. The second room also had the noise happening next door prompting another move to a room that turned out to have a defective bed that one might think they are sleeping in the floor. The consolation that they gave? Free breakfast. Free breakfast that tasted like leather. Honestly, they could have done better than that. And our complaints reflected as such. They ended up giving 10% of our money back, and giving an ocean view room. However, with all the hassle to even get to that level of service, I recommend going elsewhere.
Good place to crash for two nights. The pool was awesome. Just wish the heated lazy river had been tiled or something. My sons big toes got ripped up pretty bad. My knee got cut up and my boyfriends pinkie toe broke in the pool. Please keep a good eye and be careful. Other then that the only other bad experience was getting batteries for the TV remote. It took them a day and a half to get them.
Great place to bring the family. Not the nicest hotel on myrtle beach but a wonderful family friendly resort. You really don't have to leave the resort to enjoy your myrtle beach experience!!!
The resort itself is very out of date and extremely dirty. Dirty walls, dirty blue carpets with big dark stains in hallway. The elevators were very stinky and dirty. The hotel amenities were a plus like the pools and game room. My updated Airbnb was the best thing in the resort
With the name landmark resorts I would think it would have a better appearance . It was like we were staying in a motel . The rooms were shaggy and smelled . The beach was disgusting , just a bad experience. And anyone who Comments saying otherwise must be use to the area or work for the company . don't be fooled by the pictures on their website go on YouTube and type landmark and see how the hotel really looks. although the workers were nice .
We stayed on the 12th floor. The rooms nor hallways were even close to being called clean. They looked and smelled very worn out and abused. Cleaning service never came around. I'm guess they pay to of a low wage to get help or quality help. We shall never be back. Wish you the best of luck if you are planning a trip there. Make sure you bring your own cleaning bucket and supplies.
My stay here was pleasant. From previous reviews I didn't expect much but I was pleasantly surprised. What I didnt like is they gave us a calendar with events happening at the resort and I showed up for a couple of them and nothing seemed to be going on, no problem I just enjoyed the many pools and the beach. Housekeeping didn't come the second day but I didnt mind I just found it odd. We had an ocean view room 925 and I really enjoyed that. It was equipped with a mini kitchen(no stove microwave only). It had plates, bowls, glasses and silverware. Bedding and towels all looked fresh. The room was pretty cool all in all but the walls could use a little wipe down in places. I hung out in the Lattitude bar a couple of times and loved bartender Amy Sue! Try the pizza, gator bites and the bucket drinks all where delicious! I'd stay here again. #Happyguest
This "resort" as it's called is no better than a cheap motel when it comes to the room you have paid to rent. For the price they charge, you would think you would at the least get some very nice accommodations. That isn't the case here whatsoever.
The problems here aren't the accommodations, if you can believe that, the biggest problem here is some of the staff. We should have known what our stay was going to be like from the moment we stepped into the lobby to be honest but you never know what may have upset a particular person, but the first thing we witnessed was a person angrily demanding thier money back.
We decided to check in and proceeded to our room. We had no trouble with the front desk staff at this time. They were very polite and accommodating.
Upon entering the room it was immediately apparent that it was outdated and totally run down. We decided to just go with it and do our best at enjoying our beach vacation.
I was traveling with a very disabled person who requires a wheelchair, etc.
Our trip was reasonable up until the hotel was hosting the Shriners convention. What a nightmare that we of course were not informed of whatsoever. From drunk men packing the hallways, the ridiculous amount of noise and the fact they took over every single handicapped parking space with thier motorcycles, parade floats, etc. it turned into a nightmare for us.
We first approached security, (if you can call it that) security is a geriatric gentleman who would not help us whatsoever and outright told us that the Shriners get to do what they want during the convention. We next went to speak to a manager there named Sherman. We never got that far as a man who identified himself as "Joey" told us we wouldn't be allowed to speak to Sherman and that he was Sherman's boss. We then explained to "Joey" that all of the legally handicapped spots were occupied by Shriner vehicles and they are certainly not authorized to occupy handicapped spots. Joey also refused to help us in any way. I have photographic evidence of these vehicles occupying handicapped spaces.
The front desk does however have one shining star and that is Deltina. She is a very pleasant young lady and although she had zero power to help us ,thanks to this Joey character, she was very sympathetic to our plight and did her best to reccomend things and cheer us up.
I will also say what a treat it was to eat at the Latitudes restaurant. The bartender and wait staff were totally awesome and the food was spot on.
As for Sherman, we eventually did track him down in the hope of him assisting us but alas, after confronting him in the Latitudes restaurant, he slipped behind the kitchen doors and disappeared, never to be seen again. What a great management team you have !
I hadn't planned on putting my review in multiple places on the internet but after filling out the satisfaction survey over and month ago and not a single contact from your hotel , you can bet this is going on every travel site I can find.
Thank you Landmark for taking a possible last beach vacation ever with a very sick, disabled person and ruining it while charging us an exorbitant amount of money to do so.
Trust me, you won't get the chance to do it again.
Was here for a short weekend trip. The hotel felt...oogy. Nothing about the place really felt clean. The elevators took forever and always had water on the floor from the pools. The room felt 'sterile'. My room was all tile while most of the other rooms I went in were carpetted. And the floor in our kitchen was kind of greasy too, which wasn't very appealing. The halls all around the hotel were super dirty and there were flickering lights all over the place. And all the pools felt dirty. Overall, the place felt outdated and dirty, and felt like no mind was paid to how clean and comfortable the whole hotel was. Definitely not my first choice to stay.
Been coming 2 landmark for 17 yrs. I've noticed the spa pool tiles have changed colors from white 2 brown. The refrigerator had spills n it. There was dried ketchup on carpet behind dinner table.
For one, this place is defiantly not a "resort"! Don't let them fool you! Its old and run down. The rooms are disgusting! Hairs every where, even in the bed sheets. The top cover smelled like it hadn't been washed in months. I was so disappointed. Please don't waste your time or money! I wish someone would have told me before I wasted my vacation days! I even tried to get the rude manager "Tyler"s last name and he wouldn't even give it to me. Staff, rude. "Resort", disgusting. All around shame! :(
It was cool. The bathroom could've been cleaned better some of the towels/washing cloths we received had some brown fade marks on them. Front lobby smells awesome, everywhere else..., not so much.
I know you're looking at reviews to decide if you're going to stay here or not but trust me, don't! Terrible customer service, I paid for an ocean view with 2 queen beds, they gave me side view and 2 full sized beds. The room and bathroom are both disgusting, there was mold in the shower and the pictures on their website are definitely not updated. Never going to even consider staying here again.
I will never stay at this resort again. They really need to renovate this place. The rooms are very dated. Also I was told several times that I could request an ocean view room when I got here and when I did they wanted me to pay more money. The beds are very comfortable and the sheets and towels are horrible. I requested additional towels and when they brought them too me they were still damp. And what hotel puts small TVs in the room? This has to be at least a 24in, definitely not a 32, smh! I could go on but this post would be lengthy. Oh yeah the carpet through out this place is horrible.
They STOLE $463 from my bank account and still have not refunded the money. I paid IN FULL online when I booked the room. Al I owed when I got there was $78 for fees and taxes and then $100 security deposit should of been held. Well they charged me $271 and some change and then today NO refund but instead charged my account $192 and some change. All I should of paid was $78 and then the $100 deposit. They STOLE $463 and change.
This hotel was good. The rooms were older but clean. The view was awesome. There were many pools and things to do. We enjoyed our visit. The customer service at the front desk was amazing as well.
The room is nice and big. There are 2 balconies which is nice and the beach hasn't really been too crowded. However the elevators are old and have no a/c and it takes forever to get one to stop for you. Also when we took the stairs in the parking garage to avoid the elevator there was no door handle to 2A so we had to go back down and take the elevator up. Its a little dated but its clean and convinient. It just needs some updates maybe
I've heard some questionable reviews on the Landmark Resort but I must say that we had an excellent time visiting friends. I am from the area and would recommend this hotel to visitors.
The room was dirty roach eggs in the kitchen cabinets the hanger had freaking rust all over them,This our first and most definitely last time. The pictures online are fake don't do it don't do it, they should condemn The Landmark they trash.
We stayed here for spring break, my first impression was over crowded and the floors were wet everywhere. The halls, the elevators were wet, the only place that was dry was the lobby. We had to wait 15 minutes for an elevator and the hotel itself was hard to navigate. We stayed on the 8th floor with a king bed and kitchen and ocean view. For the price we paid the room was nice and clean. The kitchen had all cooking utensils and a big Refrigerator toaster, microwave even a can opener! That aspect was nice. The view was awesome and the bed was a little hard for my liking but still nice. The air conditioner worked in both rooms . Loved how there was two toilets. We did ask for a pack in play when booking and we never received one. The pools were very crowded inside and out and hair was floating all over the water! It was kinda gross to have hair sticking to your arms, but the water felt nice and our kids had a blast. The restaurant food was good. I had the Augusta chicken and my husband had the Alfredo chicken the restaurant was under staffed so I toolbar the food to our room and still waited over an hour but Mo the bar tender was awesome and served very good drinks and was nice to talk too while I waited. Over all our stay was good main complaint was to crowded and not very clean.
The check-in took forever, 2 staff members for a lot of people. The room was not that clean, but the cleaning lady had a good attitude and was pleasant. The hotel was noisy until late into the night. I would not go back again.
Stayed here a week with the family. Lots of things to do here at the resort, and lots of activities close by. Indoor and outdoor pools and lazy rivers are a plus. Also the ocean is just steps away.
I have been coming here for a few years now. The customer service is great but now the place could use some upgrades in certain areas. Its always clean and if something is wrong, they are on it. That's why I gave a 3 this time.
We are here now and absolutely LOVE it here! The location is great, the staff are wonderful and the amenities are good. We look forward to returning in the future! I highly recommend an oceanfront room!
Sub par rooms. We got one of the nicer suites with an ocean view. The room was not very clean at all at check in. As a matter of fact, there were feces on the bathroom door. Bring some Lysol wipes (we did) and do a thorough cleaning before you settle in.
There are a lot of pools but they were all very crowded and not very clean and we'll maintained (this is the theme here). Several of the halls and corridors had nasty odors.
The positive if this resort is the location (assuming you want to be in the thick of it in downtown Myrtle Beach).
For how much money the hotel charges I think they can do some updating the hall carpet was nasty and the halls smelled like garbage. The indoor pool was cold and the fountain didn t work some of the hot tubes weren t hot or didn t work. The beds are very uncomfortable the only good thing was the bartender Haley she was so nice and made the drinks so good and the food was pretty good but honestly for how much money you spend go somewhere else I will not be returning I ll go next door for a way better experience.
Rooms were nice for a decent price. Pools were great!! The hallway/stairwell however seemed a little dirty and smelled like piss. Regardless this was a good stay.
My husband and I were placed in this hotel through Holiday Inn Vacation club. The reviews looked great online and the website and photos looked stunning! When we checked in, we were really disgusted with the surrounding area as there were motels across the street and we felt like the area took away from the hotel. We checked in and the front desk girl was polite but the rest of the staff was very stand off-ish. When we got the keys we walked to our room and the hallways were very dirty, the lazy river pool area was murkey and more green in color. Our bedroom was the worst part. we rolled in with our cart and the floor was very wet and smelled like mold. The cart was actually rolling the carpet up. The beds were hard as rocks and when we opened the patio, the popcorn ceiling started falling off onto the ground. This was the worst impression ive ever had with a hotel. I loved that we were on the beach, but our surrounding area did not feel safe or clean, and our bedroom smelled like mold and was wet. I felt like I was about to have bed bugs and roaches climb out of everything! I immediately went downstairs and checked out and asked for all my money back. This was the worst hotel I've ever been to and I honestly would recommend no one to come here. I am a big traveler and I am very open to new places and checking out new spots. Myrtle beach over all was more of a dirty area compared to Florida gulf. I would never come back. When I told the front desk about the mold, falling ceiling, and carpet rolled up and wet, they ignored it and did not make any comments about it (I guess this is common and maybe their standard). Again, if you are coming with your family, don't. Just spend a couple more dollars and go find a better spot. I would never come back here and I am HIGHLY disappointed with this spot and holiday inn vacation club. I will never travel or use their services again. I also never write reviews, but I felt this deserved the truth.
Rooms were nice. But someone should either retrain the bartender (woman with brown hair and tattoos) or lower those prices. I ordered a banana colada and asked for a double because usually I'm a one and done drinker... But there was NO ALCOHOL IN THAT DRINK.... NONE!!!! And I don't think I would have been. As aggravated had I not paid $20 for it. They gave me banana puree and ice! Also our toilet got backed up on the last day and our refrigerator didn't work. But the bartender inside with the dreads was great! She should be on the beach bar!
I always visit the Landmark Resort. The houskeeping staff are excellent! The rooms are too. They have also improved their Wi-Fi as well. My only complaint would be the attention to their ice machine. The floor we stayed had no ice and apparently no staff noticed...
My time at the Landmark was quick but enjoyable. I spent the majority of my time using the pools and beach access which were both clean, safe, and well maintained.
We were there last week and had a great time. We had and issue last year, had made some calls and I can say that from last July to this July it was a lot different. We have stayed there several times.
We know the resort is a little dated, but we know that when we book with the pricing.
The smells that the hallways always have has been greatly diminished by fresh paint in the hallways and the stair wells.
All the elevators were working, we know they can be a little slower in peak times, but for the most part they were pretty efficient.
If you want a quieter room and setting, book an angle suite. I know they cost more, but it does get you away from all of the hallway traffic especially if you are not wanting to be up all hours of the night or the very early morning hours.
The staff were very friendly and the room was clean. We brought a better air mattress with us and that made for little bit more comfortable sleep on the beds.
We talked with the guy running the pool service and I told him the huge difference we seen in the operation of the resort. We had some strong storms come through and they experienced some flooding so there was and issue with the pools because they had to have someone come in to vac out the drains. It should be 100 times better now than before, they didn't know when the last time the drains had been cleaned.
Make sure you bring your own change for laundry though, the change machine does not work and they have limited change at the front desk.
The pool parties are a big hit with us as well. We have a lot of fun with them.
If you looking for a good, reasonable priced resort on the south end of Myrtle Beach this is a good place. Like I said earlier, this resort is not brand new, it is clean and up kept though.
This is a family resort with a lot of kids, so if having kids splashing around or running around isn't your thing, this isn't your place.
I always stay at the Landmark however this was worst time. The room I was in didn t have all the kitchen supplies. The fridge was missing shelves and dirty. The bathroom wasn t clean. It was big water bugs in my room. I had to call for blankets and pillows for wall bed. I asked are the owners require to update there properties because some of the rooms are in good shape and others are not. I was told they don t put pressure on the owners because they don t want them to leave the properties because that s how the Landmark makes there income which is ridiculous. Where is the customer service here?
"BED BUGS"!!!! "BED BUGS"!!!!! "BED BUGS"!!!!! Day two arms burning on fire still itching and the management had the nerve to tell me before i packed and left that there investigation resulted in "0" bugs found in the room... BULL!!!!!!!!!! They have "roaches" at the pools downstairs and they dont tell you but they are pet friendly... Worst stay ever in life i will never come here again.. Truly it deserves no stars!!!!!!
Rooms were clean, lazy river was broken, elevators we're not working at times. Loud noises when water was turned on to take a Shower. Street level outdoor noises we're loud and obnoxious at night.
I would give them zero stars! This is a GARBAGE hotel! In serious need of a face lift. Decor straight out of the 80 s. We were put here by the Hilton Vacation Club overflow reservation. Beyond disappointed. We don t recommend the hotel and definitely won t be returning!
Pros: the cost, multiple pools and hot tubs, oceanfront, room service for breakfast, flat screen tvs, full size kitchens, mattresses protectors, covered walkway from parking garage, bar at pool area, indoor and outdoor pools. Cons: outdated furniture, old carpets, long walk from parking deck, some pools needed cleaning, mattress protector had a burn hole in it, very uncomfortable bed linens & blanket (thank god I brought my own just in case) cotton is rough and somewhat scratchy, only 3 pillows for the king size bed and 2 for the wall bed, rooms could have been cleaner, pools are not heated and water park across the street had dirty water and was freezing cold so we stuck to the pools located directly at the hotel. All in all this is a great place to stay with the family... Rooms need some updating and beds need a whole new linen change and this would be my go to hotel in MB
Loved all the pools and Jacuzzis. Staff was very friendly. I loved our oceanfront view! Only down side i will say is the breakfast is not worth it. Im glad they have that starbucks in it lol
Pros: fast check-in, clean room, breakfast on site, indoor and outdoor pools for your enjoyment, close to a lot of attractions/restaurants(we drove less than 20 mins to dinner and the amusement park), view of the beach was worth it
Cons: hallways were a bit dated doors could use a fresh coat of paint, carpet had a slight smell(due to being walked on by wet feet)
Would return again! Had a good experience overall!
